Three-Position Pneu-Turn
Rotary action of the Pneu-Turn Rotary Actuator is achieved through the use of a rack-and-pinion assembly. The speed of rotation may be controlled through the use of flow controls. The action at the end of the rotation can be controlled by the use of adjustable cushions, which are available as an option.
Ports on the Pneu-Turn may be repositioned to accommodate any airline configuration by loosening the three body retainer screws. The rack and pinion gear and ball bearings are pre-lubricated at the factory for extensive, maintenance-free operation.
Bore sizes are 9/16", 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2", and 2". Each includes single and double rack models.
The Three-Position Pneu-Turn rotary actuators, in all bore sizes; both single and double rack can now be ordered as a standard catalog option.

AGI's pneumatic actuator, powered feed-escapement is ideal for individual release of parts from hoppers, conveyors, vibratory feeder bowls, tracks and magazines. These compact long stroke Linear actuators escapements are internally sequenced. The cross porting makes sure both rods are extended before either rod can retract ensuring positive part feeding. The AGI escapements have an easy part clearing feature due to internal back pressure cross port design, allows both rods to be retracted with air pressure off.

·Spring Return operators are formed by bolting a spring return unit to a double acting Val-U-Act operator. The return movement is effected by a clock-type spring which is pretensioned to about half the operator torque. The amount of pretention is large, compared to the rotation and therefore the torque does not vary more than 20% over the rotation.
Spring returns are factory-installed and adjusted. The spring returns have a worm drive adjustment for setting or changing spring pretension. By inserting a socket key into one end of the worm the spring pretension can be very easily increased or decreased to suit operating conditions. To increase pretension, turn the worm clockwise; to decrease, turn counterclockwise.

The hardstops stops the output flange directly so there isn't any pinion breakage. The units are ultra hi torque pneumatic actuators due to cross porting the two piston bores. The extremely low profile package is excellent in tight space applications. There are five sizes available with manifold and mid stop options. Torque output ranges from 7in-lbs. to 310 in-lbs. @ 100 psi.

1 An uncontrolled reset stroke can cause some bounce of the rack and a small forward impluse to the shaft. It will be apparent only if the shaft load is small, with low friction. It can be reduced by a bumper (usable on reset cylinder only) or more by a correctly adjusted cushion
