HEMA produces flexible protective systems for applications in widely differing industrial sectors. Apart from its core product of bellows, HEMA also possesses extensive specialist knowledge on various alternative solutions. High-quality steel covers are innovatively designed and efficiently manufactured by HESTEGO in a brand new production plant. The latest equipment and optimum processes guarantee constant, reproducible quality.
Whether providing new designs from absolute scratch, improving designs on existing cover applications, rebuilding old covers based on drawings or samples or refurbishing parts of damaged steel covers - HEMA does it all, in less time and at a low cost. Telescopic steel covers are the traditional form of cover for machine tools. They are used wherever an effective protection against the penetration of chips and other sharp-edged elements is decisive. The penetration of coolants can also be effectively reduced by design measures and suitable wiper systems. With their advanced technology, precise positional accuracy and high movement speeds, HEMA steel covers adapt ideally to the constantly rising demands of modern machine tools.

Bellows
Arnold bellows offer safe protection for both people and machinery. These are the products to soke your problems - in which material, stability and shape can be individually customised.
If the bellows will be subjected to high mechanical stress and strain, the telescopic covers provide safe protection even at high processing speeds. Due to our patented mounting system, the telescopic covers will either be flexibly mounted or connected with the bellows without the use of adhesive materials under consistent counter pressure, if required and can also be coolant-compatible, if this is desired.

Slide Valve (Pictured)
Slide Valve and Lock-Out Slide Valves
In the open position, slide valves allow air to flow through to downstream equipment in the open position. When in closed position, the valve shuts off the air from the compressor. Air trapped on the load side is then bled off into the atmosphere, preventing equipment from unexpectedly cycling even though the line is "shut off".
The lockout slide valves can be locked in the close position. This is an especially important feature when equipment or machinery is being worked on because it avoids accidental start up, which can cause injury to personnel. The lockout slide valve can accomodate standard lock shank sizes up to .145" (sold separately).

Ball Valves
Safety Excess Flow Check Valve

|
Shut-off valves for bulk materials must close trouble-free in
the flowing bulk material and in the product column. The
slide gate should not jam or block, and the bulk material
should not be squeezed. Slide gates from Coperion Waeschle
fulfil exactly these requirements.

Actuation
Safety Locks are held open by hydraulic (100 bar min) or pneumatic (3,5 bar min) mean and clamp when pressure drops.
Direction of load
In most applications Safey Locks are mounted on a baseplate, so that the load causes a compressive force to the mounting surface. But if the application requires an upward absorption of the load, a flange for attachment is required as well as a special design of the Safety Lock housing regarding the tensile load.

Hydraulic heavy load brake:
The Braking and Clamping Element with membrane technology KB
Hydraulic heavy load brake:
The Braking and Clamping Element with membrane technology KB
The KB series is a hydraulically operated heavy load brake. The hydraulic oil presses the large-surface contact sections, which are equipped with a special brake lining, directly onto the section rail guide via a piston mechanism.
Because of the material combination of the linear guide/contact section, the linear guide won't be damaged by the contact section.
The pressure ranges from 20 bar to a 100 bar maximum for sizes 25 and 30. All sizes from 35 to 125 operate in a pressure range from 30 bar to a 150 bar.
The KB series features zero backlash and extremely low absorption volumes of maximum 7.6 cm3 per clamping operation.

Hydraulic super-heavy load clamping:
The Clamping Element with membrane technology KW
The KW series is a hydraulically operated heavy load clamping device.
The hydraulic oil presses the large-surface contact sections directly onto the section rail guide via a piston mechanism
A pre-tensioned reset spring enables short cycle times. The special pressure membrane technology guarantees operational reliability.
The pressure ranges from 20 bar to a 100 bar maximum for sizes 25 and 30. All sizes from 35 to 125 operate in a pressure range from 30 bar to a 150 bar maximum.

Hydraulic heavy load brake:
The Braking and Clamping Element with spring-loaded energy storage KBHS.
The KBHS series is a hydraulically operated heavy load brake featuring spring-loaded energy storage.
This function is based on the toggle lever principle. Pre-tensioned stress bolts provide holding force in case of pressure drop. Here the large-surface contact sections, which are equipped with a special brake lining, are pressed directly onto the free surfaces of the section rail.
At a hydraulic opening pressure of 150bar a holding power of up to 40,0000N is achieved.
The KBHS series features a compact design and is suitable from sizes 35 to 125.
The KBHS series is designed for braking and clamping on linear guides. Because of the material combination of the linear guide/contact section, the linear guide won't be damaged by the contact section

The clamping elements react in the shortest possible response time by the patented pneumatic pre-loading of the system of the spring plates in the diaphragm.
These safety systems are permanently operational for the maximum machine protection.

Active without pressure:
The Clamping and Braking Element including spring-loaded energy storage MB
The MB series is based on a dual-effective wedge slide gear with spring-loaded energy storage for clamping and braking without pressure.
As a specific feature it has three pistons connected in a line.
This arrangement allows use of a stronger spring at 4.5 bar than the BW series does. The stronger spring-loaded storage permits holding forces up to 3,800 N.
The MB series is designed for braking on linear guides.
Because of the material combination of the linear guide/contact section, the linear guide won't be damaged by the contact section.
