The conical discontinuous mixer (CDM) intimately blends several powdery and/or granular products in an extremely short time whatever the proportions.
This batch mixer allows mixing powdery products with low proportions of liquids, even with the lightest powders.
The important differences of bulk density have no influence over the mixing quality.
Operating principle:
Once the mixer has been loaded, the mixing rotor progressively moves all the product and creates an internal recycling vortex phenomenon.
The mixer empties by gravity, by opening a hatch valve situated at the base of the cone.
In the case of difficult flowing products, the mixing rotor can be used as a de-vaulting device.

Ploughshare® - Batch Mixer
Highest quality mixes
Short mixing times
Reproduceable batches
Gentle treatment of the product
Maximum availability
Low maintenance mixer concept
Easy accessibility to all inside parts of the mixer
Machine Type
Batch mixers operate on the hurling and whirling principle introduced by Lödige to mixing technology. Equipped with mixing elements which can be adapted to individual requirement, the mixes produced in these machines are of the highest quality.
Standard Configuration
Ploughshare® shovels rotate as mixing elements in special arrangement on the mixer shaft in a horizontal, cylindrical drum. The size, number and positioning, geometric shape and peripheral speed of the mixing elements are coordinated in such a way that they produce a three-dimensional movement of the components. The resultant turbulence in the mix, whereby all the product is constantly involved in the mixing process, prevents the formation of deadspots or low-movement zones in the mixing drum and ensures high speed, precision mixing. To prevent particles from being squashed against the drum wall, the mixing elements are specially shaped to lift product from the wall within the radial movement of the mix.
In some cases additional assistance for the mixing elements to obtain the desired mixing effect is required. Separately driven, high-speed choppers can be installed to disperse agglomerations and control granulation during the mixing process in coordination with the mixing elements.

Silverson's new hygienic series of High Shear Bottom Entry Mixers are designed to fit into the bottom or side of a mixing vessel. These high shear mixers are typically used in conjunction with a slow speed anchor stirrer or scraper unit for high viscosity products. The Silverson Bottom Entry mixer gives high shear homogenisation while the stirrer/scraper distributes the homogenised output uniformly through the vessel. This is ideal for high viscosity cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food products.
Bottom Entry mixers can also be used by themselves on low viscosity products and to wet out powders.
Silverson Bottom Entry Mixers offer full compliance with 3A, USDA and GMP requirements.

The mixer or muller is rightly considered to be the pulsating heart of the sand plant. Obviously, it is the most important machine where ideal conditions of moulding sand are restored.
Over the years, the market has been invaded by the most various types of mixers: from the first mixers with scrapers to the actual intensive mixers. Today, a mixer must satisfy the following requirements:
a) Production of constant quality sand
b) High productivity
c) Reliability
d) Reduced maintenance.
In our opinion, to meet these requirements it is necessary to combine the activity of the mixer with a sand control which supervises its functions.
In fact, they are to be considered as two parts of the same system: arm and mind.

Bella™ Fluidized Zone Mixer
Model XE
Model XN
Super Fast, Gentle, Precision Mixing
The Bella Fluidized Zone Mixer by Dynamic Air features an original design that achieves fast, high capacity, thorough, precision mixing of either dry bulk solids or liquids with solids. Regardless of particle size, shape or density, materials are mixed with a fast, efficient and gentle action. A weightless zone created by low speed counter-rotating shafts generates very low friction without shear. This makes the Bella mixer ideal for fragile products that cannot tolerate rough handling. Even flakes or spray dried bodies remain intact.
Versatile for Liquid Additions
Liquids can be added at much higher rates than normally possible and vast material surfaces are constantly being exposed for maximum dispersion. A wide range of viscosities can be quickly dispersed whether poured, streamed or sprayed. Particle sizes dictate rate and method of liquid addition. In the Bella mixer you can add small amounts of powder or fibers, small amounts of liquid, solid fat (shortening) or liquid fat, or liquid with high viscosity. You can also coat particles or pellets and agglomerate in the mixer.

For optimised particle size distribution: The Nebulasizer
The NARA Nebulasizer is designed to optimise the particle size distribution of soft granulates and extrudates. This standardization is possible both with wet and dry granulates.
During the process the oversized agglomerates will be reduced in their size and simultaneously fine-grained resp. dust particle are applied on bigger agglomerates. In one step the coarse particles are eliminated and the fine particles are agglomerated, but without an unwanted crushing. A following process step like sieving is not needed.
Because of his simple layout the machine is easy to clean, why the Nebulasizer is of interest for the pharmacy and the food processing industry in equal measure.
The GMP construction consists of a minimum of components with a highly polished surface that makes disassembling and cleaning in no time.
Besides the stainless-steel construction there is also an alternative for heavy industry available. This construction is able to convert building material like moulding compound or ceramics.
Nara’s especially developed innovative principle of comminution minimises the shearing strain of the particles, so that a crushing of particle size is not given.
Because of the screenless construction a breakage of the screen is out of the question.
The Nara Nebulasizer is now available as a milling tool in the new generation of Nara-Pharmamills. It can be integrated perfectly into existing productions.

Fristam has developed a flexible powder mixer based on the shear pump. This universal unit was specially designed to dissolve/emulsify and homogenise wet and dry ingredients into fluids.
Supported by a base frame, a self-priming centrifugal pump is connected to the shear pump via a pipe joint. Via a funnel, the powder is added to product stream and then homogenised with the help of a shear pump.
A table at ergonomic operation height facilitates manual powder feeding.
If equipped with the according control systems, a powder mixer can also be attached to a fully automated system. If required, adapters for automatic and semi-automatic feeding via big bags, screw-conveyers and other conveyer systems can be delivered.

The Ψ-Mix® inline disperser combines a new dispersion method, in which the solid components are wetted on a large liquid surface, with emission- free, dust-free inline operation. The combination of vacuum dispersion, shearing and pressure wetting results in homogeneous, fine dispersions with very reproducible quality – all at high efficiency levels in a controlled process.
Because the machine is suitable for processing both low- and high-viscosity suspensions, it covers the complete spectrum of applications for dispersion technology. In addition, the design of the mixing zone makes it possible to process temperature-sensitive or dilatant materials.
Compared to conventional rotor-stator systems, this machine uses considerably less energy to disperse your products. The Ψ-Mix® is also easy to integrate into fully-automatic production lines for the manufacture of large batches and is particularly well suited and specially adapted for emission-free and explosion-proof operation.
