Sensors using socalled "combined technology" have two or more different technologies combined in one unit. With this combination the disadvantages of each individual technology can be compensated and at the same time their strengths are conjoined for the applications' ideal performance.
Combined technologies are used for the combined activation and safety at automatic doors. Besides, these sensors offer plenty of auxiliary functions which contribute to a substantial enhancement of the comfort around the door.

Herkules 2 is a micromave motion detector for industrial doors.
The Herkules 2 microwave motion detector has been specifically developed for use with industrial doors. It detects, differentiates between or masks out people or vehicles and can switch the output relays separately, depending on the requirement.
Herkules 2 is a logical further refinement of our successful microwave detectors that are also used for automatic doors. Our wealth of experience, combined with progressive planar technology, gives Herkules 2 a considerable range of functions and reliability.

A sensationally definable and precise field is a characteristic feature of this microwave motion detector which is the flattest in the world. The unique, innovative microwave antenna developed by Bircher Reglomat gives you an nrivaled field geometry the CubeZone it makes undetected passing between the door panels and the microwave field almost impossible. ArtMotion activates
your automatic door with complete reliability.
The elegantly shaped ArtMotion is extremely flat, only 25 mm thick, and can be installed intuitively without requiring significant preliminary knowledge. You can programme the required
settings easily using the potentiometer and two DIP switches.

Thanks to its extremely high versatility, Merkur 2 leads the way and can be used on virtually any type of automatic door. With its totally reliable detection, Merkur 2 provides a smooth flow of people and also ensures savings on energy and costs! The intelligent sensor system has an optional direction recognition and thereby makes sure that the door only opens when people are approaching or leaving. The door closes again immediately afterwards. For escape and emergency exits, the Merkur 2 ES.SM version is fitted with a built-in self-monitoring device.

Radar Level Meter for distance, level and volume of liquids, pastes and solids
OPTIWAVE
works better than any radar ever before.
In contrast to earlier radar devices, the new OPTIWAVE with its more advanced design solutions is able to operate over a larger bandwidth. This ensures a sharper resolution and higher accuracy. The higher signal dynamics of OPTIWAVE allow the detection of even the smallest level changes.

Extremely short microwave impulses with low emitted power in the C-band and K-band frequency range are emitted by the antenna system to the measured product, reflected by the product surface and received again by the antenna system. They spread with light velocity and the time from the emission to receipt of the signals is proportional to the level in the vessel. A special time spreading procedure enables a reliable and precise measurement of extremely short time periods.
By simply entering the vessel dimensions, a level-proportional signal can be displayed. An adjustment with emptied and filled vessel is no longer necessary!
The spreading of microwaves is virtually not affected by the ambient temperature and ambient pressure. Radar sensors are ideal for use under arduous process conditions. Pressures from vacuum to 160 bar and temperatures between -40 and 400C are no problem for a radar level measurement.
Fluctuating product compositions or complete changes of the product do not influence the measurement result. A new adjustment is not necessary.

For measuring ranges up to 70 m, VEGA now has an optimised radar technology in its program. Due to its increased receiver sensitivity (factor 40), VEGAPULS 68 delivers reliable measured values in spite of higher signal damping in solids.
Non-contacting radar measurement delivers reliable levels in dusty environments, like in storage facilities for building materials. Also in the food processing industry, in steel production as well as for level measurement of powders and granulates in the chemical industry, the extended measuring range has proven to be extremely effective. Adjustable fl anges allow the eduction of false refl ections and the optimisation of the useful echo.
All advantages in an overview
- non-contact measurement
- unaffected by dust generation
- not infl uenced by fi lling noise
- high dynamic range of the sensor
- measuring range up to 70 m
- antenna cleaning by cooling air
- dust-Ex approval

The OTT RLS, non-contact radar level sensor with pulse radar technology is ideal for monitoring in remote or hard to reach locations. The RLS accurately and efficiently measures surface water level. Approximately 16 individual measurements are conducted each second and averaged after 20 seconds to minimize the influences of waves.
The OTT RLS offers a large measurement range with a small blanking distance and narrow beam width. The sensor is easily connected to most any data logger via standardized communication interfaces. The RLS has extremely low power consumption and is ideal for remote or solar powered sites.

High frequency microwave impulses are coupled to a cable or rod and guided along the probe. The impulses are reflected by the product surface and received by the processing electronics.
Due to this measuring principle, the comprehensive adjustment with the product is no longer necessary. The instruments are adjusted to the ordered electrode length. The shortable cable and rod versions are suitable for individual adaptation to the local conditions.
Even process conditions such as high dust and noise generation or strong steamy atmospheres do not influence the accuracy of the measurement.
Density fluctuations, different granulation or even fluidising do not influence the accuracy. This applies also to the change from dry to wet gravel.
Strong build-up on the electrode or on the vessel wall does not affect the measuring result.
With measuring ranges up to 30 m, the sensors are also suitable for high vessels. Temperatures up to 150C and pressures from vacuum up to 40 bar cover a wide application range.
By using a coaxial guide tube, VEGAFLEX 65 operates completely unaffected by vessel installations such as e.g. heating spirals or struts. A special adjustment is not necessary.
