FPGA Processors

Each TS Series board has an Altera FPGA processor chip, a PCI interface, SRAM, SDRAM, an I/O module, and expansion slots for additional FPGA Computing power. The new SLC-8550-LVA is the 5-inch bay sized (203mm×145mm) CPU board and is a lead-free and RoHS-compliant product. This CPU board supports the Intel 855GME + ICH4 chipset and is compatible with 1.6G-2.0GHz (FSB400MHz) Intel Pentium M processor and 1.3G-1.5GHz (FSB400MHz) Intel Celeron M processor. The main memory complies with PC2700 DDR SDRAM (supports both ECC and non-ECC memory) and is able to contain up to 1 GB.
The SLC-8550-LVA provides the expansion capability including six 232C serial communication ports (two of them are pin header connector), six USB 2.0 ports, CF slot (enables boot-up), AC97 audio and PCI slot, making it ideal for complicated embedded applications. LVDS interface and analog RGA enables the dual independent displays. CONTEC strives to customize contained devices and BIOS of the new SLC-8550-LVA as its custom ordered (OEM) product.

The nanoETXexpress specification, a form factor driven by Kontron, is targeted to deliver extremely power-saving COMs with mid to high performance x86 technology on a footprint that is a mere 55 mm x 84 mm. This is 39 percent of the original COM Express™ module Basic form factor 125 x 95 mm footprint and 51 percent of microETXexpress (95mm x 95mm). This new COM form factor is compliant to COM Express™ module size nano from PICMG and is based on COM.0 Type 1 connector. The locations of the identically mapped pin-outs are also 100 percent COM.0 compliant.
