RF (radio frequency) amplifiers are used in wide-band radio-communications and beyond the Gigahertz level.

Applications

RF amplifiers are used in cellular communications, in digital radio, in WIMAX, on pulsed UHF radios and by the military. They are used to test radio communications systems. Labs use them in ultrasound and laser applications, EMC tests, forensics and in the medical world.

Technologies

RF amplifiers feature cutting-edge GaN or LDMOS technologies, with excellent stability in terms of gain, temperature and current. Their output connections provide optimal antenna adaptation and good standing wave ratios (SWR) for the best possible power transfer.

Bigger systems can feature more sophisticated cooling systems and different management methods such as I2C buses, USBs, RS232s and network connections. Some models use integrated circuits.

How to choose

Power gain will be an important criterion. Also consider linearity, the amplification class (A or AB), the frequency range and the number of channels.
