A parallel shaft gear reducer has parallel input and output shafts. All types of gear reducer can be found in parallel versions.
All types of gearing are possible, including worm, bevel, planetary, helical and cylindrical.
Choice will depend on the speed and torque of both the input and output shafts. These data will determine the gear ratio. Another factor is the relative orientation of the two shafts: in-line, parallel, perpendicular, coupled or not.
