A new triple shaft Model VMC-40S Sanitary VersaMix was recently introduced. This unique mixer line is designed to provide maximum process flexibility to the user.
The VersaMix is constructed using all type 316 stainless steel wetted parts, polished to a 180 grit finish. The unit includes feature such as a self-contained high Shear Rotor Stator Mixer with SLIM for solids induction, a conventional High Speed Disperser, and a Three Wing Anchor with Teflon scrapers to clean the side walls of the vessel. The vessels are jacketed to heat or cool and these can operate to 29-1/2 hg vacuum and 15 psi internal pressure. The mixers and mix vessels are mounted on non-sparking caster wheels making the entire units portable.
Models are available from a one gallon bench top design to production sizes exceeding 4000 gallons. Change can and fixed tank designs are offered with features to suit the specific application for which they will be used.

We offer Dual and Triple Shaft designs to meet the specific requirements of each customer. The economical Dual Shaft design includes a two-wing anchor agitator and a conventional high speed disperser. This combination is ideal for straightforward mixing and dispersion applications.
The triple shaft design extends the operating range of by adding either a high shear rotor-stator mixer or a second high speed disperser. The addition of a high shear rotor-stator mixer adds the capability of emulsifying and homogenizing products that require higher shear to reduce the size of the particles being mixed.

ORU MB Pan mixer with two horizontal shafts, counter-rotating and synchronized with each other, are characterized by their big output per cycle and are ideal for the preparation of various types of concrete: from concrete for civil and industrial construction, to light concretes made with materials of low specific weight, to mixtures for subfloors and road subgrades. Moreover, the particular configuration of the mixing devices makes it possible to use coarse aggregates (with grain sizes >150 mm).
They are mainly utilized when big concrete outputs are needed: plants for truck mixer feeding and plants for dams.

IBC Mixers
Mixing in Intermediary Bulk Containers (IBCs) can be a challenging task. With the restricted opening and problematic vessel geometry it is difficult to find a mixer which can operate efficiently in these containers. Conventional agitators can provide adequate in-tank movement at low viscosities, but they are generally less effective and can be difficult to clean.
The Silverson Ultramix is designed to provide solutions to challenges such as this. The small diameter dynamic mixing head provides vigorous in-tank mixing, even at higher viscosities, eliminating dead areas in square vessels. This also reduces power requirements and simplifies cleaning – the Ultramix is designed for CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) and complies with 3A, USDA and cGMP requirements.
To further enhance the capabilities of the Ultramix in this application Silverson has designed a mixing station for use with IBCs. The unit incorporates a number of safety features and is available as either a mobile model which can be moved between vessels, or a floor/wall mounted station for operation in a designated area. Various levels of automation are available from safety interlocked manual operation to fully automated systems.

The Silverson L2/Air Laboratory Mixer
The Silverson L2/Air is an efficient, lightweight high shear mixer powered by an intrinsically safe 0.25 hp 6000 rpm variable speed compressed air motor suitable for ATEX Zoned/Explosion Hazard areas. The unit is supplied with a manually operated adjustable bench stand and can be fitted with speed regulator, muffler, air regulator and gauge, water filter and lubricator as optional extras.
The L2/Air will accept Standard, Tubular, In-Line and Duplex mixing assemblies from Silverson’s Laboratory range. Capacity is from 1 ml to 12 litres. A specially modified motor unit can be provided to accept Sealed Unit assemblies.
AX/Air
The Model AX/Air is a pilot scale high shear mixer with a capacity of up to 50 litres.

The IKA® MHD-Plant serves for continuous "Inline mixing and dispersing" of powders into liquids.
Especially the quick and complete wetting of the solids (powders or granules) guarantees for a very good homogeneity and an extremely shortened duration of the process.
The mixing components are fed by means of a positive-displacement pump for liquids and a dosing device for solids, available with or without desaggregation device at your choice. The dust-free dosing makes working with this plant very comfortable.
On request the plant can be equipped with a complete measuring and control technique for automatic operation.
These mixing plants are available with total capacities of up to 40 t/h. With reduced flow capacity a solids content of up to 80% can be reached. In that case the ready mixed product is a highly viscous paste.
The MHD-Plants are available in 6 different sizes.

Operation principle
The mixer is equipped with a ribbon-rotor mixing unit. Products are loaded by a conveyor or manually. A manually or pneumatically controlled bolt unloads it. Operating capacity of the MPCS mixer is: 50 ÷ 2000 litres or more.

The DRAIS Turbulent SuperFlusher® is a batch, heavy-duty horizontal mixer. It is designed to properly mix and knead press cake providing the energy to drive the water from the press cake. Additionally, the Turbulent SuperFlusher® mixing paddles impart the necessary shear for dispersion and drying of the press cake. Finally, Turbulent SuperFlusher® allows easy standardization of the dispersion and easy product discharge.
Ideally, it is desirable to have a flushing system that easily adapts to the constant changing conditions found in most pigment press cakes. Pigment lots change since pigment is generally produced in batches from various types of filter presses. At the same time the percent of solids varies with the different types and colors of pigments.
The most advanced flushing system; Drais Turbulent SuperFlusher® is easily adjusted by the operator and requires minimal power to operate. Flushing cycles are now as short as possible from start to finish, including standardization and pack out in one production shift.

During the coating of steel or aluminium strips in high speed coil coating machines the liquid coatings (varnishes) are stressed to an extremely high degree. Therefore it is absolutely essential to test the mechanical hardness of these varnishes in the laboratory first.
During the test the coating is poured into a small container and subjected to very high shear conditions (up to 64.000 rpm). These conditions are created by the contrarotating high speed propellers. After the test the coating is applied to a test panel and baked at different temperatures. The subsequent testing of the surface shows whether the coating meets the required quality standards.

It has no equivalent for the extrapolation tasks from the laboratory to industrial manufacturing and enables the validation of the turbine types and speed ranges depending on the rheology of the product being processed.
Air Supertest is a laboratory mixer compatible with ATEX regulations (perfect command of risks linked to explosive atmospheres) offering the flexibility and necessary power for the agitation of the most complex products.
Trilab authorizes mixtures in the laboratory under production conditions, particularly in a controlled atmosphere, and hence brings together pilot results directly scalable to production levels. It consists of three types of coaxial agitation: 1 central agitation movement, 1 scraping movement and 1 rotor/stator in vessel bottom. It may optionally be equipped with an integrated melter (Hotlab)
The R51 planetary blender with a capacity of 5 liters is specially adapted to standardized tests according to norm EN 196-1 made with a paddle of stainless steel 304L crossing files. Other tests may also be conducted with tools of spiral or hook types.
