Today, the PC assumes a key position in automation technology. Together with a real-time operating system, e.g. Windows® NT, it creates an ideal hardware platform for control and visualisation of process data. By using so called SoftPLCs the PC penetrates into application areas that have been the domain of classical programmable controllers.
Fieldbus systems with remote input and output modules are used for the data transfer between the PC and the automation equipment. We offer special interface cards since the PC does not feature a direct link to the fieldbus.These intelligent cards manage the entire data transfer. Only useful data are passed onto the user applications.

Addi-Data presents the new 32-bit digital input/output board PC104-PLUS1500 which has 32 I/O. The PC104-PLUS1500 is equipped with both PCI and ISA connectors on the circuit board. The direct connection to SPS controls is guaranteed because the I/O channels correspond to the industrial standard +24 V for “logic 1”. The input voltage is designed precisely so that the PC104-PLUS1500 switches reliably to „0“ or „1“, even in the case of disturbances. With 0-14 V as “low” and 19-30 V as “high” the ranges are set very high. In order to ensure that the board is interference-free and thus the flawless use in applications, the 32 digital inputs/outputs are isolated up to 1000 V and protected against fast transients, electrostatic discharge and high-frequency EMI.
Two digital inputs are interruptible and thus the main programs are relieved of the standard monitoring and evaluation tasks. In order to avoid undefined states the outputs stay on “status 0” when the PC is started.
The High-Side switch outputs that are available on the PC104-PLUS1500 are designed for inductive loads and PTC resistors, in contrast to the open collector outputs. They work with a nominal voltage of 24 V and an output current of 150 mA and are protected against short-circuit, overtemperature and undervoltage. Additionally, 3 timers or counters are available, whereas Timer1 can work as programmable watchdog for resetting the outputs. A status register that can be read out allows to detect short-circuit or overtemperature.

The POSYS® 3104 (Designed & Made in Germany) is a PC/104 form factor board dedicated to high performance motion control applications with extensive interpolation functionality. The POSYS® 3104 is designed to control up to 4 axes of servo and stepper motors and provides hardware linear, circular, Bit Pattern and continuous interpolation which allow to perform the most complex motion profiles. Update rates per axis do not exist as each axis runs in absolute real-time mode simultaneously which makes these boards to one of the best performing motion controllers for up to 4 axes in the market.
The POSYS® 3104 is a low-cost PC104 motion controller offering a wide range of possibilities. The controller is dedicated to pulse & direction output which allows to control any type of motor provided the driver/amplifier is capable to accept pulse & direction signals. Many amplifiers on the market exist for this purpose (we supply versions from AMC) which can even be configured for either brushed or brushless servo motors.
The usage of one controller type throughout the system, but still keeping it open for various motor types, depending on your customer's demands, enhances this controller to be your first choice. Software written for this controller does not need to be re-written again. Time-to-market design is done once. Equip your machine with steppers or servos or combine them to any configuration you desire.
Due to its possibilities there are practically no limitations to where this controller can be used. Robotics, semi-conductor, medical and harsh industrial environments - where ever you need precise control of your motors the POSYS® 3104 is ready.

The POSYS® 800-B (Designed & Made in Germany) is a state-of-the-art 1 to 4 axes PC/104-Bus motion controller supporting multiple host connection modes and motor types. The POSYS® 800-B supports parallel-bus via PC/104-Bus and serial communication RS232. Motor types supported are DC brushed servo, brushless servo, microstepping and stepper motors depending on model each axis individually configurable. Other features are the fast servo loop update rates of 100 µs/1 axis to 400 µsec/4 axes, 5 Mcounts/sec quadrature encoder input and on-board trace capabilities.
Motion profiles include S-curve, trapezoidal (with smoothing factor), velocity contouring, and electronic gearing, linear interpolation for 4 axes. In addition they also support external profile mode which allows the user to download complex motion profiles directly in to the controllers memory reliefing the host from extensive calculation tasks.
With up to 164 commands, depending on model, the POSYS® instruction set offers flexibility and versatility to software application programmers. Instructions are used to initialize and control the motion processor. User selectable profiling modes supported by the motion processor include S-curve, trapezoidal, velocity contouring and electronic gearing. The POSYS® 8xx-B accepts input parameters such as position, velocity, and acceleration from the host and generates a corresponding trajectory.
