IGP Series
Using this potentiometer a maximum angular rotation of 3800° can be converted into a voltage proportional to the angle of rotation, through the medium of a conductive-plastic potentiometer.
This special "heavy-duty" version is designed to measure angular or linear displacement under the most difficult of enviromentat conditions. Simply yet robustly built, these units are suitable for use in all manner of industrial applications and engineering industry.
The cast housing is watertight. The single stage gearing is exceptionally backlash-free. Heavy-duty bearings allow for high axial loading on the shaft; gearwheels or even chain drives may be used directly drive the shaft.
Sealing is achieved through the use of a stepped bush whilst electrical connections are made via plug and socket mounted on the side of the unit.
Special features
- reduction gearing 3:1, 5:1, 10:1
- good linearity 0.1 % (standard)
- long life typically 100 x 106 movements
- mechanical rotation
- robust construction with 10 mm shaft
- Protection class IP 65

Weber's line of vector laser coders produces permanent, very high-quality marking on materials as diverse as paper, cardboard, foils, coated metals, plastics, wood, glass, and many others. The systems provide a cost-effective alternative to small character continuous ink jet (CIJ) applications.
These sealed, CO2 units are capable of marking products or packages with text as small as 0.020" high, numerous bar code symbologies, plus striking graphic images. Weber offers laser coders for static marking or very high-speed, in-motion operation. Marking fields range from 2.0" to 7.8" square.
There are a number of reasons to consider laser instead of CIJ: no ink expense; no ink mess or cleanup; no solvents to dispose of; no on-going maintenance woes; and you get a permanent, high-resolution mark.

The motors with integrated encoder represent a revolutionary component in the automation field offering to the OEM and to the end user new opportunities and notable economy advantages due to its user-friendly design. The new range of three-phase asynchronous motors with integrated encoder has been designed specifically to offer the end user a comprehensive choice of an already widely tested three phase motor, with superior quality. Two main choice of MGM motors with built-in are available: brake motors (BAE/BMEAV) and standard motors (SAE/SMEAV). The power range starts from 0.06 kW up to 45 kW (from 56 up to 225 frame size).
The unit consists of a three phase asynchronous motor with high efficiency and low moment of inertia and with the actual encoder located in the back (ND-side). MGM motors are suitable for inverter use. The mechanical coupling is the same of a standardized motor (special shaft and flange are available on request), wirings are very simple: power and electrical signal are separated.
MGM motors with built-in encoder can be supplied in conformity with requirements of standards UL 1004 “Electric motors” and CSA 0 22.2 No. 100-95 Motors and generators” (c CSA us approval).

Newport¡¦s UTS series linear stages incorporate many of the advantages of the popular UTM series providing superior motion performance in an enhanced, shorter, and lower profile package. They use the same optimized steel body, bearings and lead screw of the UTM stages, but feature a number of mechanical improvements and completely new motor configurations.
UTS linear stages are available in three configurations. The first version, utilizing a DC motor, features an ultra-high resolution 20,000 cts/rev rotary encoder with index pulse for precision homing and is the recommended choice for applications requiring accurate bi-directional positioning. For tightest position control, the rotary encoder is directly mounted on the lead screw. This eliminates the majority of drive train error sources that affect other stages with indirect position read-out. A high-torque DC motor provides the highest dynamic speed control and allows for linear speeds up to 40 mm/s. An 11:4 belt reduction between the motor and the lead screw increases the available output torque, reduces the servo sensitivity and ensures 0.3 ƒÝm incremental motion capability with all Newport motion controllers and drivers.
The stepper motor version is a cost-effective solution for less demanding applications. When used with our XPS, ESP300, or SMC100PP controllers with high micro-stepping capability, low-noise operation and very small incremental motions are guaranteed. The stepper motor versions do not use encoders, instead, position is attained by the number of commanded steps and micro-steps. |
