FNL – for an optimum connection of fieldbus and Ethernet networks up to 100 Mbit/s.
FNL allows the connection to all PROFIBUS DP networks based on RS485 (up to 12 Mbit/s) and supports DP Master class 1/2 on the basis of DP and DPV1 services as well as DP Slave.
The access to FNL is carried out through a TCP/IP socket interface. The interface is operating system independent, completely unfolded and because of its quickness convincing.
The Ethernet based operation mode as MODBUS TCP/IP Slave provides easy integration of FNL as PROFIBUS DP Master into a large number of visualisation and control systems. The PROFIBUS DP based diagnostics and IO data are dynamically compiled into the MODBUS TCP/IP structure and do not have to be configured additionally.
OPC Server
The OPC Server directly connects FNL to all OPC-client-capable Windows applications. OPC is supported by all common SCADA, control, visualization, and process control systems.
Programming Interface
The FNL TCP/IP socket interface provides the exchange of the DP Slaves' process and diagnostics data as well as all DP/DPV1 Master class 1/2 and DP Slave services. So FNL can be easily integrated in any operation systems.
FDT 1.2 Communication DTM
FDT allows the standardized configuration of fieldbus devices via different bus systems like HART-Bus, Foundation Fieldbus, PROFIBUS DP/PA or Ethernet.
LabVIEW Driver
The driver can be integrated in a simple manner into every LabVIEW version due to its standard TCP/IP socket interface. Ethernet and PROFIBUS DP configuration are generated via full graphical tools, included in the delivery. The package also includes LabVIEW sample VIs incl. source code.

FNL Proxy PN/PB
Integration of PROFIBUS DP systems into PROFINET IO networks
The 24 Volt hat rail module contains one PROFIBUS DP interface, four PROFINET IO RT interfaces as well as one RS232 service interface for commissioning and diagnostics.
The proxy integrates both existing and new PROFIBUS DP devices without any modification or adaptation into a PROFINET IO network. The PROFIBUS DP interface supports baud rates from 9.6 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s.
The FNL Proxy PN/PB implements a plenty of PROFIBUS diagnostic functions as well as additional features, such as the configurable behaviour of the PROFIBUS DP Master in case of a break down of the PROFINET IO network or the detailed indication of error codes. Of course, it is also possible to combine several proxies.
COMSOFT‘s CONFIGURATOR II is available for compilation and download of the PROFIBUS configuration. The comfortable and full graphical tool compiles the PROFIBUS configuration via drag and drop mechanism. The integrated online mode allows direct commissioning and diagnostics of the connected PROFIBUS network via Ethernet.
The proxy implemented as PROFINET IO device and based on the Siemens ERTEC400 PROFINET IO controller supports PROFINET IO according to the current specification 2.0 and uses the modular mapping procedure. Input and output data as well as diagnostic data of the single DP Slaves are depicted through device modules (slots and sub-slots). Diagnostics are reported by a PROFINET IO alarm.
Furthermore SNMP diagnostics are included and the TFTP server based firmware update is supported.

Segment couplers are configuration free and transparent: The segment coupler will “display” all devices connected to the PA network as if they were DP field devices. The communication speed on the PA side is independent of the DP side. All PA devices are configured on Master Class I and Class II as DP instrumentation. PA devices only “see” the PA master of the segment coupler, which simulates the DP Master.
Power Hub versions of the segment coupler are based on motherboards – with optional redundancy for both the power module and the gateway components. They connect up to four independent segments to one DP-Master. The basic models couple single PA segments to DP and provide power to the segment. All components are hosted in one small housing.

UNIGATE IC
UNIGATE IC combines all analog and digital signals of the Fieldbus- or Ethernet-interface on a small space of 45 x 25 mm (DIL-32-housing).
The Deutschmann UNIGATE® IC is a complete single-chip bus-solution in a 32-DIL-housing. On a space of 45 x 25 mm only, the device contains all necessary components, such as microcontrollers, Flash, RAM, bus-chip and of course the analog components, such as optocoupler and bus driver. The UNIGATE® IC is connected to the microprocessor of the terminal equipment or it can be operated stand-alone. UNIGATE® ICs are certified and/or tested on the bus and through numerous applications, the problem-free operation with all marketable master systems has been proven. The integrated microprocessor processes the entire data traffic with the bus and consequently relieves the terminal equipment processor of this considerable effort. The protocol of the terminal equipment is converted via a Script in the UNIGATE® IC. With the free PC-tool "Protocol Developer" this Script is generated and optimally adapted to the final product and the requirements of the bus. Changes in the Firmware of the terminal equipment are not necessary and the microprocessor of the terminal equipment is not additionally loaded with communication- and bus-tasks. The hard- and software-interfaces of the Deutschmann UNIGATE® IC-series are standardized and functionally identical. As a result, the ex-changeability between the different UNIGATE® IC-versions of the device control electronics is guaranteed.

The intelligent Gateway for the connection of industrial networks - UNIGATE FB
Connecting incompatible networks
In the field of automatic control many different Fieldbuses and Industrial Ethernet became established worldwide. Again and again the task of interconnecting these incompatible networks comes up. The UNIGATE® FB-series was created exactly for that task. The series contains Fieldbus-Slave as well as Industrial Ethernet versions. The UNIGATE® FB is designed as DIN-rail module and contains the selected Fieldbuses or Ethernet in the mechanical variant carried out in the respective standard. Internally the product is realized by using two UNIGATE® IC-modules that are mounted on a carrier motherboard. By this modular structure all Fieldbus- and Ethernet-versions can be supplied, provided that the respective
IC-modules are available. The number of available versions is growing steadily by the continuous development of new IC-modules e. g. in the Industrial Ethernet field.
In case of the series UNIGATE® FB, the data exchange between the Fieldbuses or Ethernet is realized through a Script. With the free PC-tool "Protocol Developer" this Script is generated and optimally adjusted to the final product and the requirements.

Slave to Slave Gateway:
Many applications involve the need to take two different fieldbus networks with each having its own master control and allow them to exchange data. This happens commonly in applications where two Programmable Logic Controllers need to exchange information. The Anybus® X-gateway helps the user accomplish this by acting as an I/O slave device on each fieldbus. Each fieldbus master writes to the output table of the Anybus® X-gateway on its network and then the Anybus® X-gateway maps this data to the input table of the opposite fieldbus where it can be easily read by the other master.
Master to Slave Gateway:
There are many applications where the user needs to interface field I/O devices to a controller that has a different fieldbus from the I/O. In these instances, the Anybus® X-gateway serves as a fieldbus master on one side while acting as a fieldbus slave on the other. The I/O data is polled from the field devices then mapped into the I/O table of the controller.

AS-Interface networks up to 62 field devices onto a single pair of wires that delivers both signal and power. Actuator Sensor Interface, or AS-Interface, was developed by a group of sensor manufacturers and introduced into the market in 1994. Since that time, it has become the de facto standard for discrete sensors in process industries throughout the world. AS-Interface may be used in hazardous process environments using explosion proof, tray cable, nonincendive and for nonincendive wiring protection concepts.
