| PI provides a great variety of innovative solutions for photonics packaging and alignment automation. Products range from 6D MicroMotion industrial robots for industrial automation, through ultra-fast piezoelectric scanning modules to modular devices with manual control for laboratory test setups. Applications include automated angular alignment of collimated fibers or arrays, thin-film WDM add/drops, MEMS switches, planar MEMS cross-connects and multi-channel waveguides. MICOS designed the new Spacefab generation for micro-optical applications as well as biomedical applications. The system consists of six linear axis combined in that way that the top platform can be driven with 6 degrees of freedom. the travel range is 50x50x50 mm with about 10° but can be varied by using other stages and other designs. We are selling high precision circular interpolated systems as well as low-cost systems with point to point control. The big point is the possibility to set the Pivot point(center of rotation) by software: so you are able to adjust the movement depending of your probe, fiber or else. The systems can be designed for vacuum or in special dimensions.

The gantries isel are composed of linear advances and guidance of precision, are regulated without play with drive by engines step by step or, in option, by Servo-moteurs. The precision of repeatability is about + 0,02mm.
The gantries have a whole a very large surface of fastening, with a flatness < 0,05mm. The rigidity of the machines is ensured by 16 linear stages for only axis Y.
The advances are protected from dust and the chips, by Teflon joints with lips.
