Electro-Chemical Machining (ECM) is based on Faraday's Law of electrolysis. It may be used for machining, drilling, grinding or de-burring.

Process Control
The control of process variables is achieved via information fed from instruments and gauges to the process controller. Machining parameters are recorded and may be displayed in graphic form on a machine-mounted screen.
A signature analysis of the optimum parameters used for any particular operation can be established. Should the parameters deviate from pre-set bands, a warning signal is generated, allowing suitable action to be taken. As this is often an early warning of potential malfunction of some element of the system, serious damage is avoided.
Power Supply
Winbro Group has developed a micro processor controlled, intelligent pulsed power supply which gives superior performance. This is particularly the case where long electrolyte flow paths exist.

Derived from the PVCFLEX 8001 concept, but for higher production rates such as 120 to 160 frames per day, the PVCFLEX 9001 offers the same standard of performance, strength and flexibility.
Profiles of a maximum length of 6.5 meters are transferred automatically from the 10 to 20 bar loader to the bar feeder n°1 and inserted into the machining system comprising 16 electrospindles running at 24,000 rpm.
All the machining of bolt cases, handle recesses, drains, decompression and ventilation fittings, etc., is carried out on all 4 faces. The complete profiles are then conveyed to bar feed n°2 and inserted into the sawing unit to make straight cuts, mitre cuts, V cuts and points.
To balance machining time with respect to sawing time, it is possible to incorporate into the cutting center between 2 and 3 additional machining units, thus obtaining optimum rates. Each machining center is also capable of feeding parts either directly to the operator or, using a 2-axes robot, for unloading and automatic classification.

The new saw unit is made of a strong cast-iron structure. It is tightly fixed under the table and can be tilted by means of two side supports (trunnions): these solutions grant sturdiness, rigidity and a perfect cutting result. The sliding table is made from extruded anodised aluminium with a closed, honeycomb structure. - Speed and accuracy -
The fixed bridge single-piece frame, the motion mechanisms appropriately sized for heavy-duty working loads, the high-performance digital axis and the electrospindle power contribute to guaranteeing high machining speeds in combination with positioning accuracy and finishing quality.
Venus can be configured with a wide range of operating units. The RX4 operating unit emphasises its work field width and the machining speeds. It can also be configured alternately with the 5-axis PX5 unit or the 3-4-axis TX3 operating unit.
The work table is available in the steel version with universal T-shaped guides and standard vacuum system, or with special universal clamping modules, for an immediate work table setting.
- Safety and protection -

The HSM 600 ProdMod is a high speed machine for use in production. The HSM tried and tested basic machine is used as the base which captivates by virtue of its dynamics, compactness, version variety and ergonomics. ProdMod's configuration additionally offers a tool storage tower which is scaleable for 120, 170 or 220 tool positions. A machine cover with chip rinsing nozzles as well as different configurations with regard to chip conveyors and coolant preparation systems.
