Boreas Refrigeration Compressed Air Dryers with Variopulse
The proprietary design of Boreas heat exchangers incorporates large flow channels for low pressure drop, which translates into low operating costs. A built-in cyclone separator with our Ultramat zero-loss drain valve allows for the removal of condensed water without wasting any compressed air. The space-saving design brings cooling air in the front and out the top, allowing the unit to be placed next to a wall with other equipment on either side. All Boreas dryers utilise environmentally friendly R-134a refrigerant and are available in either air- cooled or water-cooled configurations. Volume flows of 1.800 to 28.500 m³/h are covered by the Boreas series.

The operation of compressed air systems with conventional adsorption dryers suffers from system-related pressure drop. This deficiency needs to be compensated via an increased compressor performance, this requiring a higher energy demand.
Cold-regenerated DRYPOINT® AC adsorption dryers offer a convincing solution to the problem:
BEKO has developed an adsorption dryer which limits the pressure drop to an average of only 0.25 bar, including the pre- and final filters.- Compared with conventional constructions, this represents an improvement of over 50%.
|
|
Compressed air always contains moisture, traces of compressor oil and dust particles.
These impurities can lead to serious problems. Corrosion pockets or deposits build up in air tools and equipment. This makes them operate less efficiently and reduces the quality of the products manufactured. Maintenance work becomes necessary and costly downtimes occur.

The ambient air given off by any compressor always contains water vapour. This depends on the ambient temperature and the relative humidity. When air is compressed, the volume decreases proportionally. This results in condensate formation. Condensate causes corrosion in compressed air pipe line, increases tool wear, faults in pneumatic controls, delayed response time, expensive down time, etc. Compressed air driers are used to separate the condensate and contaminants.

Champion Refrigerated Dryers
CRN Series 10-3000 scfm
Heat Transfer
RNC 10-15 models have the patented static condenser technology that eliminates the need for a cooling fan. These models include an on/off switch, longer power cord (8 ft), a timer operated drain with isolation valve on RNC, a float trap on RNC, and deliver heated outlet air to eliminate sweaty piping.
RNC models 25-50 benefit from our smooth handcrafted all copper heat exchangers.
Only large bore multiple tubes-in-tube designs efficiently split the airflow to acheive the
low pressure drop, high heat transfer.
RNC Series models 75-3000 incorporate heat exchangers crafted from multiple offset layers of press formed AISI 316 stainless steel. Press forming creates peaks and valleys that form media channels that are rich in fluid turbulence. This prevents fouling and maximizes engery efficiency.

Technology : Adsorption Dryers.
Operating principle: Designed for extracting humidity from compressed air, these dryers consist of aluminium columns each of which contains two twin chambers filled with a desiccant agent which dries the compressed air crossing over it. When a chamber is in service (drying phase), the other is in regeneration mode.
Flow rates treated:
From 40 m3/h to 2040 m3/h
Values given for a pressure of 7 bar and aspiration at 1 bar and at 20°C.
Pressure Dew point:
- 40°C as standard (SM and SMH models)
- 20°C optional (SM230 to SM1200 models only)
- 70°C optional (SM and SMH models)
Standard equipment:
High resistance extruded aluminium construction. Humidity indicator for monitoring the quality of air supplied. Fast re-pressurisation valve providing easy commutation and improving reliability.
Regeneration method: By pressure variation (SM models) and temperature variation (SMH models): the saturated desiccant agent is regenerated using a small quantity of the treated compressed air (SM models) with an additional heat contribution through heating elements (SMH models only). The dilatation of that warm air which is changed from the circuit pressure to atmospheric pressure provides the means for extracting the humidity absorbed by the desiccant agent and thus for regenerating it. The heating elements (SMH models only) provide the means for significantly reducing the quantity of dry air used and at the same time the dryer's operating cost.

Technology: Adsorption Dryers.
From 5.1 m3/h to 34 m3/h
Pressure Dew point:
- 40°C as standard
- 70°C optional
Standard equipment:
Integral high efficiency oil removal SCH filter and 2-in-1 type cartridge (consisting of SCR anti-particle filter and desiccant).
Electronic display with operating condition by LED and audible alarm. Condensates removal by integral pipes.
Corrosion-resistant protection by epoxy painting and alocrom treatment.
Regeneration method:
By pressure variation: a small quantity of the treated compressed air is taken to regenerate the saturated desiccant agent. The dilatation of that air which changes from the circuit pressure to atmospheric pressure provides the means for extracting the humidity absorbed by the desiccant and thus for regenerating it. The humidity is then dispersed into the atmosphere through the exhaust silencers.
Key points: Installation at the point of use: supply of dry air right where it is needed. Easy installation, small dimensions and reduced noise level. Fast, simple maintenance.
Applications:
Suitable for all users wanting to obtain dry compressed air for a specific application, thus avoiding unnecessary and costly full treatment of the whole of the air network.
