Melles Griot manufactures state of the art electronic shutters for laboratory and OEM applications. Our IES-series shutters include an adjustable iris diaphragm, X synchronization, and a "manual actuation" lever that allows the shutter to operate without an electrical signal. Our UltraThin-series shutters are designed to fit into restricted spaces. In both series, Spring-steel blades with a Teflon-impregnated, black matte finish, coupled with a reliable, multiblade shutter mechanism guarantee high operational speed and near 100% light extinction as well as smooth and dependable operation. Normally closed and normally open blade configurations are available. Rated nominal voltages for standard solenoids are 3-,6-,12-, 24-, and 48-Vdc. Controllers are available for standard 12-V shutters, and our 12-V shutters include a mating cable.

Among the many diverse custom optical coatings, components
and assemblies that PPC offers are diode-pumped Nd:YAG
resonator mirrors, 50/50 non-polarizing beamsplitters, laser mirrors
and thin-film polarizing beamsplitters.
For all the optical components we
provide, we use only ion-beam-sputtered
(IBS) coatings because our IBS coatings are
significantly more dense, durable, and rugged
than conventional coatings. The IBS coating
process is both accurate and repeatable, resulting
in precision coatings that are easy to
clean, chemically resistant and insensitive to
moisture and other environmental factors.
These are just some of the types of coatings that PPC
does every day on in-house and customer-supplied substrates.
High-energy ion-beam-sputtered thin films that are
accurate, durable and environmentally stable are our forté,
and we can turn around parts in as little as 48 hours!

Features of the 6200 Closed Loop Galvanometer Family
Highest Galvo Speeds and Step Response Times: The 6200H series' positioning speed comes from advanced galvanometer and new actuator design for the highest system resonant frequency and RMS power capability. The newest design of the actuator features extremely high torque along with very little electrical inductance, thus providing high scanner speeds at reduced power supply voltages. These characteristics combine to produce superior system bandwidths, the fastest step response times and the highest repetition rates with excellent wobble and jitter performance.
Maintaining Position Accuracy and Repeatability at High Speeds: CTI's newest innovation in position accuracy is the advanced optical position detector, which was designed to provide high positioning repeatability, linearity and stability over time and temperature while operating at high speeds.
High System Performance and Reliability Over Time: Superior product lifetime and reliability result from disciplined design technique, the best in bearing technology and quality manufacturing processes and workmanship. Our scanner designs are computer modeled and have been life-test proven to billions of cycles of operation. CTI's high standards of manufacturing quality guarantees the performance consistency that you need to design the high quality systems demanded in today's competitive marketplace.

Beam combiners are partial reflectors that combine two or more wavelengths of light -- one in transmission and one in reflection -- onto a single beam path. Commonly ZnSe, ZnS, or Ge, beam combiners are optimally coated to transmit infrared light and reflect visible light, as in combining infrared CO2 high-power laser beams and HeNe visible diode laser alignment beams.

General description
Nutfield Technology's QuantumScan-30 (QS-30) galvanometer scanners are used to position laser beams fast and accurately over millions of cycles. The limited rotation moving magnet motor is coupled to a highly sensitive position detector. The device is controlled through a PID based servo driver to provide amazingly fast and accurate closed loop control.
NTI's engineers are veterans of the scanning industry and have been designing galvos for two decades. They have been continuously researching ways to improve scanner performance, which has lead to several patents and patent pending designs including our exclusive ceramic rotor designs. This first of a kind rotor has exceptionally low inertia and high stiffness, which results in higher bandwidth performance. The QS-30 uses high quality bearings with tested and patent pending bearing preload designs to ensure a long lifetime of operation.
The QS-30 Position Detector was designed close to the mirror for the best possible accuracy. Further position detector refinements give the QS-30 galvanometer up to 10 times greater signal-to-noise; the highest in the industry. This means greater pointing accuracy and repeatability in your application.

The Model 3211 is a workhorse amplifier for driving capacitive loads such as broadband electro-optic (EO) modulators and piezoelectric transducers.
The Model 3211 incorporates high-slew-rate, high-voltage operational-amplifier technology to give you extremely precise linear operation over a wide range of input voltages and frequencies. The ±200-V output will swing our broadband EO modulators (pages 43, 45) through 180° of phase shift with bandwidths of up to 0.6 MHz. The peak-to-peak output noise is less than 100 mV in a 1-MHz bandwidth.
The front-panel controls include an easy-to-reach, high-voltage on/off switch and a DC off-set that sets the output level anywhere from - 200 V to +200 V, allowing an EO amplitude modulator to be biased for optimum linearity without additional components. Two inputs allow signals from separate sources to be sum-med and amplified. Two bias outputs of +200 V and - 200 V allow single-polarity operation for piezoelectric transducers and other compo-nents. A monitor output provides 1/30 of the output voltage for display on an oscilloscope.
