With over 3000 air/oil separator designs for compressors, Mikropor is one of the leading air/oil separator manufacturers in the world today.
The primary purpose of Mikropor air/oil separators in rotary screw and vane type air compressors is to separate oil from compressed air. Mikropor separators trap oil by allowing it to coalesce and drain down to a sump - while allowing compressed air to pass through. From the sump, oil will be removed by a scavenge line of some type and returned to the reservoir to be recompressed in a continuous cycle.
Mikropor separators are constructed of a depth loading media and have excellent oil removal capabilities that provide vital air/oil separation required in high-performing compressor systems. Mikropor separators have an oil removal rating of 1-2 ppm (parts per million) - so the oil loss in a compressor working with Mikropor air/oil separators is negligible.
Mikropor separators feature a unique Helix Tube Construction that provides added strength and collapse resistance.
In addition, some special Mikropor separators use fluted - not punched or perforated - steel. The flutes provide a diagonal air/oil flow and improve the coalescing performance of Mikropor separators over competitive products. This fluted steel design unique to Mikropor.

The DUO3 off-line oil filter increases the availability and reliability of hydraulic and lubricant oil systems. For optimum oil filtration performance, more often than not filtering takes place in off-line circuits, where the oil filter can operate 24 hours a day independently of the main system, avoiding any changes in pressure and flow.
Fields of application
Typical fields of application include hydraulic systems, lubricating systems, hydraulic presses, injection moulding machines and machine tools. When rebuilding a system we recommend installation of an off line oil filter.
Design
Its low noise level and compact size make the DUO3 ideal for use in many different machines and working environments. For uniform and good circulation and oil filtration, the DUO3 has been fitted with a low pressure pump from our QPM range. This pump has few moving parts and is designed to have a long service life and consume little power.

Cylone unit F60
Areas of application
Removing sedimenting solids from liquids of low viscosity such as water and emulsions. Installation as independent cleaning unit on fine machining machine tools.
Function
Due to tangential streaming-in of the liquid, a primary swirl develops. The heavier particles in the liquid, due to centrifugal force, are pressed to the wall of the cyclone housing. Due to the tapering of the conical cyclone housing, a secondary swirl develops in the lower area which leads the cleaned coolant lubricant back in opposite direction. The dirt particles, together with a small amount of liquid (approx. 1.5 l/min), are removed through the underflow nozzle. The admission pressure must be approx. 2 bar.

Coalescer units
These can be vertical or horizontal vessels with connection sizes up to 48" (1200 mm) NB using the properties of droplet attraction, impingement and coalescence to remove liquid droplets from fluidic streams.
Coalescers are available to separate water and condensates from gaseous hydrocarbons such as natural gas and fuel gas, as well as from ammonia and nitrogen and for both onshore and offshore activities. Also available are coalescers and separators to remove water from liquid hydrocarbons such as diesel, fuel oil, kerosene, some crude fractions.
In all cases the coalescers can be supplied complete with integral filter packs to provide long term in-service life.
Specialist coalescers are available for the separation of difficult to separate duties or where a corrosive main phase fluid is present.
|
|
The coalescer has been especially designed to remove free water from hydraulic circuits. Costeffective and simple in design, it functions without absorption material: special filter material in special configuration retains the small water droplets floating in the medium and removes them.

General description
HOFFMANN pressure filters cleanse coolants such as oils and emulsions of:
- metallic particles
- rubber
- plastics
- glass
The filtering capacity for each filter vessel lies between 150 and 200 l/min.
Soiled coolant is pumped into one, or several simultaneously operating pressure filter vessels. These vessels are equipped with nylon support filters and disposable paper filter bags. The soiled coolant penetrates these filter elements from the inside out, and the particles of impurities are trapped in the filter bag.
The so-called filter cake is formed as filtered impurities build up in the pressure filter vessel filter bag. This filter cake represents a high-performance filtering layer that enhances the filtering effect even more. When the filter cake reaches a defined size the throughput capacity of the filter declines and the filter must then be cleaned. Changeover of the facility to the standby pressure filter vessel is made when the signal for cleaning the soiled filter vessel is issued.

BGTS return in-tank filters feature Parker's exclusive magnetic prefiltration core which collects ferromagnetic particles from fluid upstream of the filter element. This feature alone could save hundreds of dollars a year by protecting costly equipment from increased wear and malfunction by assuring that the fluid is as pure as possible when it leaves the filter. Even during bypass due to cold start up, contaminant is collected by the magnetic core, a feature of importance on any fluid power system.
|
|
Parker's Tanktopper Series features:
• Flows to 18 gpm
• 3 micron to 120 micron absolute
• Disposable or recleanable elements
• Visual and electrical indicators
• Microglass long life elements
• Inside-to-outside flow through the element
• Complete contamination removal during element service
• Optional magnetic prefiltration
• Optional dipstick
• Optional airbreather
• No tools required for servicing elements

Contaminated oil is drawn into the Parker Portable Purification System (PVS) by a vacuum of 25 In/Hg. The oil passes through the in-line low watt density heater where the oil is heated to an optimum temperature of 150° F (66°C).
The oil then enters the distillation column where it is exposed to the vacuum through the use of special dispersal elements. This increases the exposed surface area of the oil and converts the water to vapor form, which is then drawn through the condenser by the vacuum pump.
The water-free oil falls to the bottom of the column and is removed by a heavy duty lube oil pump. This pump forces the dry oil through a final particulate removal filter. Clean oil passes out of the unit, back to the reservoir — and into the system.
