VMX24
Not many machining centers in the world with a 24” X-axis travel that have as small a footprint (85.8x91") as the Hurco VMX24. Even fewer with an accompanying 20” Y-axis travel. Then, packaged with all the additional features, it certainly stands alone.
As with all Hurco machines, the VMX24 comes with the most powerful control available. It’s also rigidly constructed to eliminate vibrations – even under the heaviest cutting conditions. The standard, 10,000 RPM spindle compares favorably to many machining centers costing considerably more.
The 24-station automatic tool changer goes from tool to tool in three seconds. That’s just more evidence that the VMX24 is about speed as much as it is power. The VMX24 can be upgraded to feature a higher-speed, 15,000 RPM spindle.

HS430L
Sodick's high-speed linear machining centre.
As a pioneer in the use of highly dynamic linear drives in machine tools, and based on years of experience with over 10,000 linear EDM machines, Sodick is presenting a new generation of high-speed linear machining centres with linear drives in all axes – the HS L series
High acceleration rates > 1G, maximum stability and the highest degree of precision down to the nano realm are the top attributes of this innovation, which heralds a new era in milling tools. Not least because the handling of the machine is extremely easy and safe, thanks to the Windows-based CNC controller combined with Sodick Motion Control software.
Unlike the conventional method of separately executed rough and fine milling, this new technology combines both these machining passes in the one operating mode. The solution is a rapidly rotating and traversing tool of small diameter that cuts to fine depths.
Fine depth milling
Small diameter cutting tools are ideal for minimising the cusp (residual surface roughness after cutting) and therefore milling resistance. The result is enhanced dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and tool life.
High Speed Milling
High-speed milling shortens cycle times and therefore the whole machining period. Other advantages are improved surface qualities, multi-purpose tools, and minimising chip sizes for ease of disposal. In addition, this technology does not require coolant, so dry (semi-dry) machining is also possible.
