Sliding Instead of Rolling
DryLin® R linear bearings work through the use of sliding elements, in contrast to the design of recirculating ball bearing systems. In practice, these iglidur® elements made of high performance polymers can be manufactured from all iglidur® materials. Thus, the DryLin® R linear technology has the advantages of all of the different iglidur® bearing materials. iglidur® J is the best material for most linear applications because of its excellent wear and low coefficient of friction. Therefore, DryLin® R linear plain bearings are designed using this material.
The Most Important Properties of DryLin® R Linear Plain Bearings:
- maintenance free
- dirt resistant
- lightweight
- extremely quiet operation
- resistant to corrosion
- high static loading capacity
- resistant to shocks and vibrations
DryLin® R linear plain bearings are designed for dry running. Dirt, dust, and other abrasive media are not drawn into the bearing surface by grease or oils.
In contrast with the recirculating ball bearings, The performance of DryLiny® R bearings is not effected by the length of travel. Therefore, there are no restrictions on minimum stroke length for DryLin® R linear bearings. |

PTFE-based metal-polymer materials: DU®, DU®B, DP4TM, DP4BTM, DP31TM
Our metal-backed, PTFE-based (polytetrafluoroethylene) polymer bearing materials have a common structure, consisting of a steel backing bonded to a porous bronze sinter layer. This bronze sinter layer is impregnated and overlaid with the filled PTFE bearing lining.
The steel backing provides mechanical strength, while the bronze sinter layer provides a strong mechanical bond between the backing and the bearing lining. This construction promotes dimensional stability and improves thermal conductivity.
These polymer bearing linings, being predominantly PTFE, offer exceptionally low friction.
Thermoplastic-based metal-polymer materials: DX®, DSTM, HXTM
DX, DS and Hi-eX have a similar structure to the PTFE-based materials described above; but with these products, the bearing lining consists of a filled thermoplastic extruded tape.
These materials are generally designed to operate with marginal lubrication. DX and HX are most commonly provided with a uniform pattern of indents in the bearing surface that act as grease reservoirs.
The incorporation of PTFE filler in DS enables this material to operate dry when required. Due to the inherent lower friction of this polymer blend, it is usually supplied without indents.
The high-performance engineering polymer found in HX gives this material excellent temperature and chemical resistance combined with good load capacity and is particularly suited for operation under arduous conditions with oil lubrication.

Description of bearing types
Male, female or spherical bearings are ready-to-use mechanical components, based on the journal bearing principle.
These components are used in mechanical construction to transmit static or dynamic forces at different angles.
Male and female bearings are sometimes called tips or ends.
Spherical bearings are sometimes just called bearings.
The design of bearing components is governed by the DIN / ISO 12240 standard, which also specifies the overall and interface dimensions and with neighbouring mechanical components.
Bearing components can be self-lubricating or fitted with grease nipples.
Spherical bearings supplement ball bearings or other casings in slow movements. They are also ale to withstand high loadings because of the larger surfaces in contact..
The body of spherical bearings can be made from various materials: standard steel, high grade steel, stainless steel or aluminium

|
Radial spherical plain bearings
Radial spherical plain bearings comprise inner and outer rings with maintenance-free sliding layers of ELGOGLIDE®, PTFE composite or PTFE-bronze film. They can support slight axial forces as well as radial forces and are suitable for alternating dynamic loads. Sealed spherical plain bearings are protected against contamination and spray water by lip seals. Large spherical plain bearings of d = 320 mm and above belong to the premium grade X-life.
Axial spherical plain bearings
Axial spherical plain bearings comprise shaft and housing locating washers with ELGOGLIDE®. They are preferably used to support axial forces and are suitable as support or base bearings. Large spherical plain bearings of d = 220 mm and above belong to the premium grade X-life.

Pivoting bearings DIN ISO 12240-1 (DIN 648)
Rod ends and pivoting bearings are some of the most frequently used linking elements in industry. These parts can be found everywhere where simple movements are required, e.g. linear pulling, pushing or even axle offset compensation. The linking technology specialist, mbo Osswald, provides a particularly wide application range with a whole assortment of different rod ends and pivoting bearings. |

deva.eco sliding bearings are thin-walled, rolled bronze parts with lubrication deposits. They can take high loads and enable compact, economic bearing design solutions.
There are three basic designs:
deva.eco 9 with rombic shaped rolled lubrication pckets. This design is mostly used in applications where nearby design elements, such as gears, are oil-lubricated. Likewise these bearings can be used with standard pumpable greases or lubrication pastes.
deva.eco 8 has lubrication pockets like deva.eco 9 but filled with solid lubricant to allow operation without additional lubrication. If higher lubrication performance is required deva.eco 7 is better suited. This type includes punched holes aslubrication deposits and is used for applications which are frequently relubricated. Due to the shape of the lubrication deposits this type is less suitable for oil lubrication. |
|
Wherever fluids are pumped, compressed or stirred, it is the bearings and face seal rings that concern design engineers in particular. The type of material used for these parts has a vast impact on operational reliability and durability, especially when critical media are involved.
|
|
| Conical bearings™ are used usually in pairs to transfer radial & axial loads but allowing large torsional movement and some conical. These are therefore suitable in applications where controlled flexibility is required such as in large travel suspension systems. |

It has two layers - sliding layer and backing layer. Sliding layer consists of filament-wound PTFE and Synthetic fiber that has low frictional and wear-resistant performance. Backing layer consists of filament-wound fiberglass impregnated into epoxy resin. It has good load capacity with low friction and stick-slip-free operation at slow speed.
Mostuf composite bearings are filament-wound composite bearings with a self-lubricating inner surface backed with a high-strength, fiber-reinforced thermoset composite. Composite bearings are standard components for manufacturers involved in heavy industrial equipment, farm equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinder manufacturers, as well as valve and actuator manufacturers. Essentially, composite bearings are ideal for high-load, low speed applications or where lubrication is difficult or costly. |
