Axial needle roller bearings
Axial needle roller bearings are units comprising axial needle roller and cage assemblies and axial bearing washers with a centring spigot. They can be combined with drawn cup needle roller bearings and needle roller bearings. The axial running surface for the needle roller and cage assembly must be hardened and ground.
Axial needle roller and cage assemblies
Axial needle roller and cage assemblies comprise plastic or metal axial cages with integrated needle rollers and have a very small axial section height. They can support high axial forces in one direction. Radial loads must be supported by separate means. Axial needle roller and cage assemblies require hardened and ground axial running surfaces for use as raceways.

NSK supply needle roller bearings through a joint venture of over forty years between NSK Ltd. and The Torrington Company (NSK-TORRINGTON).
Needle roller bearings contain slender rollers with a length of 3 to 10 times their diameter. The ratio of the bearing outside diameter to the inscribed circle diameter is small and, as a result, they have a high radial load capacity.
NSK-TORRINGTON can supply a full range of needle roller bearings including drawn-cup radial bearings with a pressed steel outer ring or solid radial bearings with a machined outer ring. The range also includes cam followers, roller followers, needle bearings for airframes and thrust needle bearings.
To prevent the ingress of contamination, NSK-TORRINGTON needle roller bearings can also be supplied with contact seals, non-contact labyrinth seals or flingers.

Needle roller bearings are roller bearings with cylindrical rollers which are thin and long in relation to their diameter. They are referred to as needle rollers. In spite of their low cross section the bearings have a high load carrying capacity and are thus extremely suitable for bearing arrangements where radial space is limited.
The SKF range of needle roller bearings is extensive and, in addition to customized designs, it comprises the following types:
- Needle roller and cage assemblies
- Drawn cup needle roller bearings with open ends and with closed end.
- Needle roller bearings with and without flanges with and without inner ring
- Sealed needle roller bearings with and without inner ring.

Needle roller and cage assemblies are single or double row units comprising cages and needle rollers.
Since their radial section is no greater than the diameter of the needle rollers, needle roller and cage assemblies allow bearing arrangements with a very small radial design envelope to be achieved. They have very high load carrying capacity, are suitable for high speeds and can be easily fitted.
If the raceways are produced to high geometrical accuracy, bearing arrangements with high runout accuracy can be achieved.
The radial internal clearance can be influenced by the needle roller sort and by the shaft and housing tolerance.
Needle roller and cage assemblies require a hardened and ground raceway on the shaft and in the housing.

Needle roller thrust bearings can support heavy axial loads, are insensitive to shock loads and provide stiff bearing arrangements which require a minimum of axial space. They are single direction bearings and can only accommodate axial loads acting in one direction. Particularly compact bearing arrangements can be made, taking up no more space than a conventional thrust washer, if the faces of adjacent machine components can serve as raceways for a needle roller and cage thrust assembly. For applications where adjacent components cannot serve as raceways, the assemblies can also be combined with washers of various designs.

McGill has a broad variety of heavy-duty needle bearings with two series to choose from: CAGEROL & GUIDEROL Bearings.
CAGEROL Cage Type Needle Bearings are designed to accommodate higher speeds and some misalignment. Crowned rollers help increase the load rating of the bearings and steel cages provide accurate roller guidance.
GUIDEROL Heavy-Duty Needle Bearings with center guided rollers utilize a full complement of rollers extending virtually the complete width of the outer race for maximum support. They are designed to provide higher static load capacities and more radial rigidity in applications involving gears, rollers, sheaves, levers, etc.

Surface treatment
The needle scalers can be used to remove rust, old paint-layers or concrete from surfaces. Also the removal of welding flux form the welding
seam is made easy be using the appropriate needle scaler. A wide range of shapes and sizes is available.
RSI
Repetitive strain injury, repetitive stress injury, or RSI is a term that most people have heard of. RSI is really a blanket name that is used to describe many different types of soft tissue injury including carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitus. A mixture of bad ergonomics, poor posture, stress, and repetitive motion usually causes it. If you work with needle scalers on a daily basis you are certainly at risk from repetitive strain injury. It may not be life threatening, but RSI has the potential to cause crippling disability
and pain. Early treatment is the key to success, because recovery can be a very slow process. Better of course is prevention.

Chipping hammers
Choose the tools that give the best results in the toughest working conditions, yet are easy on the operator. These are effective, reliable tools for fettling of castings, chipping operations in the mechanical industry, hole making and light demolition of concrete.
- RRF21/31 have a sturdy D-handle in light metal alloy for high power-to-weight and steady grip. The compact, vibrationcontrolled (2.5 m/s2) design offers good accessibility and ease of use.
- RRD37/57 are light, quiet and have a long service life. They have light alloy tool casings, very low vibration (below 2.5 m/s2) and noise levels, vibration damping in both hand grips, and piped away exhaust.
Atlas Copco chipping hammers of type RRC are used mainly: in foundries, in the heavy engineering industry and for holemaking and light demolition in the building industry.
- Dependable their robust construction makes them highly dependable.
- Efficient RRC65 and RRC75 have a blow rate which makes them particularly suitable for roughening.
- Chisel retainer for safer jobs all chipping hammers are delivered with a chisel retainer as standard. For the same reason, you should go in for a tool that you can guide via the machine itself and not by holding the chisel.
