Numbering machines: Basis of the numbering machines in such a numbering system is a two-unit construction. The upper unit, containing the mechanical moving parts, can be seperated easily from the unit containing the electronic parts by loosening only two screws.
This concept has a lot of advantages in terms of handling and maintenance:
- The mechanical unit with the moving parts can be handled, cleaned and maintained in the same way as conventional mechanical numbering machines.
- The second unit, containing the sensor electronics, stays on the press as no cleaning and regular maintenance is required.
- After re-connecting the upper mechanical unit no new positioning is required, all machines are in the proper location (no move of lower adaptor unit).
- The numbering machines are equipped with a pre-inking system.
- The non-automatic wheels are locked by means of a spring loaded pin; to turn the wheels one has to push the pin, after releasing it again the wheels are automatically locked.

- Mark multiple characters at once for quick and consistent identification
- Wheels and frames are manufactured from top-quality steel and heat treated for optimum life
- Direct-reading wheels allow for an easy front view to see which characters are in marking position
Standard and custom manual and automatic numbering heads are designed for quick, easy serial stamping. Can be used by hand or in an impact press.
Shank-Style Numbering Heads
One-piece wheel and ratchet construction for reliability and consistency, shank-style numbering heads can be used with Pannier's Mark-First® Impact Presses or your own press. Standard sizes range from 3/64” to 1/4" characters, and custom sizes are available.
Manual Head – Features locking levers for changing characters on each wheel. After unlocking, each wheel can be turned by hand.
Automatic Head – Ten-wheel heads with up to six automatically indexing wheels make serial numbering fast and easy.
Hand-Held Multi-Stamper
Hand-operated multiple wheel head stamps up to 10 figures with one impact on steel, wood or plastic. Available with one wheel quick-change feature, other wheels can be changed with a spanner wrench.

Components come in many shapes and sizes. Because of this the marking location on these components can sometimes be difficult to reach. Therefore, we manufacture a wide range of standard heads to suit most applications. If needed, we can make a bespoke head to meet a specific requirement.
Rocker Marking Head
The Metaletch Rocker Markers are designed for large marking applications such as logo's or label designs for marking onto flat surfaces. This is also available in a variety of sizes
