Designed with a length to diameter ratio of approximately 4-1/2 to 1 , this line of carbide boring tools features set-screw flats that position the cutting edge on exact centerline when used in a Criterion Boring Head.
They are available in two all-purpose grades of carbide - the ABT tools are a grade C-2 and are used on cast iron and all non-ferrous materials. The SBT tools are a grade C-6 and are intended for use on steel and other continuous chip materials. For the correct grade for your particular job we suggest you contact your carbide supplier or you may refer to the comparison charts found in most carbide catalogs.
Carbide Boring Tools with minimum boring diameters of 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 feature a solid carbide neck and head. |

CoroPlex™ MT
By introducing the multifunctional CoroPlex™ MT Sandvik Coromant establishes a new standard that is of outmost user benefit for operations performed with the latest of machine tool technologies.
CoroPlex MT is a combination of two winning concepts in one – CoroMill 390 and CoroTurn 107. It is either applied rotating as an effective tool for milling applications – or indexed in a number of optional positions for stationary turning using two different CoroTurn 107 inserts.
Sandvik Coromant´s multifunctional tool CoroPlex MT is designed for practically unrestricted use of all the insert positions possible without support of any extra software. Although CoroPlex MT is dedicated for Multi-Task machining it is easy to use the tool in somewhat older machines working with the software capacity limited to conventional standard cycles.
CoroPlex™ MT is an innovative multifunctional tool for finishing the workpieces in a single set-up with reduced downtime on the machine. It also completes together with CoroPlex TT twin tools, with two inserts in one holder giving the possibility to change operations momentarily, and CoroPlex SL mini-turret, with four turning tools in one, the dedicated tooling Sandvik Coromant provides Multi-Task machining. |

ZX Modular Boring Tools (MBT) offer versatility and economy when machining bores, counter-bores, tapers, threads, and complex contours inside components, over a wide range of diameters. These tools offer the highest cutting speeds and material removal rates available.
The MBT series is available in single-slide (MBT-S) and twin-slide (MBT-T) versions. All MBT tools feature 2:1 actuation ratio for easy programming. |

| A boring tool is usually a modular tool, consisting of a basic holder, adapter and a cutting unit in the form of a cartridge, slide or fine boring unit. A fine boring head holds a boring bar or cartridge. A reamer has a tool shank and a close pitch head with brazed blades. The tools, except the reamer, are radially adjustable within a specific diameter range. |

Sandvik Coromant now introduces CoroBore 820, a unique addition to its boring tool programme.
CoroBore 820 is a new solution for high productive boring preferably in roughing operations. The boring range is 35 - 260 mm and the boring depth is up to 4 x diameter. It is designed for internal coolant supply.
Three cutting edges allow a higher penetration rate with maintained tool life. A comprehensive programme of tool bodies, slides, shims and cutting inserts allow CoroBore 820 to be configured to suit the widest possible range of applications.
CoroBore 820 in combination with Duobore makes a highly productive team for rough boring from Sandvik Coromant. |

When the greater length of a standard boring tool is more a hindrance than a help, Criterion offers this line of Stubby Boring Tools. Maximum rigidity is assured whether the tools are used in a boring head or in the cross-slide of a lathe.
Available in shank diameters of 1/2", 3/4" and 1", these husky tools are made in both HSS and carbide. Stubby Boring Tools may also be ordered with square shanks. |
