SIF 4
The new SIF industrial relays with an element height of just 10.9 mm are worldwide the flattest 4 to 6-pole relays with forcibly guided contacts and can professional switch at 8A.
The monostable, neutral magnet system requires a mere 660mW (6 poles) or 700mW (4 poles) coil drive capacity and can be lowered to approx. 200 mW after switching on. If the fixation pins on the relay's underside are taken advantage of as stand-off, the relay height is approx. 12.1 mm and SMD of up to 1mm element height can be placed under it. The SIF4 and SIF6 are washproof (RTIII) and RoHS-conforming.
The hard-silver alloy, free of heavy metals, is suitable for switching capacities from 5mA to 8A (AC-1). Moreover, notched-crown contacts are used which combine the benefits of crown, twin and knife-edge contacts. This guarantees industrial safe and reliable contact making over very long operation periods at low switching loads (feedback circuits).
With a base area of approx. 53.6 mm x 33.5 mm of the SIF6 and approx. 41.0 mm x 29.4 mm of the SIF4, special care has been taken to maintain the safe separation of all current carrying circuits (test voltage 4,000 Veff.). The high shock and vibration resistance (AK15g / 10g) is also confirmed by the common approbations of the TUeV, UL, SEV etc. |

SIF 6
Relays for areas with a high explosion hazard must satisfy special safety requirements. Voltage flashovers and short-circuits can have devastating consequences. This is why Elesta relays pays highest attention to its products featuring generously dimensioned clearances and creepage distances. With the SIM range of relays, for example, these amount to >14 mm between control and load side, and the test voltage applied during one minute is 5,000V eff. As a result these relays can also be used in applications requiring explosion protection.
Within the contact assembly, clearances and creepage distances of >5.5 mm exist and a test voltage of up to 4,000V eff. is applied, depending on the relay type and contact execution.
Small size: the base of the two-contact version is only 34 mm2, the three and four-contact version 45 mm2.
Impressive electrical 'power': At a nominal switching capacity of AC-1 250V8A the contacts reach a useful life of >100,000 switching operations. Thanks to the gold-plated crown contacts it is also possible to reliably switch small signals of a capacity of a few milliwatts.
SIM relays comply with the European standard DIN EN 50205. Next to all standard coils we also offer special coils on request. |

SIP 6
Applications with a high number of operations and major switching loads are extremely demanding as far as the contact life is concerned. So far, one resorted in such cases to small or auxiliary contactors wired between the actual load. This is not necessary any more: a new development of ELESTA relays GmbH enables the direct activation of e.g. electricity motors at a switching load of 380...440V up to 4.4 kW (6 HP).
The "power package" introduced under the type designation "SIP 512" (2 control contacts, 4 output contacts) is the strongest safety relay so far of this innovative Swiss manufacturer. The solid contacts (AgSnO2) are designed for inrush currents up to 60 A. Equally possible is the continuous carrying of a contact current of 16 A. At a resistance load of AC1 16 A/250 V the contact life is at least 250,000 switching operations.
As with all products of ELESTA relays, the safety of persons and material assets is in the forefront also with the "SIP 512". In compliance with standard EN 50205 all 6 contacts are fully forcibly guided against each other. Thanks to the big distances between the individual contact chambers (> 8mm) this relay permits to safely switch three-phase mains up to a switching voltage of 480 V (AC). |

SGR 282 / SIR 282
The SGR282Z is one of most spread safety relays with 2 forcibly guided change-over contacts.
The SGR282Z is produced with standard and sensitive coils with up to 110VDC. The coil power consumption of the sensitive version is as low as 0.7mW, which is an increase of around 30% compared with the standard coil.
The creeping and leakage distances between both contacts are >5.5mm at a tested insulation voltage of 4’000 Veff. Switching capacity is 1’500 VA (6A at 240 AC with load of AC-1).
The SGR282Z has the highest insulation values in its class. With creeping and leakage distances of more than 14 mm between coil and contact side the SGR282Z can also be used in applications in the EEx-area (explosion protection). |
|
SIM 2 / SIM 3 / SIM 4
With the SIM range of relays clearances and creepage distances amount to >14 mm between control and load side, and the test voltage applied during one minute is 5,OOOV eff. As a result these relays can be used without problems also in operating equipment requiring explosion protection. Within the contact assembly, clearances and creepage distances of >5.5 mm exist and a test voltage of up to 4,OOOV eff is applied, depending on the relay type and contact execution.
Remarkable about these relays is also their small size: in the two-contact version the base area is only 34 mm2, and in the three and four-contact version 45 mm2. This permits to keep the control's overall volume to the minimum. The electrical 'power' of these relays is all the more impressive. At a nominal switching capacity of AC-1 250V8A the contacts reach a useful life of >100,000 switching operations. Thanks to the gold-plated crown contacts it is also possible to reliably switch small signals of a capacity of a few milliwatts.
SIM relays comply with the European standard DIN EN 50205, of course. They are available in four different contact versions with series coil voltages from 5VDC to 110VDC. Special coils are made on request. |

SIR 8 / SIR 10
ELESTA relays stays with its policy to offer products with added safety within the contact block. With this added safety voltages of up to 250 V between two adjacent contact pairs can be insulated („industrial safe separation“). As a matter of course the creeping distance are designed for pollution degree 3 according to the Norm EN50205 for relays with forcibly guided contacts.
Although the relay is designed for highest degree of insulation between the single contact pairs (creeping and leakage distances > 8 mm) it perfectly fits in standard housings of 90mm width. With a height of only 32 mm the SIR 8 contact is the smallest relays of this type on the market. A coil power consumption of only 1.3 W is made with latest insights of relay construction. The switching current is max. 10A.. |

