The Bare Compressor unit consists of cylinders and cylinder heads, fitted in V configuration on a crankcase. Valve flats are provided in between the cylinders and cylinder heads along with stainless steel finger type valve plates to perform air suction and discharge operations. Disc valves are provided for 15 HP models.

The gastight casing reduces gas emission and losses to the environment to zero. 'H' series compressors are used for Air or Nitrogen compression. Each compressor is an air-cooled, single acting, three or four stage-reciprocating piston compressor with the combination of oil pressure fed crankshaft bearings, and cylinder oil splash with regulated injection for the final high-pressure piston plunger design.
Performance with inert gases, such as Nitrogen, ranges from 10 to 150 Nm^3/h within a final pressure range of 100 to 350 bar including the Sauer unique NitroFlex integrated 'all-in-one' - Compressor, generator and gas booster.
'W' series compressors are oil-lubricated, single acting water-cooled piston compressors for air or inert gas compression in two or three stages from 10 to 100 bar with gas flow-rates from 65 to 400 Nm^3/h.
'LB' series inert gas boosters are dedicated nitrogen gas boosters that can accept suction pressures from 4 to 14 bar to deliver gas to a maximum of 40 bar. This single stage gas booster range is the result of years of trouble-free experience with the 'L' range.
'L' series compressor/boosters offer a wide range of gas flow-rates from 10 to 400 m^3/h at pressures to 40 bar in two or three stages based upon the established marine diesel air-start Sauer range of two and three stage oil-lubricated, piston compressors. Even as air compressors they can be safely adapted for use in Ex-atmospheres to ATEX regulations

Elgi is the first and only Indian manufacturer chosen by Indian Railways for indigenization of compressors for GM ( General Motors) Locomotives. The newest compressor developed for Indian railways is the RR66101 W, a two stage W type reciprocating compressor with forced lubrication and water-cooled stages. The compressor has a discharge pressure of 140 psi and a free air delivery rating 190 cfm at 900 rpm.
The complete design and development was done in-house in compliance to DFSS specifications. Three compressor have been validated for 3000 hours of continuous running as a part of the functional qualification test. Further, three compressors have been validated over a period of 50 hours running under the temperature of 80 degree celsius to satisfy the operating environment specifications. PH and PHB piston compressors deliver compressed air at pressures ranging from 15 to 35 bar. The intake pressure for all PH models is atmospheric, while the PHB booster compressors process air with intake pressures ranging from 6 to 10 bar. Both Series share high-performance features and components to ensure maximum reliability.
PH series high-pressure reciprocating compressors, lubricated, air cooled, with measured capacity from 12 to 46 m3/h and delivery pressure from 15 to 35 bar, have been designed to guarantee high performance over time. Every PH model has a dual-stage piston air end, with special steel pipes for inter-cooling the compressed air and improving the overhaul compressor efficiency. PH compressors are equipped with condensate separator and electronic controlled drainer, non-return valve of Hoerbiger type, intake and outlet pressure gauge.
PHB series boosters are lubricated reciprocating compressors with measured capacity from 8 to 150 m3/h, intake air pressurized from 6 to 10 bar and final pressure at 20 or 35 bar. These compressors are compact and silent thanks to the vibration-proof rubber bushings supporting the booster frame, easy to install without foundations or soundproof cabin. Coupled with medium pressure compressors in a centralized installation or remotely connected to the pneumatic line, the boosters are a flexible and cost-effective solution for feeding high pressure air to manufacturing processes and tools.
