The fillers for reaction columns where, usually at higher temperatures, take their course reactions of absorption, desorption, extraction, and suchlike, are manufactured in standard forms (Raschig rings, Pall rings, Berl saddles) and dimensions, as well as on customers’ request.
The ceramic fillers are manufactured of chemically resistant quartz porcelain.

Koch-Glitsch manufactures FLEXISADDLE™ random packing in plastic and ceramic materials. Plastic FLEXISADDLE™ packing is available in three sizes: 1", 2" and 3". Ceramic FLEXISADDLE™ packing is available in five sizes: 3/4", 1", 1 1/2", 2" and 3".
The following are capacity and pressure drop charts for plastic FLEXISADDLE™ random packing and ceramic FLEXISADDLE™ random packing.
FLEXISADDLE™ random packing and BALLAST SADDLE™ Random Packing are equivalent.

" HelieR - Random Packing "
The HelieR Random Packing have Specific Transfer Areas from 50 m2/m3 up to 280 m2/m3 .
Thanks to its geometry and to the presence of special "windows", the HelieR Random Packing permit to:
> avoid the formation of preferred paths
> have lowest pressure drops
when compared to other random packing .
Available in different diameters (1", 1.5", 4") they can be made in various materials, in accordance with the process specifications for which they are chosen.
Among the various application of the "HelieR Random Packing", we have
- Bio-Percolators
- Absorption Columns
- Washing Towers
- Distillation Columns
- Transfer Beds
- Washing Columns
- Percolators
- Desorption Columns
- Cooling Towers
- Stripping
- Washing
- Stripping Columns
all of which are "Mass Transfer Equipment" hugely used by many process industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil, Energy, Cogeneration Plant, Water Treatment, Sludge Treatment ... and the "Process Engineering" sector in general.
Practically every time it is needed to have an "Exchange Surface" to
A) regulate the process parameters
B) apply any Mass Transfer Operation
C) realize any Heat Transfer Operation
between two different fluids (Gas VS Liquid) or two equal fluids (Gas VS Gas, Liquid VS Liquid) the "HelieR Random Packing" is applicable giving the "equipment user" (i.e. designer. process engineer, manufacturer, final user ... Client) the right answer to his:
> Process Requirements
> Process Specifications
and guarantees :
> high performance
> an ideal price / performance ratio
