O2DS Scanner measures where others give up - think of hot rolled steel.
The O2DS scanner is an optoelectronic unit for non-contact precision measurement in two dimensions, developed for 2D- / profile-measurement in all kinds of industrial applications.
The O2DS is a industrial laser scanner of the Flying Spot type. The measurement is performed by oscillating the triangulation plane over an angel up to 50°. A fine focused/collimated professional laser beam is diffusely reflected from the surface of almost any kind of object, and a CCD-camera records the image through an objective.
The measuring frequency is 2 kHz. Different scanning angels can be combined with four different measuring ranges. The smallest range covers 80 to 180 mm and the largest 380 to 1080 mm. The smaller the measuring range is, the higher the resolution will be.
As well as the ODS sensors, the 02DS scanner can be delivered as HT (high temperature) models for measuring on objects with surface temperature up to about 1200°C. Used under such conditions, precautions must be taken to protect the scanner from the heat.
Professional scanners can furthermore be customized to other than standard scan angels and measuring ranges.

SmartTRACK™
API´s SmartTRACK™ is a break-through for measurements and alignments of large parts and assemblies. API´s SmartTRACK™ Sensor in combination with an API Laser tracker provides you with the position (X, Y, Z) AND the rotational orientation (pitch, yaw, roll angles) in real time!. For 6DOF only one Industrial laser Tracker is needed - instead of three.
The SmartTRACK™ Sensor in operation
A motorized receiver within the SmartTRACK™ Sensor tracks the laser beam providing object pitch and yaw information in real-time. A proprietary roll detection system provides object roll angle. The SmartTRACK™ Sensor greatly simplifies instrument and professional software complexity to perform intricate alignment tasks.
SmartTRACK™ - range of application:
Machine tool calibation, 5 axis
CMM and professional robot calibration
Measurement of hidden points
With intelligent accessories such as the SmartTRACK™ Sensor you can substantially extend the range of application of your API Laser Tracker
Unbeatable portability
Weighing only 1.4kg (3.1lbs), the compact SmartTRACK™ Sensor makes it ideal for direct mounting on alignment fixtures and robot arms. Together with the T3™ Laser Tracker from API the SmartTRACK™ is one of the most compact systems on the market. |

With our new Industrial laser-Distance Sensors DLS-B you measure absolute distances up to 500 meters. Thanks to state of the art laser technology the DLS-B device measures with a precision of 1.5 millimeters. It represents a cost efficient solution even at extreme environment temperatures as low as -40° C.
The DLS-B is an optical measuring device. You can measure, maintenance-free, distances on natural and reflective surfaces. You determine positions on objects difficult to access or with very high surface temperatures. Just as well you can measure distances in an aggressive environment in an easy and accurate way.
Serial, analog and digital interfaces are standard features for the complete DLS-B product line. This enables you to easily connect the DLS-B to a control system (SPS, IPC or PC)
The DLS-B device runs in a “Stand-alone-mode” and independently executes all programmed functions. Thanks to the flexible range of functions an external display can be connected directly to the DLS-B device via interface RS232 or RS422. Via a digital input, measurements can also be activated from an external button or switch.
For easy configuration of the DLS-B devices, the necessary software is at your disposal |

Automatically controlling molten metal pouring processes can provide significant returns in terms of reduced cost, improved throughput and quality – as well as the ability to remove operators from dangerous environments.
LMI sensors are broadly used to provide accurate, sub-millimeter level information from the molten metal surface during pouring, in spite of the hostile smoky, high temperature environment
Our Metal applications division works closely with System Integrators & Original Equipment Machine Suppliers to deliver the most effective solutions for their particular sensor vision needs.

In comparison with conventional LED through-beam sensors, professional laser through-beam sensors are distinguished above all by the high accuracy of their optics. As a result, there is a precise switch point anywhere between the sender and the receiver. In addition, thanks to the narrowly focused beam, very small objects can be detected. Also impressive with the new Contrinex laser through-beam sensors are the long operating distance of 50 m and the high switching frequency of 5 kHz. Sensitivity setting is by means of a potentiometer. The sharply concentrated red laser beam (660 nm) simplifies alignment, since the light spot is clearly visible even at long distances and in ambient light. The devices are built into a short, robust M18 metal housing of stainless steel and have an excess light indicator.
Versions are available either with changeover outputs or with excess light output (light-ON). Contrinex laser switches are, moreover, particularly cost efficient. |
