thermoMETER: Precise non-contact temperature measurement from -40 to 1,800°C
The thermoMETER product group is targeted at industrial users. The infrared sensors comprise eleven products for stationary use. Amongst others, this includes products such as thermoMETER CT, which has external electronics. This sensor operates in temperatures from -40°C up to +975°C. This also includes the CT laser, which uses an integrated laser optical system to mark actual spot sizes at every distance. The CTglass version of this laser sensor is designed for use in glass production. The miniature sensors in the thermoMETER CS and CS micro series have integrated electronics located in the sensor head in the case of theCS, and directly integrated in the cable for the CS micro. This is particularly beneficial if space is restricted. The range also includes special sensors for use at high ambient temperatures of up to 250°C and for very high object temperatures of up to 1,800°C. A sensor with a response time of less than 3ms is also available very fast processes. To round off the range, an extensive list of accessories are provided for all sensors. These include various optical systems, air purge units, mounting aids and solid cases.

The new MLE Series is a range of miniature infrared temperature sensors with separate electronics.
MLE sensors are capable of measuring temperatures in the range -20°C to 500°C and are available with either a current, voltage or thermocouple output.
The miniature sensing head measures just 18 mm diameter x 45 mm. It is made of stainless steel, sealed to IP65, and will operate in ambient temperatures up to +70°C without additional cooling. This makes the MLE Series ideal for applications where there is only a small amount of room available to mount the sensor or the ambient temperature around the sensing head is higher than normal.
The electronics module measures 98 mm x 64 mm x 34 mm. It is made of die-cast aluminium, sealed to IP65, and will operate in ambient temperatures up to +50°C. It is powered from a 24 VDC (28 VDC max) power source.
The emissivity setting is fixed at 0.95, making the MLE Series suitable for the majority of applications where the target is made of a non-reflective material such as paper, plastic, rubber, cloth, food etc. or it can be used to measure metals that are painted, anodised or oxidised.

GeoSil™ Pure Silica Core Optical Fibers are now available in single-mode or multimode designs for Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and other geophysical well applications. The pure core design is critical to the performance of optical fibers deployed down oil or gas wells where conditions include temperatures that routinely exceed 250°C with high pressure and hydrogen gas. GeoSil fibers are coated with PYROCOAT® polyimide, a specialty coating that allows temperature performance to 300°C and imparts abrasion and chemical resistance plus a small form factor (155 µm diameter) to the sensing fiber in a DTS system. When conventional fibers with germanium-doped cores are exposed to hydrogen at high temperatures, permanent defects can occur. These defects can result in a rise in attenuation which significantly limits the lifetime of the fiber sensor. Optical fiber with a pure silica core is extremely resistant to this phenomenon and can perform far longer in the downhole environment limiting the expense associated with replacement of new sensors. These fibers are part of the GeoFibers™ family of products optimized for geophysical applications.

This module, intended to quantify the relative humidity level and temperature in the ambient atmosphere, is made of a micro-system SPSI UPSICAP MSS Bi-Face G-TUCN.32 type that delivers a variable frequency proportional to humidity, and a resistive temperature sensor (thermistor NTC).
The micro-system making this probe, integrates a humidity cell created in-situ on the upper side of the substrate, while the lower side carries the temperature sensor, the electronic transmitter and the plug-in connector. This functional module is associated to a support with output connection. The surface electrode cell which is directly in contact with water vapor is connected to ground (0V).
It can be associated with modules H-TUTA.32 or H-UTA.32 (output 4-20 mA two wires by independant channel). The micro-system module and the substrate of the connector-supply are protected from harsh environment by full moulding, and the sensig side to humidity, can be covered with high efficient atmospheric filter to reduce electrical effects of condensation.
This technology is a major step forward in the field of sensor-transmitters with long-term stability and reduction of mass production cost.

HumiTracTM features a NIST traceable, field-replaceable sensor tip module that allows the end user to replace the sensor on-site and maintain ±2% RH accuracy and NIST traceability. This virtually eliminates the need for time consuming and costly factory calibration, while reducing downtime during service intervals to near zero. HumiTracTM is designed to be highly configurable in the field - by minimizing the necessary number of orderable configurations, GE reduces distributor inventory costs and provides maximum flexibility to the installer. All versions feature field-selectable outputs (0-5V, 0-10V, 4-20mA) and passive temperature versions incorporate both a 3K and 10K O thermistors. Signal-conditioned temperature versions are available scaled from 0 to 50°C or -40 to 60°C. HumiTrac is available in humidity accuracies of ±2% or ±5%, and offered in wall mount, duct mount and outdoor air configurations.

Hydro-Probe Orbiter - Moisture Sensor for Rotating Pan, Static & Planetary Mixers
The World's first rotating microwave sensor for measurement of moisture and temperature in rotating pan, static and planetary mixers.
The Hydro-Probe Orbiter is the world's first rotating digital microwave sensor designed specifically to measure moisture and temperature in the mixer. With a choice of mounting options for static, rotating pan and planetary mixers the sensing head slices easily through the mix providing accurate moisture measurement of the material in real time.
Originally supplied to the concrete industry, the Hydro-Probe Orbiter can also be mounted as a static sensor underneath a bin or above a belt conveyor and is therefore easily adaptable for use in other industries such as sand, aggregates, cereal, animal feed and fish meal.
The Hydro-Probe Orbiter comprises of 2 parts - the head unit which houses the electronics and connections and the sensing arm with a hard wearing ceramic head. Both the sensing arm and the head unit can be easily changed eliminating the need to replace the entire sensor. To extend the life of the Hydro-Probe Orbiter, the Orbiter should always be fitted with wear protection sleeves.
