Since the rolling elements in cylindrical roller bearings make line contact with raceways,these bearings can accommodate heavy radial loads . The rollers are guided by ribs on either the inner or outer ring ,therefore these bearings aer also suitablefor high speed applications.Furthermore, cylindrical roller bearings are separable ,and relatively easy to install and disassemble even when interference fits are required.

Single row cylindrical roller bearings can accommodate heavy radial loads and high speeds. They are manufactured in several different designs,the main difference being in the configuration of the flanges .The most popular are the NU,N,NJ and NUP designs.

Spherical roller bearings are double row,self-reraining units comprising solid outer ring with a concave raceway,solid inner rings and barrel rollers with cages.The inner rings with cylindrial or tapered bores.The symmetrical barrel rollers freely align themselves to the concave outer ring raceway.As a result,shaft deflections and mislignments of the bearing seats are compensated.

Tapered roller bearings are designed so the tapered vertex of the raceway surfaces of the inner and outer rings and rollers converge at one point on the certerline of the bearing. Due to this design feature,rollers move along the center of theraceway surfaces. The tapered rollers are guided by the compound force of the inner and oter raceway surfaces which keep them pressed up against the large rib on the raceway surfaces which keep them pressed up against the large rib on the inner ring.A large variety of these bearings,including single,double,and four row arrangements,are in use both in metric and inch series.

Cylindrical roller bearings
Cylindrical rollers have linear contact with the raceway,and the bearings can carry heavier load. Applications are found in situations characterized by heavy load and shock load and also high rotation speed.
The N type and NU type bearings can be movable along the shaft. They can adapt the position changes between the shaft and housing caused by the thermal expansion or the mounting erro and are most suitable for free end shafts.
NJ and NF types can accept certain axial load in one direction, and NUP type can accept certain axial load in two directions.
Inner ring and outer ring can be separable, and they are conbenient to mount and dismount.
The rigidity in carrying radial load in the NNU and NN types make them applicable for machine tool spindles.
FC, DCD and FCDP type can carry comparatively heave radial load and are mainly applied for mill rolls.
Applications of these bearings are mostly found in middle-sized and large-sized motors, electricity generators, internal comubustion engines,machine tool spindles, decelerarion devices, unloading and lifting machines and other industral machines.

SPUR REDUCTION GEARHEAD
Design - Gear series CS33/ 28 contains Brass gears and steel pinions to ensure
longer life and better wear and tear properties. The gears are fixed on
hardened steel spindles polished to a mirror finish. These spindles rotate
between bronze plates which ensures silent running. The output shaft rotates in a sintered bushing. The whole assembly is covered with a plastic ring. All the bearings are permanently lubricated and therefore requires no maintenance. The motor is screwed to the gear box from inside. Design - Gearhead GB5P, the most popular gearhead, is a multi step gear box with all polyacetal gears which rotate on steel spindles which are polished to a mirror-finish and introduced between metal plates with a plastic frame. All bearings are permanently lubricated and therefore require no maintenance. Motor is attached to the gear box by means of spring clip. Thicker shafts (Ø 6-7mm) mounted in robust bushings (Ø12mm) are available (GB5PS). Similarly the gears at the output end can be metal (GB5PH) with thick shafts & robust
bushings (GB5PHS). Sintered gears variant also possible (GB5Si) GB5P can also be combined with small DC Motors. To achieve higher gear torque,GB5P can be mounted on GB4. Linear drives also possible with small sized motors (Ø<36mm).Torque can be increased upto 10 kgcm by using all metal gears .

GEAR SERIES - GB2
SPUR REDUCTION GEARHEAD.
Design - In GB2 gearhead, spur gears rotate on hardened steel spindles which are polished to a mirror finish. In order to damp running noise at slow running times and low motor loads, the initial spur gears after the rotor shaft are made of injection moulded poly acetal. The spur gears close to the output shaft on the other hand, are made of metal. The output shaft is mounted in two special brass bushes. The entire gear train is put between metal plates with a plastic frame. It is permanently lubricated and therefore requires no maintenance. Thicker shaft (Ø 6-7mm) mounted in robust bushings (Ø 12) are available in a new variant (GB2S). Single-way or two way slipping clutches can
also be installed to enable the output shaft to be rotated while the motor is stationary. GB2 can also be combined with small DC Motors. To achieve higher gear torque, GB2 can be mounted on GB4. Linear drives also possible with small sized motors (Ø<36mm).
