Yokota impulse wrenches are widely used for tightening jobs in the assembly industry, where accurate torque tolerances are necessary. Impulse tools are light, powerful, small and very importantly, have no kick-back. The Yokota range of impulse tools is increasing fast, starting at 6Nm to tighten small joints, and goes up to 600Nm. Evaluation of tightening processes in car assembly shows that tightening joints uses 10% of the total assembly time. Working with faster tools therefore can speed up
assembly lines substantially.

Ingersoll Rand pulse tools meet the new demands of assembly operations with high speed rundown of fasteners, exceptional accuracy and consistency in torque delivery, and operator-oriented design. A unique hydraulic impulse mechanism - driven by an air motor - applies torque to fasteners with a degree of control not possible in conventional tools. The result is precision fastening, with virtually no over-torquing in critical applications. Plus, tool users benefit from the added pluses of reduced transmission of torque reaction and vibration, as well as improved balance and quiet operation.
Ingersoll Rand offers standard, shut-off, and transducerized pulse tools to meet specific application requirements for accuracy and operator preference with broad torque coverage of 4 to 290 Nm.
|
|
Stall-type nutrunners consist of an air motor
connected to the output spindle by planetary gearing
and angle heads. In operation, the tool runs down
the fastener until the torque resistance in the
fastener causes the tool to stall. When the tool stalls,
the throttle is released by the operator and the tool is
removed. Stall-type tools can produce accurate
torques, especially on applications with varying
torque rates

The ErgoPulse principle
The heart of a pulse tool is the hydraulic pulse unit, positioned between the air motor and the outgoing shaft. Since the pulses are very short, there is almost no reaction force in thehandle, only the much lower motor torque is transferred to the operator’s hand. The pulse unit increases the torque generated by the motor 50-100 times. As there is no metal-to-metal impact in a pulse tool, pulse tools provide a softer, more controlled pulse with considerably less vibrations and noise than an impact wrench. Together with good balance and low weight the result is a tool that
is extremely comfortable to operate. The reliability and accuracy of the ErgoPulse
tools make them ideal for many situations.
A complete range
The ErgoPulse range covers torque from 2-900 Nm and are available in both shut-off and non shut-off versions. The shut-off pulse tools – PT, PTS and PTX
types – will shut-off the air supply as soon as the pre-set torque has been reached.
With a shut-off tool the operator influence is minimized. The result is increased accuracy and faster tightening. The non shut-off tools – C and XS types – produce
pulses until the operator releases the trigger. They are preferred in applications
where it is an advantage for the operator to be able to control the process
by shutting off the tool manually. Atlas Copco pulse tools are available
in straight and pistol grip versions.
Probably the most powerful pulse tool in the world
The newest addition to our PTX is the EP 25 PTX , which builds up torques between 450-900 Nm extremely fast and only weighs about 10 kilogram.

Cleco offers over 500 nutrunners, most of which
can be equipped with a wide variety of drive
options. This generates over 3,000 different
nutrunner combinations, allowing the exact tool
with precise features to be chosen for specific
job applications.
The following items should be considered before
selecting the tool: ergonomic factors associated
with the man/tool/task relationship, torque and
speed requirements, tool and fastener
accessibility, fastener joint variations, operator
skill level and air supply.
Tool performance can be affected by air supply.
Plant air line pressure to the tool will vary widely
due to several factors: distance of tool from
compressor; size of transmission lines, air drops,
manifolds, hose length and diameter, and
fittings. All power tool specifications are based
on the tool receiving air at 90 p.s.i.g. (6.2 bar)
with adequate air flow volume while the tool is
running.

Screwdrivers are available with various impact mechanisms. Each application has it’s own mechanism. Therefore please take note of the
information below before purchasing a tool.
1-Hammer
The 1-hammer system makes 1 impact per rotation at 1 side of the anvil. This causes a higher energy per blow. The screwdrivers with the 1-hammer system are especially suitable for wood and steel screws.
2-Hammer
The 2-hammer system makes 2 impacts per rotation at both sides of the anvil. This mechanism is used for wood and steel screws and works more quiet than the 1-hammer system.
Direct drive
These direct drive screwdrivers are suitable for selftapping screws and wood screws.
Clutch mechanism
Screwdrivers with a clutch type mechanism are used for standard applications with normal joints. The mechanism works by means of
spring pressure. When reaching the torque the mechanism slips.
Shut-off mechanism
To comply with the ever increasing demands for screwdriving accuracy and work safety, we present a new range of pneumatic screwdrivers with a maximum torque repeatability. Along with the exceptional torque accuracy, the new Jointech Plus 2 torque control system has automatic high speed air shut off to allow for a considerable reduction of the reaction to the operator's hand.
