The MS-70, MX-50, MF-50 and the ML-50 are moisture analyzers that utilize the heating and drying method, which compares the weight of a sample before and after heating and drying. Compared with Karl Fischer analyzers, the MS/MX/MF/ML analyzers are much easier to operate and require a shorter time for measurements. At the same time, they maintain very high repeatability thanks to the incorporation of A&D¡'s Super Hybrid Sensor (SHS) as the weighing sensor.
The Windows Communication Tools, WinCT-Moisture, is provided as standard for the MS and MX (optional for MF and ML). With the RsFig, the MS/MX/MF/ML can display a graph on a PC showing changes in the moisture rate while performing measurements. Moreover, with RsTemp, it is possible to determine the most suitable heating conditions for a given sample in a very short time. Specifically, RsTemp automatically changes the heat applied based on set increments and interval times within a range of 30°C-200°C. Given changes in the moisture rate over time, it can determine the most suitable heating temperature.
Another unique feature is that the MS/MX/MF/ML come standard with Sodium Tartrate Dihydrate. Sodium Tartrate Dihydrate is a chemical material that has a stable moisture content of approx. 15.66%, and is therefore ideal to check for accuracy in order to maintain the reference value of the analyzer.
The moisture content resolution of the MS, MX, MF and the ML is 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.05% and 0.1% respectively. The MS-70 is the leading model and is capable of measurements as precise as those done by a Karl Fischer moisture analyzer.
Please see the Users Handbook for the MS/MX/MF/ML for further details.

The moisture measuring system IR 3000 consists of a non-contact working measuring head and a menu-driven interface for calibration and programming of the moisture measuring system.
The menu-driven interface is installed near to the measuring head and used as an external display near to the measuring position.
This allows reading of the measured moisture values at the sampling devices, for laboratory purposes.
With an Ethernet network or serial connection, measured values will be transferred from the menu-driven interface to a visualisation PC in the control room or to a process control system. Here, the central evaluation and display of all connected measuring systems will take place.
To achieve accurate measurement, a continuous flow of material is required. For operational areas, where a continuous material flow is not guaranteed, special sampling devices should be used. During this process, the material falls into an opening by the sampling device. Once measurement of a sample is complete, it is removed by compressed air so that the sampling device refills with material and the next measurement can take place.

SONO-MOVE: The new Sensor for direct measurements in moved materials
Precise moisture measurements – directly on conveyors and in silos, containers and hoppers.
The novel probe head consists of Wolfram-Carbide and a very wear-resistant ceramic in order to warrant for a long life-span of the probe. Thanks to the Wedge-shaped structure and at only 12mm thickness of the probe the flow of the material on the conveyor belt is only slightly affected.
In case of abrasion, a recalibration is not necessary.
The TRIME technology ensures safe measurements even under difficult conditions, e.g. if the bulk material contains conductive elements with up to 12dS/m pore water conductivity. The radar-based evaluation of the conductance (RbC – Radar based Conductance) enables to establish the mineral content in the measured material and consequently ensures an improved quality control.
The intelligent pre-processing of the measurement values featuring smooth mean value accumulation, adjustable filters, and up to 15 calibration curves for the calibration which is already conducted in the sensor itself. Usually, external evaluation devices are not required.
A RS485 interface enables network operation of the sensor. It already contains a data bus protocol for the connection of several SONO sensors.
The connection of the sensor to industrial buses such as Profibus, Ethernet, etc. is possible via optional external modules (available upon
request).

The tailor made solution for measuring bore hole humidity in
hardened concrete.
The James Instruments Humitest System allows the concrete practitioner to monitor and ensure that a new structure is dry enough to proceed with the next phase of construction. This is especially critical for concrete structures requiring a coating, carpeting or similar floor or covering treatment. Installing such treatments before the concrete is sufficiently dry will typically cause expensive failures in the covering treatment. The only accurate way to ensure that the concrete is sufficiently dry enough to safely avoid expensive re-work is via a bore hole humidity test system, such as the Humitest System™.
The system works by first boring a hole into the concrete and inserting a plastic tube in the hole. The plastic tube is then plugged and the system is set to stabilize and the humidity to reach equilibrium. The probe is then inserted into the plastic tube, left to stabilize for a short period of time, and then a reading is taken.
The sleeve is recommended to give readings at various depths in the concrete. As concrete moisture distribution is typically very uneven it is recommended to take readings at different depths depending on the structures exposure.

SONO-MIX: The new Concrete Sensor – Measures directly in the Mixer.
Highest accuracy at the measurement of moisture and material composition in fresh concrete – directly in the mixer using state-of-the-art RbC technology.
Higher safety at the production of fresh concrete due to the precise measurement of the moisture as well as the radar-based conductance (RbC – Radar based Conductance) up to 50dS/m. RbC enables conclusions regarding further parameters of the material recipe such as the cement content and the slope of
fresh concrete with the effect of a more reliable quality control and higher cost-effectiveness because recipe errors are prevented.
The novel and very robust sensor head (15 mm thick) consists of wear-resistant hardened steel with a rectangular ceramic window. It is fastened with 4 screws and can easily be exchanged. In case of abrasion, a recalibration is not necessary.
The intelligent pre-processing of the measurement values with smooth mean value accumulation, adjustable filters, and the storage of up to 15 calibration curves for the calibration which is already conducted in the sensor itself. Usually, external evaluation devices are not required.
Two variably adjustable analogue outputs 0(4)...20mA enable the easy connection to any control system.
A RS485 interface enables the network operation of the sensor. It already contains a data bus protocol for the connection of several SONO sensors. The connection of the sensor to industrial buses such as Profibus, Ethernet, etc. is possible via optional external modules (available upon request).
