GEAR SERIES - GB8/ 3/ 7
SPUR REDUCTION GEARHEAD
Design - Gearhead GB8/ 3/ 7 Contains heavily loaded steel gear wheels. The spur gears rotate on fixed steel spindles which are hardened and polished to a mirror finish. The thick output shaft rotates in robust sintered bushings. It can be mounted on a ball bearing which can be provided in the output bush of the gear box. All the gears housed between two metal plates with a plastic frame. All bearings are permanently lubricated and therefore require no maintenance. Economical versions with poly-acetal or sintered gears available. This gear box can also be combined with small to medium sizes of DC motors.

GEAR SERIES - GB5P/ 5H
SPUR REDUCTION GEARHEAD
Design - Gearhead GB5P, the most popular gearhead, is a multi step gear box with all polyacetal gears which rotate on steel spindles which are polished to a mirror-finish and introduced between metal plates with a plastic frame. All bearings are permanently lubricated and therefore require no maintenance. Motor is attached to the gear box by means of spring clip. Thicker shafts (Ø 6-7mm) mounted in robust bushings (Ø12mm) are available (GB5PS). Similarly the gears at the output end can be metal (GB5PH) with thick shafts & robust
bushings (GB5PHS). Sintered gears variant also possible (GB5Si) GB5P can also be combined with small DC Motors. To achieve higher gear torque,GB5P can be mounted on GB4. Linear drives also possible with small sized motors (Ø<36mm).Torque can be increased upto 10 kgcm by using all metal gears .

GEAR SERIES - GB2
SPUR REDUCTION GEARHEAD.
Design - In GB2 gearhead, spur gears rotate on hardened steel spindles which are polished to a mirror finish. In order to damp running noise at slow running times and low motor loads, the initial spur gears after the rotor shaft are made of injection moulded poly acetal. The spur gears close to the output shaft on the other hand, are made of metal. The output shaft is mounted in two special brass bushes. The entire gear train is put between metal plates with a plastic frame. It is permanently lubricated and therefore requires no maintenance. Thicker shaft (Ø 6-7mm) mounted in robust bushings (Ø 12) are available in a new variant (GB2S). Single-way or two way slipping clutches can
also be installed to enable the output shaft to be rotated while the motor is stationary. GB2 can also be combined with small DC Motors. To achieve higher gear torque, GB2 can be mounted on GB4. Linear drives also possible with small sized motors (Ø<36mm).

Varvel continues to score successes in its product range completion with the new hollow output shaft speed reducers 'Series RN-RO-RV'.
Each size of this new series - displayed at the former Hannover Fair, April 2007 - is designed with a common base body that gives rise to three different speed reducer lines by the means of the appropriate input module fitting: RN shaft mount, RO horizontal and RV vertical input bevel/helical.
Speed reducers are designed in six sizes - aluminium pressure die cast for the smallest three and grey cast iron for the bigger ones - with 30 reduction ratios in two and three stages, and output torques from 180 Nm to 3200 Nm.
Multiple foot-, flange- or torque arm mountings are available as well as hollow output shafts (keyed, shrink-disk, splined) and solid simple or double sided.
Same fixing footprint for the three versions, high flexibility, easy mounting and quick lead times are the pluses that make the speed reducers RN-RO-RV a really new and advanced range.

RV-C SERIES
Less than 1 arc-min Backlash
- Hollow Shaft Thru Hole (up to 5" diameter) for space saving options
- Off-Set motor mounting for access to Hollow Shaft
- Very compact with high torsional rigidity
- Component version for more design flexibility
- Integrated Angular bearings for large thrust & overhung moment capacity
- High Ratio availability (up to 400:1) without increasing gearbox size
- Torque capacity up to 5X rated torque (E-Stop)
The RV-C Hollow Shaft reducer provides a center thru-hole with a component type configuration for more system design flexibility and greater space saving options. The unit incorporates rolling contact elements to provide high efficiency, long life and extremely low backlash as well as an off-center second stage reduction designed to limit vibration and inertia while increasing ratio options. The reducer also incorporates a set of large, internal angular support bearings that provide large moment capacities and negate the need for external support devices - reducing design time and installation costs.
The RV-C Hollow Shaft is also available in Right Angle configurations for greater space saving capabilities. Please Contact Nabtesco for further information.
LONG LIFETIME AND RELIABILITY
The Nabtesco Reducer consists of a patented two-stage cycloidal design that provides large torque, high-ratio and significant shock-load capabilities with extreme precision and excellent quality. The RV utilizes rolling contact elements to reduce wear, extend life and lower backlash with the unique pin and gear structure of the cycloidal design providing higher shock resistance than traditional reducers and further reducing backlash. The reducer also incorporates a set of large, internal angular support bearings that provide large moment capacities and negate the need for external support devices.
The virtually symmetrical gear design and the support of all shafts by roller bearings guarantee a constant performance during the lifetime and allow short time peak loads
of up to 5 times the given rated torque (i.e. for emergency stops).

|
The RD-C provides a large centre thru-hole with a main support bearing together in one complete gearhead. The large thru-hole (up to 5.78 inches) can accommodate cables, shafts, lasers, and etc. for the most efficient design possible with the off-centre input providing larger ratio options which 1) reduce the need for a planetary pre-stage reducer and 2) allow for a greater design flexibility in the various output speeds the application requires. The main internal angular support bearings also provide large moment capacities and negate the need for external support devices - reducing design time and installation costs.
The RD-C Series is shipped completely sealed (grease included) with the motor adapter plate and motor shaft coupling customised for your specific servomotor. This straightforward design allows for a quick and easy installation directly into your process.

SANDEX is a generic name for our cam units that combine a simple and ideal indexing mechanism, the "Roller gear cam mechanism". Sankyo's original cam technology, consisting of a roller gear cam and a follower spider (turret) is used to complete the units. Sankyo's pick and place units accommodate motion in two directions, as is necessary in workpiece handling, using two reliable solid cam mechanisms. All of these mechanical movements are made accurately at high speed. The "Oscillating Handler" combines oscillation or intermittent indexing and lifting motions, and the "Parts Handler" combines two direction straight movements, such as forward and back.

Lifting gears and conveyor drives in which the drum and driving motor are arranged in parallel require a step-down gear unit with a corresponding large axle base. The lifting gear units in the POSIRED N series are designed for this application and ideally bridge the given distance between the motor and drum. The development of this series is based on widespread experience in crane engineering, belt conveyor drives, winches, and hoisting devices. The accessories needed for this application such as elastic clutches, barrel clut-ches, brakes and substructures, can be supplied together with the gear reducers.
