The CDD type portable reader can read bi-dimensional codes (2 D code) that have been directly marked on metal or bar code (1 D code) printed on labels.

The new Data Matrix code reader Software: VC Smart Reader
Image processing expert Vision Components introduces its newly developed Data Matrix code reading software. Combined with an intelligent camera, the VC Smart Reader enables quick and reliable identification of 2D codes – depending on the camera type, it provides a maximum reading rate of 150 reads/ sec. Code detection and reading is not affected by the code’s shape and size, the orientation of the code (which can be rotated by 360°) or by the background type (dark-on-bright or bright-on-dark). Mirrored codes are reliably identified and read, just as special code types, such as nailed or dotted codes. Furthermore, reading is not influenced by a covered "L" corner or a partially destroyed "L" pattern of the Data Matrix code and all this without any need of specific parameter settings.
The VC Smart Reader software has been optimized for use with VC40xx, VC44xx, VCSBC40xx and VisiCube camera types.

The special features of the VC Smart Reader Software :

LMI Technologies continues the HexSight legacy by adding powerful extensions and porting HexSight for use in embedded products. Version 4.0 for PC platforms has now been released by LMI and combines color based geometric pattern matching with the existing and already comprehensive machine vision library for inspection. This flexible, high speed machine sorts, collates, orients, and places products in a precise manner. When the machine's vision system senses the orientation of randomly placed products moving rapidly down the eight foot conveyor, the robot picks up the product, properly orients it and deposits it into a bucket conveyor, cartoning operation or other downstream machine. The picking cell performs its functions in a smooth, organized fashion, and integrates seamlessly with other machines on the production line.
