High pressure reactors can be customized with sightglasses, liners & high pressure analytical probes. Ease of cleaning & elimination of foot bearings reduces the risk of cross-contamination. Parr's Series 5500 High Pressure Compact Laboratory Reactors (HPCL reactors) are based upon our popular micro and mini, Series 4590 & 4560 reactors for chemical reactions under elevated temperature and pressure. This stirred reactors feature a smaller, more compact magnetic drive and variable speed stirrer motor that is directly coupled to the magnetic drive.
These designs are ideal for not only investigators with limited space or budgets, but also by investigators building multiple reactor installations for combinatorial chemistry or high throughput investigations.
The reaction vessels used in these new HPCL reactors are identical to the ones furnished in the Series 4590 micro reactors and the Series 4560 mini reactors. HPCL reactors use the popular Parr split ring closure. These vessels are rated for a maximum working pressure of 3000 psi. The maximum operating temperature is dependent upon the seal selected, PTFE gasket for up to 350 C; with FKM O-ring to 225 C or FFKM O-ring to 275 C.
The 25, 50, and 100 mL reactors are equipped with gas inlet and outlet valves, a liquid sampling valve, pressure gage, safety rupture disc and internal thermocouple in addition to the internal stirrer. The 300, 450 and 600 mL reactors provide an internal cooling loop in addition to these fittings.

An extensive choice of designs can efficiently and cost-effectively meet the individual user's operating requirements with pressures up to 5000 PSI for operating temperatures to 500C. Parr glass reactors offer a corrosion resistant vessel with Teflon coated internals. Glass reactors also permit direct observation of mixing action, color changes, or changes of state. Vessels are rated to 150 PSI (10 bar) at 225C. Six sizes are available from 160mL to 1,500mL in glass and glass jacketed versions.

The 5000 Multiple Reaction System from Parr Instrument Company has been designed for rapid screening of catalyst and similar parallel or combinatorial studies. It features six individual reactors (45 ml or 75 ml) for operating pressures to 3000 PSI and temperatures to 225C (o-ring gasket) or 300C (PTFE gasket). A magnetic stirrer bar provides sample mixing.

Parr Tubular Reactors combine continuous flow reactions with an endless number of customization possibilities. Tubular reactors are always used in a continuous flow mode with reagents flowing in and products being removed. Flow can be single phase or two-phased, single wall or jacketed.

DRUVATHERM Reactor DVT
The DRUVATHERM reactor consists of a horizontal, cylindrical drum and an also horizontal shaft with specific mixing elements. The machine is used for mixing and thermal treatment of reactive products in batch operation. The excellent mixing allows to reduce solvent amounts and still get the sufficient contact of the reactive elements and therefore high reaction yields. The reduction of the solvent reduces raw material cost as well as downstream cost for separating the product and treatment of the remaining solvent. The reactor can be operated at a maximum of 30 bar internal pressure.
