The BinMaster 3DLevelScanner utilizes a 2-dimensional array beam-former that sends very low frequency, dust-penetrating acoustical pulses and receives echoes of the pulses from multiple points on the surface of the material in the bin. The 3DLevelScanner offers multiple point accuracy as the device takes measurements from multiple points versus a single point, thereby taking into account variations that can occur on material surfaces. Standard ultrasonic, radar or cable-based units measure just one point and determine a single distance, while the 3DLevelscanner takes measurements from multiple points within the bin, ensuring greater accuracy.
The low frequency technology penetrates dust, making it suitable for environments where ultrasonics and radar may fail. It is unaffected by material type and is appropriate for powders, granulates, pellets and other solids with no need for special calibration. Employing non-contact measurement, it is suitable for foods, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. There is no risk of moving parts coming into contact with bin material. It offers long measurement range of up to 220 feet and is appropriate for tall bins (taller than they are wide). Three independent transducers promote accuracy and system redundancy, making it one of the most advanced technologies available.
The 3DLevelScanner provides the user a scaled 4-20mA output that can represent either the product or headroom volume. Using an optional HART or RS-485 connection, the user can also connect to the scanner using the 3DLevelManager software. This advanced software allows the user to view real-time data from the scanner and make configuration changes remotely from a PC.

Protective coating extends the scope for use
In the past ultrasonic sensors could often not be used for measuring corrosive media levels or in applications involving machinery and equipment being cleaned with corrosive liquids. This was very much down to the corrosive effect of these liquids and their emitted gases on the ultrasonic transducers. In some instances the zws sensor had to be dispensed with altogether to avoid liquids or gases damaging the sensor plastic cover.
A special zws sensor design is now on the market. It involves the entire sensor housing including the ultrasonic transducer up to the connecting cable being provided with a special parylene protective coating. As a result, the whole of the sensor is hermetically protected.
Thanks to this novel protective coating, zws ultrasonic sensors can now be used in corrosive environments. This new sensor range is called crz.

Ultrasound level sensor SIMATIC PXS
Recording of fill levels from a distance of 3 cm to 10 m
Our sonar proximity switches sense objects of varying materials, shapes, colors or consistencies with absolute precision, flexibility and reliability.
The ultrasound level sensor is proper for level applications in containers due to its design and its technical constructions. The devices feature two switching outputs to which different distances can be assigned. This allows, for example, the minimum and maximum fill level in a tank to be evaluated. Regardless whether the objects are liquid, solid, powdery or even transparent.

Brings on intensively bundled sound field directly to the measuring point
The new SoundPipe can be used with each and every zws-15 sensor. It directs sound to the measuring point thus allowing measurements to be taken in drill holes and openings with diameters under 3 mm.
Since the zws-15 sensor blind zone is inside the SoundPipe, measurements can be directly taken as from the sound outlet opening.
The SoundPipe is slipped onto the zws-15 sensor at the front and secured with plastic adhesive.
A typical field of application is measuring levels in microplate wells which are used in medical analysis technology. The SoundPipe can be directly placed over the opening; this makes exact positioning that much easier.

Gobius is installed and ready to use in 30 minutes!
Gobius is the first level indicator in the world that measures the contents of tanks in stainless steel, steel, aluminum, plastic and fibre glass from the OUTSIDE. Gobius is reliable, regardless of the tank’s size, shape, or amount of deposit on the inside of the tank wall. Level indication conducted from the outside of the tank means contact free measurement. The advantages of this is highly appreciated by the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries, where demands on handling of corrosive and sterile liquids are very high.
Very easy to calibrate
No tanks look the same. There are always differences in e.g. size, construction, thickness and age. In order to compensate for these differences you have to calibrate the tank before you start to use your Gobius. However, the calibration only takes a few seconds, all you need to do is to press a button while the tank is full or empty.
The Gobius Technology (patented)
Level indicator Gobius is based on our innovative Gobius Technology, best described as ”knock and listen”. Every sensor that is placed onto the tank wall consists of a shaker and an accelerometer. When the shaker creates a vibration in the tank wall, the accelerator measures the size of the vibration and passes the data on to the control unit. Each sensor is only 26 mm high with a diameter of 70 mm.
Complete system
On the sensors there are strips of tape that are provided to attach the sensors directly onto the surface of your tank. All necessary cables and plugs needed to connect the sensors and panel with the control unit and to external systems are included.

