DELTA 355 ALL TERRAIN is the butt fusion machine that will change your concept of working in job site.
DELTA 355 ALL TERRAIN is powered by a low-vibration gas engine, is equipped with front steering wheels and rear traction. The machine body follows the concepts of the new DELTA line like: the new fast-locking-adapters system SMARTLocK, thanks to which is possible to change adapters in few seconds without using any additional tools. The milling cutter and the EASY LIFE control panel are mounted on-board. The EASY LIFE system allows the operator to program and control, in a very easy way, all the welding cycle and it also incorporates a Data-logging to record all the working process. It also features a GPS system that allows the localization of the working place, and the possibility to connect a portable serial printer.
The heating element can be docked in a comfortable on-board support. The machine body, with the four clamps, can be easily removed from the trolley in order to work in ditches. Also the control panel can be removed to allow the operator to control the welding process out from the ditch.
The machine is supplied with two rollers that allow the fast shift of the pipes.
DELTA 355 ALL TERRAIN is suitable for welding under-pressure pipes (PE, PP, PVDF, PB) for the transportation of water, gas and other fluids. It can weld pipes and fittings of diameters between 125 mm and 355 mm.

Wood-weld - completely without additives!
Yes, you read correctly! The wood is rubbed together under pressure:
It is a friction welding which in the wood already existing bonding agent uses, by which friction process activates under pressure unlocked and. The viscose rayon mass, which functions from the wood components lignin, cellulose and Hemicellulosen in an educated manner, as glue layer. The group is supported by the training by physical mechanisms such as Van that Waals forces and hydrogen bonds. The black which raus comes there when welding to see (in the video) are combustion residues by heat with rubbing to develop, therefore also the smoke.
The energy is clean-brought depends not only on the pressure, but also on the frequency, amplitude and the time.
The pressure per 1 cm ² amounts to 100 N, thus 10 kg.
With application in the video a surface is frictionwelded by 500 cm ², that is 50 kN or 5 tons Kraft.
The frequency amounts to approx. 120-150 cycles per second.

Workshop welding machine designed to fabricate fittings like elbows, wyes, tees and crosses (up to Ø 630 mm). All jaws movements are electro¬hydraulically operated, both the open/close movement and the blocking mechanism. Composed of:
a machine body with two hydraulically controlled carriages;
a control panel featuring the Easy Life system, thanks to which it is possible to carry out a whole welding cycle in a simple, intuitive and repeatable way, so that the operator’s interference would be reduced to the minimum. An in-built memory allows the machine to store the data of the welding cycles (including the set diameters and SDR). It is possible to transfer the welding data to a PC through a serial port (USB adaptor connector available) and data-management software. A printer can be connected to the serial port, to obtain a welding report at the end of each welding cycle;
a Teflon-coated heating plate with hydraulic movement (in/out) on
spherical bearings guides;
a milling cutter with hydraulic movement (in/out) on spherical bearings
guides, operated by an electrical engine;
an upper cylinder, to be positioned on the jaws, for welding extra thick
pipes and/or whenever it is necessary to apply high pressures.

Butt Fusion Jointing
Butt fusion technology is the safe, reliable and favorable jointing for a wide dimension range.
GF Piping Systems offers mechanical, hydraulic and CNC-guided fusion machines for on site constructions and the workshop. The fusion areas of the pipes and fittings are heated to fusion temperature and joined by means of mechanical pressure, without using additional materials. A homogeneous joint results.
Socket Fusion Jointing
In this form of fusion jointing, which requires heating tools, the pipe end is inserted into the socket of the fitting; no additional material is used. The pipe end and fitting socket are heated to fusion temperature using a heating bush and a heating spigot, respectively, and are then pushed together.
GF Piping Systems offers a wide range of hand and mechanical guided fusion machines – also for the field-use. The pipe end, fitting socket and heating tools correspond in such a way that the necessary jointing pressure is attained during jointing, resulting in a
Electro Fusion Jointing
In the electro fusion process a heating wire permanently mouled into the fitting gets heated by current at a low voltage. The surrounding material around the wire gets melted and expands due to the warming. The melt starts closing the gap between pipe and fitting, leading to a heat transition to the pipe which also gets heated and melts in the welding zone. The pipe material also expands.
The increasing material expansion between pipe and fitting, which is hindered by the cold zones outside the welding zone, leads to a build up a welding pressure between pipe and fitting and a homogeneous welding connection emerges.

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) has been developed and patented by TWI (The Welding Institute) in Great Britain. We at ESAB are one of the pioneers of the FSW method through our early commitment and work with TWI and we have gained great experience of these practical applications and opportunities. The method is based on forging aluminium components without the temperature exceeding the material's melting point. This is achieved by the use of a rotating tool that moves along the joint and forges the components together. After being forged, the joints are largely free of stress and have a perfect root surface due to being welded from one side. This results in a minimum of supplementary work. Bending tests and tensile tests have been conducted with superb rigidity and fatigue property results. Using this method means that the completed joint only consists of the original material without any inclusions and impurities. We at ESAB continuously develop methods, which means more and more opportunities for suitable applications arise. With large and more powerful spindle units and improved rotating tools, thicknesses of 1.2 - 120 mm flat plate can be forged with total penetration in our FSW machines today.
Suitable ESAB FSW application area
- Shipbuilding
- Offshore platforms
- Aerospace industry
- Railway wagons, trams, underground train carriages
- Automotive industry
- Brewing industry
- Bridge building
- Production of electric motors
- Defence industry
- Cooling elements

HF profile and tube welding units
Easy tubular pipes can also be manufactured by DREISTERN tube welding installations. Its true strong points may however be evidenced by demanding tasks. Should you, for instance, have to produce stainless steel tubes of outstanding quality or contoured tubes with complex cross-sections, then you ought to consult our specialists. Good solutions are seldom exclusively a question of modern plant components.
Laser profile and tube welding installations
For some profile and tube manufactures laser technology is still new territory. In fact, a lot of questions are being asked about this technology. The initial question is frequently: Is laser really the right solution?
More and more frequently our customers answer affirmatively.
TIG profile and tube welding units
An example: With our RSD50 thin-walled tube welding unit, we attain extraordinary diameter/ thickness ratios and excellent seam quality. Even without seam processing, the seam is hardly visible.
Composite tube manufacturing lines
Aluminum-plastic composite tubes are constantly being used in new applications. The reasons are quick installation, corrosion-resistance, and last but not least, lower costs. Hot /cold water pipes and chemical tubes are but a few of the many possible applications. DREISTERN cooperates with the leading extrusion manufacturer MAILLEFER Ecublens (CH) and supplies turn-key machines for very high productivity.
