Sliding Instead of Rolling
DryLin® R linear bearings work through the use of sliding elements, in contrast to the design of recirculating ball bearing systems. In practice, these iglidur® elements made of high performance polymers can be manufactured from all iglidur® materials. Thus, the DryLin® R linear technology has the advantages of all of the different iglidur® bearing materials. iglidur® J is the best material for most linear applications because of its excellent wear and low coefficient of friction. Therefore, DryLin® R linear plain bearings are designed using this material.
The Most Important Properties of DryLin® R Linear Plain Bearings:
- maintenance free
- dirt resistant
- lightweight
- extremely quiet operation
- resistant to corrosion
- high static loading capacity
- resistant to shocks and vibrations
DryLin® R linear plain bearings are designed for dry running. Dirt, dust, and other abrasive media are not drawn into the bearing surface by grease or oils.
In contrast with the recirculating ball bearings, The performance of DryLiny® R bearings is not effected by the length of travel. Therefore, there are no restrictions on minimum stroke length for DryLin® R linear bearings.

Rino Industries Ltd are pleased to announce the launch of an exciting new range of ceramic and self-lubricating linear bearings into their new 848 page mechanical drive components catalogue.
Both closed and open bearings are in ceramic and self-lubricating as standard, with sizes starting from 5mm up to 80mm bores. The ceramic coated aluminium bearings require lubrication and are available with or without seals. Self-lubricating bearings are manufactured from a Teflon® composite liner bonded to an aluminium shell, the company states.
Thin-walled metric bearings are also available, but in a closed version only. Sizes start at 6mm bore going up to 50mm. Again, closed and self-lubricating are both standard.
For both thin-walled and standard versions, the shafts recommended for self-lubricating bearings are RC60, 300 stainless steel types but they run equally well on either hardened or soft shafting. Recommended temperature range is from -240ºC to +190ºC.
Ceramic bearings however, must be used on RC60 hardened lubricated shafting only in order to achieve maximum performance. The proper amount of lubrication required is that amount which maintains a constant thin film during operation, the company states. The method selected will depend on the speed-load coefficient of friction requirements of the application. Approved and tested lubrication methods include lithium stearate grease, MOS2 dry film, most oils, greases and moly pastes. Silicon based spray lubricants are not recommended for use with these shafts.

Rino Industries have launched 3 new busings, ranging from DU dry bushings, DP4 maintenance free and PM-DX marginally lubricated versions. All are manufactured from a composite bearing material consisting of three bonded layers – a steel or bronze backing strip is bonded with a porous sinter bronze interlayer which is impregnated and overlaid with a PTFE and lead bearing material. The bronze backing strip provides extra high corrosion resistance, anti-magnetic properties and a good thermal conductivity.
The DU (steel) and DUB (bronze) bushes are sold in both standard plain and flanged versions with thrust washers available as accessories. Sizes start at 2mm nominal inside diameter up to 300mm so every size possible is catered for. They are dry bearings requiring no additional lubrication and therefore providing maintenance free operation. They exhibit low wear rate and are seizure resistant with a high static and dynamic load capability – these are just some of their many advantageous features.
DP4 maintenance free bearings start at a nominal inside diameter of just 2mm going up to 115mm in the standard plain version and the flanged version starts at 3mm increasing to 45mm. Thrust washers are also available to suit. They are most suitable for sliding, oscillating, reciprocating and rotating applications.
PM-DX marginally lubricated bearings provide maintenance free operation, have good frictional properties, no water absorption so are therefore dimensionally stable and are compact and light to boot. Sizes start at 8mm inside diameter going up to 300mm on the standard plain cylindrical bush – flanged versions are not available in this range.

RBC has been a pioneer in spherical plain bearing technology since
inventing the fractured outer race design many years ago. Since that
time, RBC has continued to introduce industry leading innovations such
as high misalignment, angular contact, extended inner ring, tapered
bore, and extended lubrication groove spherical plain bearing designs.
These advanced products are used wherever pivoting, high load bearing
applications are found. Most typically, RBC spherical plain bearings
are employed in hydraulic cylinder rod ends, vehicle suspensions,
heavy equipment articulated joints, and other severe duty uses.
Industries served include off-highway mobile construction equipment,
large agricultural machinery, mining equipment, forestry products, and
other large equipment requiring bearings that provide misalignment
capabilities while carrying high loads.

deva.eco sliding bearings are thin-walled, rolled bronze parts with lubrication deposits. They can take high loads and enable compact, economic bearing design solutions.
There are three basic designs:
deva.eco 9 with rombic shaped rolled lubrication pckets. This design is mostly used in applications where nearby design elements, such as gears, are oil-lubricated. Likewise these bearings can be used with standard pumpable greases or lubrication pastes.
deva.eco 8 has lubrication pockets like deva.eco 9 but filled with solid lubricant to allow operation without additional lubrication. If higher lubrication performance is required deva.eco 7 is better suited. This type includes punched holes aslubrication deposits and is used for applications which are frequently relubricated. Due to the shape of the lubrication deposits this type is less suitable for oil lubrication.
