SIM-Small Instrumentation Modules-is a compact test and measurement platform for a wide range of applications. Unlike other modular systems, SIM offers complete front-panel as well as remote operation, allowing you to choose between manual and computer control. Up to eight instruments share the same mainframe which provides power, clock synchronization, communications, and module status. Electronic vibrometer for measurement of vibration displacement and velocity

The TK81 Tunable Filter/Vibration Meter is a low-cost, portable handheld instrument for basic vibration measurements. It can display vibration in both unfiltered (overall) and filtered modes. It accepts inputs from displacement, velocity, and acceleration transducers, but does not provide power for them.
Its filtering capability is particularly useful for diagnosing vibration problems occurring at particular frequencies on all types of machinery. The TK81 is powered by a single 9V transistor battery.

Industrial plant such as rotating machinery will generate a vibration signature comprising spectral components associated with specific
primary vibration sources-rotors, bearings, moving parts. These will further excite passive, static elements such that the overall spectrum, although containing information relevant to say, balance, bearing wear, electrical faults, may be difficult to interpret.
Frequency selective measurement provides the means for recovering
meaningful source dependant data buried in wideband signals, and to therefore diagnose the state of specific machine components.
