Sample Gas Filters
The distance between the extraction point of sample gas and the analyser cabinet is normally bridged by tubes or hoses in continuous emission monitoring (CEM) systems. Depending on the method of analysis (FDIR, HFID, hot wet analysis, total hydrocarbons, etc.), these gas lines can be unheated or must be heated to prevent unwanted condensate formation.
Due to the nature of such installations, additional in-line filtration is required.
Bühler offers a wide selection of unheated and heated filters specifically designed for gas sampling applications.

Dry seals for compressors and turbines require clean, dry gas to maintain seal integrity and ensure longevity. Gas seal support systems as specified in API-614 require filters and sometimes water-removing coalescers to ensure gas quality to the seals.
For critical seal gas filtration, the ideal arrangement is to have “duplex” filters. In the duplex configuration, there is always one filter on-line filtering and/or “drying” the gas, even when the other filter element is being replaced.

M&C Universal Filters reliably separate solids, in particular extremely fine particles,occuring in analysis techniques in gas filtration, using very fine, deep-acting filter elements.Thanks to their universal design, the filters can also be used as separators (without a filter element), liquid filters or, with adsorption cartridges, as an adsorption filter. For ambient or medium emperatures up to 180 °C, a stainless steel version FSS or FT-H version can be offered. Heated filters up to 320°C are also available.

New developments and improvements are constantly being made to increase the use of this clean burning, efficient fuel. Natural gas comes from underground, and thousands of kilometres of pipeline exists in Europe to transport the gas. Compressor stations located along the length of pipeline move the gas from the wellhead to consumer distribution points.
However, the raw gas from the ground requires processing and refining before it is ready fro use. The installation of Parker filters makes it possible to improve process efficiency and provide optimal process protection. The rigid, graded-density structure of Parker filter products efficiency removes solids and conaminants that would quickly plug competitive filters.

The DRESSER®ROOTS® Style 351 Pipeline Strainer is designed to protect precision devices, such as regulation and metering equipment installed downstream of the strainer, from entrained system debris such as plastic shavings, fine particles of dirt, stones, gravel, rust, pipe scale and weld slag.

The FD-1500 Filter-Dryer provides superior filtration and dehydration with 110 square inches of 10 micron filtering media and 2.0 pounds of silica gel. The FD-1500 incorporates an easy-to-replace "spin on" cartridge made up of a high quality, high capacity nylon and fiberglass filter element reinforced with stainless steel mesh. The Varian Gas Clean Filter System, which is positioned immediately before your GC, consists of two elements: the connecting unit and a filter. The uniquely designed filter and connecting unit allow for quick replacement of saturated filters while preventing air from entering your system.
Varian Gas Clean Filters are available for three different impurities; oxygen, moisture and hydrocarbons.

This range of filters has been designed for use on machines for which excellent suctioned air filtration is essential. The filter cartridges are of such dimensions as to assure the stated capacity values with a minimum pressure drop; however, in the case of heavy-duty operations, we recommend that the capacity be calculated as being 2/3rds of that indicated. We can alter the “C” length for threaded attachment types, on request.

Cartridge Filter Systems, a revolutionary concept, changed the way filter systems performed. The usual limitations to the filtration efficiencies offered by conventional bag filter systems and the related maintenance problems suddenly vanished.
APPLICATIONS
Cartridge Filter Systems (CFS) have several applications:
- Dust collection, pneumatic conveying, central vacuum cleaning systems, etc.
- In the industries where cleanliness of high order is expected (e.g. clean room applications), CFSs are used in the dust collections and pneumatic conveying applications.
- In the tissue culture, aquaculture, pharmaceutical, chemical, pesticide, premium sugar, decorative laminates, printed circuit boards, diffusion labs, etc. the dust has to be eliminated and only CFSs meet the requirement.
- For powder coating paints - in their manufacturing or painting process - CFSs are very useful. After pulverizing in a mill the powder paint has to be removed and collected pneumatically, at the end of which a CFS can collect all the paint. Similarly, paint can be recovered efficiently in the painting process. A special benefit that CFSs offer is the quick change-over when the colour is to be changed.
- In the coated paper industry, where high quality paper is manufactured, presence of dust in the environment can be detrimental to the quality of the end product. Collection of dust from the buff rolls (cotton bowls) with cartridge filter systems prevents re-entrainment of the dust into the atmosphere

Vacuum pumps are used in a variety of applications from manufacturing processes to medical devices. In general, a vacuum pump provides high quality, reliable performance and is a low maintenance piece of equipment. Vacuum pumps convert mechanical energy into pneumatic energy by evacuating the air contained within a system. They use the same pumping mechanism as air compressors except that the unit is installed so that the air is drawn from a closed volume and Exhausted to the atmosphere.
In a compressed air system the compressor inlet is usually at atmospheric pressure, whereas in a vacuum system, the outlet is at atmospheric pressure.

To improve the operating efficiency of pneumatic equipment, Kadant Johnson air separators eliminate 99% of entrained contaminants including moisture, pipe scale, dirt and oil. CNG Series adsorbers are single tower dryers designed to remove water vapor from Compressed Natural Gas in small to medium gas flow rates. Located at the inlet of the booster compressor, our unique binderless molecular sieve insures dry, pipeline quality gas (-80°F dew point or better) with minimal odorant fading.