SIS 4 / SIS 6
After presenting the world's smallest manufacturer of safety relays SIS with 6 contacts two years ago, ELESTA industrial relays now starts with a 4-contact version in executions SIS 422 (2 N.O./2 N.C.) and SIS 312 (3 N.O./1 N.C.). Both types feature forcibly guided contacts and comply with standard EN50205. The outer dimensions are identical with those of the 6-contact version (I x w x h: 48 x 16.6 x 16.2mm) and allow high packing densities in housings for protective devices.
With a nominal actuation capacity of only 0.5W and a thermal resistance of less than 40K/W the heat generated by the new 4-contact relays is extremely low.
The SIS 4 contact relays cover a wide load spectrum ranging from small control circuits with amperages from 5mA to large users with 1500VA output at max. 6A.
As in all Elesta relays, double and reinforced insulation exists between coil, control and output contacts despite the minimal outside dimensions. This means that the device is largely protected against internal voltage flash-overs, and this even in cases where extremely voltage-contaminated mains supplies need to be switched The output contacts are also optimally insulated against each other. All main approvals are already granted. |
|
The main problem with which developers of industrial relays are confronted is to find the best compromise between entirely different and often opposing requirements. On the one hand the relays should be of the smallest possible volume, on the other they should be flexible for the activation. Apart from these aspects they should become more sensitive, offer a higher performance and reliability, but all this not at the expense of the contact data and insulation properties, of course.
ELESTA relays GmbH, the specialist for relays with forcibly guided contacts, meets these requirements in an ideal manner with its new "SIS 422". An intelligent design coupled with the selection of highly developed and proven materials have permitted to reduce the dimensions to the absolute minimum. This relay is only 48 x 16.6 x 16.2 mm and capable of actuating six contacts with a nominal coil output of approx. 0.66 W. The admissible switching load is 6 A/250 V (AC1).
As rightfully expected, the "SIS 422" offers the same high safety standard as all other ELESTA relays. All six contacts are fully forcibly guided against each other as specified by the standard EN 50205 type A.
Air gaps and creeping distances are >8 mm. This means that mains voltages and control potentials can be safely separated. |

SIR 6 / SIR SEN
What the development engineer appreciates particularly are the comprehensive possibilities for the implementation of intelligent and cost-effective devices and systems. With the SIR relays it is possible to build up circuits satisfying the highest safety levels of category 4 according to standard EN 954-1. This standard permits safety-oriented appliances equipped with SIR relays to be used at the highest safety level for the protection of humans and equipment.
The contacts of the SIR relays switch all kinds of current paths in emergency-off devices, two-hand control units, protective professional door supervisions, industrial elevator controls, frequency changers and many other types of protective equipment.
SIR relays meet the insulation group C250VAC according to VDE0110 and protection class II according to VDE0106. Apart from this they are approved by the most important test laboratories such as SEV, UL, CSA, TÜV, and recommended by the German professional/trade association.
The range of SIR relays comprises a total of 16 contact variants from 4 to 10 contacts corresponding to European Standard EN 50205 Type A. All variants are characterized by a low actuating capacity. The load spectrum ranges from control signals of a few milliwatts right to large consumers with 2.5 kilowatts. |
|
SIS 2 / SIS 3 / SIS 3 SEN
The new safety relay SIS212 measures a mere 29.2 x 16.6 x 16.2 mm (lxwxh) and thus satisfies the ever rising demand for ever smaller components. The DIN standard EN 50205, application type A, is fully complied with. Approvals by SEV, UL, cUL and TUV.
This relay is equipped with 3 forcibly guided contacts (2 normally-open contacts / 1 normally-closed contact). The contact nearest to the coil is the normally-closed contact. It is mostly used for control functions or feedback purposes. At a greater distance follows the load and output side with the two normally-open contacts. They are designed for a nominal switching capacity of AC-1 250V 6A.
The contact material is a well-proven silver-alloy with added gold flashing, permitting to reliably switch small control signals of a few milliwatts right to large consumers of max. 1500VA.
A industrial safe electrical separation exists between control and output side. Coil and control contact are separated from the two output contacts by double and reinforced insulation with clearances and creepage distances >8mm.
The SIS 212 is protected against overvoltages according to category III. All common coil voltages between 5 ...110 VDC can be manufactured.
NEW: Now also available with sensitive coil! |

For certain applications of industrial safety relays the market specifies mounting bases ever more clearly. Although most of the users in question are aware of the advantages and drawbacks of a plug-in socket, the relay's suitability for a rapid exchange during service or in case of disturbances is emphasized. This is why Elesta relays GmbH has now included plug-in sockets in its range of products.
The programme of sockets consists of six versions:
- For the SGR282Z and the SIR282 there exists also a plug-in socket each for mounting on printed circuit boards and on standardized 35 mm Din rails (top-hat rails).
- One execution each is available for mounting on printed circuit boards for the SIR 4-contact and the SIR 6-contact range of relays.
- For the small SIM 4-contact relay there exists also a plug-in socket each for mounting on printed circuit boards and on standardized 35 mm DIN rails (top-hat rails).
All mounting bases feature an integrated locking device which ensures that the relays are securely held in position but that they can be easily removed from the socket also.

Spectra Series 8000 Line
Motor control centers provide a convenient, centralized means of protecting and controlling all of a facility's motor loads. In many facilities today, these motor loads often are precision HVAC systems responsible for cooling sensitive electronic equipment - professional servers, professional routers, switches, pc's, etc. Any power outage or fault event could severely damage this equipment and ultimately bring all operations to a halt - resulting in huge financial losses.
Since 1940, GE Motor control centers have been designed and manufactured with demanding applications like this in mind. Built using Six Sigma quality guidelines, GE MCCs offer an enormous amount of application flexibility while adhering to the most stringent industry standards. |
