A crystal oscillator is defined as a crystal and oscillation circuit combined into one package. This has the advantage of eliminating external parts needed of the oscillation and optimising the operation of the crystal.
Crystal oscillators are often used in microprocessor and microcontroller applications to generate the clock pulses upon which all subsequent timing is based.
In order to determine the exact oscillator for a particular application there are many specific requirements, which are necessary to match. Such things as load condition, stability, supply voltage, and of course package must be first considered before selecting an oscillator.
Epson offezrs a wide range of quartz crystal oscillators :
Crystal oscillator SPXO that has the output function of one frequency. Output is able to be controlled with Output enable pin or Standby pin.