Sensor membrane with resistant protective film
Filling often entails some spatter getting onto the sensor membrane. This often hardens so that after a lengthy operating period soiling on the sensor membrane can only be mechanically removed. The risk here is of the sensor membrane also getting damaged.
The new protective film of the crm+ sensors now makes it easy to remove caked-on soiling, such as hardened casting compound and cement spatter.
The protective film is also highly resistant to corrosive media.
The threaded sleeve is made of 1.4571 stainless steel.

Extremely short microwave impulses with low emitted power in the C-band and K-band frequency range are emitted by the antenna system to the measured product, reflected by the product surface and received again by the antenna system. They spread with light velocity and the time from the emission to receipt of the signals is proportional to the level in the vessel. A special time spreading procedure enables a reliable and precise measurement of extremely short time periods.
By simply entering the vessel dimensions, a level-proportional signal can be displayed. An adjustment with emptied and filled vessel is no longer necessary!
The spreading of microwaves is virtually not affected by the ambient temperature and ambient pressure. Radar sensors are ideal for use under arduous process conditions. Pressures from vacuum to 160 bar and temperatures between -40 and 400°C are no problem for a radar level measurement.
Fluctuating product compositions or complete changes of the product do not influence the measurement result. A new adjustment is not necessary.

These self-contained Ultrasonic Sensors provide level control of both liquid and bulk materials. This gives the user a viable alternative to bubblers, floats, capacitance probes, and pressure transmitters.
With sensing ranges of 30 and 40 feet respectively many tanks are within reach. Their incorporation of a microprocessor design makes it possible to achieve signal conditioning. This gives the sensor the ability to process the return ultrasonic echo and distinguish between false targets and real targets.
With the incorporation of a microcontroller into the design of the RPS-3000PVC and RPS-4000 many of the common problems facing long range sensing applications have been overcome. Software was then written to optimize the performance characteristics of the sensors. The artificial intelligence analyzes and conditions the return ultrasonic echo. This process filters out any false echoes and electrical noise. An additional task that the microcontroller does is temperature compensation.
The following is a brief list of features for the RPS-3000PVC and RPS-4000.
SIMPLE CALIBRATION: The sensing window can be adjusted by using one of three easy methods. NOTE: When the sensors are powered up and the control lines not used, they are factory preset to maximum range.

The RPS-409A-5V analog ultrasonic sensors are self contained in a 30mm barrel housing.
The RPS-409A-5V has temperature compensation built in to provide accurate readings throughout the entire operating temperature range.
They are powered by 15 - 24VDC with reverse polarity protection. The RPS-409A-5V have a short circuit protected analog 0 - 5VDC output. The analog
voltage is a fixed volts per inch based on the maximum range of the unit. For example using the RPS-409A-96-5V, the output is a linear 52.1mV per inch. A target placed 12 inches from the sensor will result in an output signal of 625mV or a target placed at 96 inches from the sensor will result in an output of 5V.
For set up purposes an LED indicator is provided. The LED is Green when not detecting and changes to Red when a target moves into place. The sensor is completely sealed and the connection is made by way of IP and NEMA rated cables.
Besides the input and output lines there is a sync/Tx line provided. This can be used for connecting multiple sensors together to prevent cross talk, or to force the sensor to transmit at a particular time.
The RPS-409A-5V is designed to take advantage of today's PLC and computer analog
input cards. The analog card chosen will determine the resolution of the system. The numerical values that are programmed into the PLC or computer will determine the zero and span.
If a set point or set points are required in the application, please refer to the Migatron SPC-701, SPC-704, or M-1000 control products. Both the SPC-704 and M-1000 can also provide excitation power to drive the sensor.
