Pressure tanks made of galvanised steel or stainless steel are available in many sizes (1 litre - 250 litres). Due to uniform, pulsation-free material transfer from tank to gun, a first class spray pattern and a high working speed is achieved. If necessary, pressure tanks can be fitted with air-powered or electric agitators in order to achieve high hue accuracy and a homogeneous surface finish. WALTHER PILOT offers complete systems for all requirements. WALTHER PILOT manufactures pressure tanks in accordance with strict requirements of pressure equipment Directive 97/23/EC. In accordance with Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX), WALTHER PILOT has the approval for manufacturing equipment for appropriate application in areas exposed to explosion threats. Furthermore, we are certified to manufacture and approve tanks in accordance with the US-American ASME-code as well as the Chinese Safety Quality License. 10 years of delivery guarantee for spare parts.

In the delivery state (clamping ring barrel) the material is prepared and conditioned for use and transfer to the spray gun. Due to the pneumatic lid lifter, an empty barrel can be replaced easily with a full one. System components:
- Lid for attaching apparatus
- Pneumatic lid lifting device
- Agitator (electric or pneumatic powered)
- Pump with material filter
- Agitator switch off when lid is lifted pneumatically
- Compressed air fittings
All agitators are tested and certified in accordance with ATEX 94/9/EC. Versions without explosion protection are also available.

The material is fed to the gun at a very high pressure and is then atomized. For work with Spray Mix or Airless guns a pump is used that feeds material with a fixed pump ratio (relation between inlet pressure and material pressure). Via special hoses (with Spray Mix systems it is a hose pair) the material is fed to the gun and is atomized there by means of special nozzles having a very small opening only. In order to improve the surface quality, Spray Mix guns use atomization air which greatly improves the finish result and thus turns the system into an even more universal tool.

The carrousel is a rotating system which allows the feeding of the pieces in front of the robot for the painting and also allows to make the operations of loading/unloading/cleaning of the pieces on the arm opposite to the painting one.
The carrousel rotation is controlled by the same control unit of the robot and can occur in different times which can be programmed according to the weight and dimension of the loaded pieces.
The maximum standard weight that can be loaded is 30 kg. By request we can supply arms able to support weights up to 80 kg.
At the end of each arm a rotation support is able to control the piece rotation.
This rotation is controlled in angle, direction and speed.
The arms can be 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.

PAINTING ROBOT SERIES “R2006N”
The robot is built in explosion-proof execution (CENELEC ex-pi and ex-i safety regulations),
with 6 controlled axis, electrically driven.
The control unit is constituted by a Personal Computer, with Windows NT4 as operative system, to which a serial connection board RS 485 is connected. No other extra board is foreseen, with great advantage for the system simplicity.
The R2006 robot arms (VA____xHA___mm.) are made of carbon fibre alloy to reduce the inertia of the objects to be handled in the programming stage; besides the arms weight is balanced with pneumatic cylinders used to minimise the handling strain on the whole trajectory.
At last the robot's wrist geometry allows it to turn its wrist in all directions independently from the inclination of the arms, making it easier to program the painting of hard-to-reach surfaces.

BRIDGE CRANE AT 4 CONTROLLED AXIS keeping a painting robot series R2006 with 6 axis equipped with self-learning, as follows:
Axis X - Bridge crane in a tubular steel structure:
The bridge crane can utilize the existing crane ways for a further bridge crane. The carriage position will be fixed by two laser sensors with capacity more than 30
mt. to grant an extreme precision to define the reference “zero” for each work position.
Axis Y – Trasversal carriage in a steel structure
The carriage will be drived on casehardened linear guides
Axis A – Rotation axis around vertical axis
It consists in a roller bearing fifth wheel with a diameter of mm. 1000 on which will be placed the vertical translating carriage
Axis Z – Vertical translation
Made with a slide with wheels on linear guides, ii is equipped with a pneumatic balancing of the transported weight.
Indicative job pression 7 bar
Safety system with movement lock in case of pression lack.
Negligible air consumption thanking to the tanks with plenum chamber function.

TRANSLATING CARRIAGE “XY”
It’s made by an aerial metallic structure able to support the robot thus allowing its controlled translation either in its transversal direction (X) or in its lateral one (Y).
The translating carriages are sliding on couples of trapeze and rectangular guides which guarantee insensibility to dirt and require a negligible maintenance.
The control of the movement (axis 7 and 8) is operated by the robot.
During the teach-in phase the position of the carriages is established by the operator using a console equipped with four buttons (+X, -X, +Y, -Y) through which it is possible to move the carriages in all the possible ways (position and speed).
For example a module can be programmed with the carriage in a pre-established position or with the carriage in continual movement between two points at a pre-selected speed.

MODEL "SNAKE"
Foreseen for maximum piece dimensions 3m x 3m, it is placed side by side to the antropomorfic R2006 model that can operate on workspaces until 6m x 4m and beyond.
The difference with R2006 model is the possibility to be installed in rooms of limited height but it is not equipped with manual automatically with the connected scanner.
Options for the standard model permit to operate with hanging pieces outside from the vertical one, automatically hold account of the thickness of the frames and control the flow of paint depending by the frame dimensions.

TRANSLATING TRANSVERSAL CARRIAGE “X”
It is constituted by an aerial metallic structure able to support the Robot thus allowing its controlled translation in the transversal direction.
The translating carriages are sliding on couples of trapeze and rectangular guides which guarantee insensibility to dirt and require a negligible maintenance.
The control of the movement (axis 7) is operated by the robot.
During the programming phase the position of the carriage is decided by the operator by a console equipped with two buttons (+X, -X) by which it is possible to move the carriage in all the possible ways (position and speed).
For example a module can be programmed with the carriage in a pre-fixed position or with the carriage in continual movement between two points at a pre-selected speed.

TRANSLATING LONGITUDINAL CARRIAGE “Y”
It is constituted by an aerial metallic structure able to support the Robot thus allowing its controlled translation in the longitudinal direction.
The translating carriages are sliding on couples of trapeze and rectangular guides which guarantee insensibility to dirt and require a negligible maintenance.
The control of the movement (axis 7) is operated by the robot.
During the programming phase the position of the carriage is decided by the operator by a console equipped with two buttons (+Y, -Y) by which it is possible to move the carriage in all the possible ways (position and speed).

Such a structure allows the use of the robot in the same conditions of a robot placed at floor, with the further advantage to let the area below the robot itself completely free for the usual maintenance operations of the spraying cabins.

iControl® Integrated Control System
Stop The Waste And Take Control with iControl.
Now you can stop the waste and take control of your powder coating operation with Nordsons iControl integrated control system, featuring closed loop digital flow control, automatic gun triggering and reciprocator control.
Traditional open loop controls lack repeatability and don't compensate for incoming air pressure changes at the powder pump. With closed loop flow control, like iControl, changes in compressed air input are measured and converted in to digital signals, then sent to a proportional valve.
This valve then compensates for varying pressure by changing the airflow to the pump accordingly - resulting in repeatable powder output from the gun and uniform film build on the part beng sprayed.
The technology provides digital control of all application parameters and gun movers through a single, user-friendly operator interface.
