Cylindrical roller bearings
The cylindrical roller Series includes several variants to permit accurate bearing selection and, therefore, improve machine efficiency. SNR's quality and innovation are at the heart of these bearings whose optimised contact between roller and raceway reduces internal loads.
The SNR cylindrical roller bearing range is recommended for high radial load and high rotating speed applications. However axial loads must remain low.
Technical data:
Puce fleche jaune Standard polyamide 6.6 cage with 25% glass fibre fill (operating temperature: 102°C to 150°C at peak).

Single row cylindrical roller bearings with cage are units comprising solid inner and outer rings together with cylindrical roller and cage assemblies. The outer rings have rigid ribs on both sides or are without ribs, the inner rings have one or two rigid ribs or are designed without ribs. The cage prevents the cylindrical rollers coming into contact with each other during rolling.
The cylindrical roller bearings are very rigid, can support high radial loads and, due to the cage, are suitable for higher speeds than the full complement designs. Bearings with suffix E have a larger roller set and are thus designed for extremely high load carrying capacity.
The bearings can be taken apart and can therefore be fitted and dismantled more easily. Both bearing rings can therefore have an interference fit.
Single row cylindrical roller bearings with cage are available as non-locating, semi-locating and locating bearings.

Spherical roller thrust bearings
To meet the most precise specifications, SNR proposes a permanently optimised spherical roller bearing range, providing even higher robustness.
Of small footprint, E Series roller thrust bearings are designed to sustain high mechanical loads. They accept very high axial loading, while featuring low susceptibility to shocks. However, radial loading must remain moderate. Admissible misalignment is to the order of 2° and rotating speed is low.
The high loads likely to be applied to these thrust bearings require oil lubrication (lubrication ports are provided). Grease lubrication can only be envisioned for low rotating speeds, under moderate loading.
Thanks to their detachable components the SNR thrust bearings are interchangeable.

Tapered roller bearings
Tapered roller bearings are angular contact bearings comprised of separate components (cones and cups), facilitating installation. By design they are suitable for combined loading. They can sustain very high loads (axial load in one direction) and tolerate slight misalignment.
Always fitted oppositely with a bearing of the same nature, they provide high assembly stiffness, particularly when pre-loaded. Their load capacity associated with their versatility makes them the second most commonly used items, after radial-contact ball bearings.
SNR proposes tapered roller bearings in metric or inches dimensions.
Technical data:
Puce fleche jaune Stamped sheet or synthetic cages.
Puce fleche jaune Open bearings.
Puce fleche jaune Clearance determined by bearing adjustment upon fitting, (i.e. by adjusting the initial relative position of the cones versus the cups). Adjustment determines a mechanical clearance (positive clearance) or a preload (negative clearance).
Puce fleche jaune Suffix B : increased contact angle.

IKO Crossed Roller Bearings are compact bearings with their rollers alternately crossed at right angles to each other between inner and outer rings. They can take loads from any directions at the same time such as radial, thrust and moment loads. The rollers make line-contact with raceway surfaces, and , therefore, elastic deformation due to bearing loads is very small. These bearings are widely used in the rotating parts of industrial robots, machine tools, medical equipment, etc., which require compactness, high rigidity and high rotational accuracy. In addition, bearings made of stainless steel or those with inner and outer rings provided with mounting holes are also available on request.

Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are used almost exclusively in the metal industry(Rolling mills). Their friction is relatively low when compared with other roller bearings. As they are normally mounted with an interference fit on the roll neck, they are particularly suitable for rolling mill applications where the rolling speed is high.
Since very many rollers can be incorporated, the radial load carrying capacity is exceptionally high. Multi-row cylindrical roller bearings are unable to accommodate axial loads but they can be mounted together with deep groove or angular contact ball bearings or with tapered roller bearings to help accommodate any axial loads.
HOYI is very accomplished in making Four row cylindrical roller bearings. The dimensional accuracy is P6 and running accuracy is P5 (same with SKF accuracy) We have seen the over inflated prices and the impossibly long lead times being offered. We are offering a quality alternative, with very reasonable lead times and at a competitive price.

NSK manufactures a complete range of cylindrical roller bearings. Both metric and inch sizes are available in bore sizes ranging from 1/2" to 1320 mm.
By virtue of the line contact between rolling elements and raceways, cylindrical roller bearings have high radial load capacity and are suited to high speed applications.
There are several designs, designated NU, NJ, NUP, N or NF for single row bearings and NNU or NN for double row types. In each case, the designation defines the bearing ring rib configuration.
For single row bearings NU and N types the inner and outer rings can move axially, in both directions, relative to one another. These are suited to use as ‘free-end’ bearings.
The other configurations are capable of sustaining axial loads. Double row bearings are used primarily in machine tool applications having high radial rigidity. Both NNU and NN configurations are ‘free-end’ types.
Pressed steel, machined brass and polyamide cages are available. Single row extra capacity designs can also be supplied.
For the steel industry NSK manufactures a range of four-row cylindrical roller bearings. These are primarily designed for use as steel mill roll-neck bearings.

Cylindrical roller thrust bearings are designed to operate under heavy axial loads at moderate speeds. They are relatively insensitive to shock loads, are very stiff and require little axial space. As standard they are available as single direction bearings and can only accommodate axial loads acting in one direction.
Cylindrical roller thrust bearings are of separable design, the individual components can be mounted separately. These bearings do not permit any angular misalignment between shaft and housing nor any errors of alignment between the support surfaces in the housing and on the shaft.

Axial cylindrical roller and cage assemblies
Axial cylindrical roller and cage assemblies comprise axial cages with one or two rows of cylindrical rollers. The cage assemblies have particularly small axial section height, high load carrying capacity and high rigidity. They can support axial force from one direction and act as non-locating bearings in a radial direction. Axial cage assemblies are combined with housing or shaft locating washers or are integrated directly in the adjacent construction. If they are used without

The backing bearings based on cylindrical roller bearings have two or three rows of rollers and are available as full complement bearings (without cage) or as caged bearings, with or without integral flanges or flange rings. The advantage of the bearings without flanges lies in their particularly simple geometrical form and their very high radial load carrying capacity.
Cylindrical roller backing bearings without flanges or flange rings cannot accommodate any axial load. It is therefore necessary to position thrust washers of bronze or plastic between the side faces of the outer ring and the support saddles.
Thrust washers are not required with backing bearings with flanges (or flange rings) as the design of these bearings enables them to accommodate simultaneously acting radial and axial forces.
On each backing shaft of a cluster mill, several bearings are installed side by side. With their outside diameter surface in direct contact with the intermediate rolls, these bearings rotate while carrying components of rolling force. Therefore, the outer rings of these bearings are required to have adequate rigidity and fatigue strength, and should be finished with high precision.

Axial spherical roller bearings are single row, self-aligning roller bearings. They comprise solid shaft and housing washers and asymmetrical barrel rollers with cages. The cage holds the roller and cage assembly together with the shaft locating washer. The bearings can be dismantled. The parts of the bearings can be fitted separately.
Axial spherical roller bearings can support very high axial loads and permit relatively high speeds. Since the raceways are at an angle to the bearing axis, the bearings can also support radial loads.
