Measurement Computing today announced the release of three new 1-MHz, 16-bit multifunction USB data acquisition devices, and a cost-saving expansion module for high channel count applications. The USB-1616HS, the USB-1616HS-2, and the USB-1616HS-4 deliver outstanding performance with synchronous analog, digital, and frequency I/O in one compact package. The AI-EXP48 plug-in expansion module coupled with any of the USB-1616HS series modules can quadruple the analog input channel count.
The USB-1616HS series modules have a unique, low-latency control output mode, whereby any input—analog, digital, or counter, can control an output—digital, analog, or timer, based on pre-defined limits, including hysteresis. The outputs are controlled directly from the USB-1616HS series module, and do not require PC intervention. This results in response times that are measured in microseconds instead of milliseconds
The USB-1616HS series offers extensive trigger options, ranging from analog trigger with 1 µs max latency, to multichannel triggering, where any combination of analog, digital, and counter input channels can be combined to initiate the trigger. Other trigger modes include digital pattern, level, edge, inside/outside window, and pre- and post-trigger.

MCC has announced the addition of two battery powered temperature dataloggers to its growing datalogger line. These battery powered dataloggers are offered in two models: the USB-501 for remote temperature logging, and the USB-502 for remote temperature and relative humidity logging. These products are the perfect, cost-effective solution for long or short-term data logging applications. Both the USB-501 and USB-502 log up to 16,382 temperature measurements in the -35 to +80 ºC (-31 to +176 ºF) range. The USB-502 additionally supports up to 16,382 additional relative humidity measurements over the full 0 to 100 percent range. Rates for both dataloggers can be set from 10-second to 12-hour intervals. The loggers plug directly into a standard PC or laptop USB port for setup and data download. The included USB-500 Series Data Logging Application software supports both products. This user-friendly, intuitive software is used initially to configure the loggers, program alarm thresholds, logging rates, start times, and measurement units. When the loggers are retrieved from the field, the software provides simple one-click access to download, display, and export the data.
With the included USB-500 Data Logging Application software, the user can display time-stamped temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and alarm limits on a powerful strip chart graph. The data can also be downloaded to a text or a .csv (comma separator values) file. Supporting these file types allows users to easily export the logged data to Excel. With one mouse click, spreadsheets and reports are easily generated. The software and USB-500 series dataloggers are compatible with Windows 2000/XP. |

With the PCI board APCI-3701 from Addi-Data the user can acquire up to 16 inductive displacement transducers of the type LVDT or Half-Bridge directly with a precision of
0.1 µm according to the transducer type. Now the board is also available as 1-channel version, and is delivered with the calibration and update tool SET3701. The new unique calibration tool SET3701 is divided in two parts: In the first one, the administration area, boards and transducers are selected and in the second one, the calibration part, the transducers have micro-calibration. In the administration part the installed boards of the type APCI-3701 are recognised automatically. In the board firmware 14 common transducers with all parameters are already available. The user also can select pre-calibrated transducers or just add customer-specific transducers. The assistant, with integrated help-file, supports the user step by step. After the calibration a board test is possible: For each channel a window with a graphic opens, which reflects all acquired data. The standard delivery also includes programming samples for LabView, Delphi, C, VB, etc. |

IFR INECTION FLOW AND RATE
PRESENTATION
The IFR (Injection Flow and Rate) is a device for measuring injection volume on a stroke-bystroke basis.
It is particularly adapted for monitoring the high-energy multi-stroke injection systems found on modern diesel motors.
ADVANTAGES
- Instantaneous flow measurement of up to 10 injections/revolution.
- Real time display of the injection rate curve.
- Injection rate identical to the measurement given by a «rate tube».
- Analysis of the injection rate and time measurements.
- Mass measurement accuracy regardless of injection conditions : pressure, speed.
- Back pressure can be regulated from 5 to 100 bars.
- Injection measurement during 180° rotation from the pump (360° motor).
DEVICE STRUCTURE
The IFR system is made up of :
-a mechanical element including measurements of volume (mass), pressure and temperature.
-an electronic element which manages the measurement cycle and carries out all the necessary calculations at each revolution.
PRINCIPE DE FONCTIONNEMENT
The injected fluid is collected in an injection chamber maintained at a constant, static pressure. This injection back-pressure can be regulated from 5 to 100 bars.
The increase of the mass in the injection chamber causes an increase in the instantaneous pressure, providing an image of injection volume.
At the end of the injection cycle, the injected fluid is transferred into a volumetric measurement chamber which performs an accurate measurement of the total injected mass. The pressure signal from the first chamber is analysed to determine all the mass measurements, the time intervals and the duration of each injection. |

Piezoelectric film ultrasound transmitters and receivers offer unique advantages for air ranging applications. Resonance frequency and vertical beam directivity of the transmitter and receiver can easily be customized by changing the diameter and length of the PVDF cylinder. Cylindrical PVDF receivers exhibit very wide horizontal or omni-directional beam directivity and broad band characteristics. These characteristics lend unique solutions in many applications such as two-dimensional positioning, digitizer, object detection, and distance measurement. Piezo film ultrasound transducers also have very low resonance "Q" values. This means that the signal rise and decay times are much shorter than conventional ceramic ultrasound transducers, making Piezo film transducers ideal for positioning applications.

The HMP228 is a fast, reliable and accurate on-line detection system for water in oil.
Moisture measurements from lubrication oil can significantly cut maintenance costs and prolong machine lifetime. The HMP228 measures water activity and temperature from oil. In connection with oil, water activity measurement offers several advantages compared to the traditionally measured variable, parts per million (ppm). Water activity indicates directly whether there is risk for free water formation. The measurement is independent of the type, aging or temperature of the oil.
