The Vortex high shear mixers are designed to perform wet granulation processes, combining active products and excipients by adding a binder solution.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

The CDS dispersion system enables the dispersion process to be carried out in single walled containers in a closed system under vacuum. The single walled containers are placed into the container receptacle and secured in place. If the dispersion process needs to be cooled a double walled container receptacle is available. After the liquid and powder components have been added, the glass cover can be lowered into place onto the container receptacle over the vacuum shaft guide tube. The actual dispersion process can now be carried out and the product set into a turbulence free rolling motion. If vacuum is required the vacuum pump can be switched on. The impeller height can easily be raised or lowered during the dispersion process even under vacuum. The dispersion process can clearly be observed through the large glass cover.

Fast, homogeneous blending
The Blendcon air blender uses compressed air to lift, turn and tumble dry materials, utilizing the high kinetic energy released when compressed air is allowed to expand rapidly to atmospheric pressure. Compressed air is pulsed into the material in an upward circular pattern. This blending method is so effective that very few pulses are required to complete the blending cycle.

Vertical Blenders are an excellent design alternative for applications that are shear sensitive or where space on the plant floor is at a minimum.
The gentle blending action of the slow turning blending screw is far gentler than that of a horizontal blender. The blending screw orbits the conical vessel wall while it turns and gently lifts material upward. The materials are then thrust at the upper most batch level towards the center of the vessel, and then move slowly back down the center, while mixing with materials being moved upward by the orbiting screw.
When compared to horizontal blenders this design has several advantages:
1. Gentle blending action is ideal for friable or shear sensitive materials.
2. One blender can be used for a wide range of batch sizes, ranging from as small as 10% of the rated capacity.
3. Nearly 100% of the blended materials are discharged through the bottom valve after completion of the blend cycle.
4. Use nearly 50% less power per unit being blended.
5. Less floor-space and are ideally suited to multi-story facilities.

Constitutes a vertical mixing system, whereby maximum mixing efficiency is combined with low generation of energy and minimum increase in temperature. The mixer is designed for easy cleaning. Standard Configuration
A three-arm mixing element rotates close to the wall and with minimum clearance from the bottom of a vertical, cylindrical mixing container. The special shape of this element and its peripheral speed are coordinated in such a way that the mixing product is circulated as a vortex and thereby accelerated horizontally and vertically. This mode of product movement assures rapid, intensive mixing, even in the case of components with widely varied particle shapes and sizes, bulk densities and surface condition. High mixing precision is obtained within minimum time. If necessary, a separately driven chopper disperses lumps, distributes liquid uniformly and promotes wet granulation.
