IKO Crossed Roller Bearings are compact bearings with their rollers alternately crossed at right angles to each other between inner and outer rings. They can take loads from any directions at the same time such as radial, thrust and moment loads. The rollers make line-contact with raceway surfaces, and , therefore, elastic deformation due to bearing loads is very small. These bearings are widely used in the rotating parts of industrial robots, machine tools, medical equipment, etc., which require compactness, high rigidity and high rotational accuracy. In addition, bearings made of stainless steel or those with inner and outer rings provided with mounting holes are also available on request. Please contactIKO.

Axial cylindrical roller bearings comprise axial cylindrical roller and cage assemblies and shaft and housing locating washers.
The bearings have particularly small axial section height, have high load carrying capacity and high rigidity and can support axial forces in one direction.
|
|
|
Full Complement Cylindrical Roller Bearings are designed to carry heavy load. Comparing with traditional bearings with cage, full complement cylindrical bearings have much higher loading capacity. The radial cross section of the type of bearings is very small. So it can be very sp0ace-saving. However the limiting speed of the bearings is relatively lower. All the multi-row cylindrical roller bearings are with a lubrication groove and one nipple on the outer ring.

Cylindrical roller bearings
Feature
Cylindrical rollers have linear contact with the raceway, and the bearings can carry heavier radial load. Applications are found in situations characterized by heavy load and shock load and also high rotation speed. The N type and NU type bearings can be movable along the shaft. They can adapt to the position changes between the shaft and housing caused by the thermal expansion or the mounting error and are most suitable for free end shafts. NJ and NF types can accept certain axial load in one direction, and NH and NUP types can accept certain axial load in two directions. Inner ring and outer ring can be separable, and be they are convenient to mount and dismount. FC, FCD and FCDP types can carry comparatively heavy radial load and are mainly applied for mill rolls.
Applications
These bearings are mostly found in middle-sized and large-sized motors, electricity generators, internal combustion engines, gas turbines, machine tool spindles, deceleration devices, unloading and lifting machines and other industrial machines.

Cylindrical Roller Bearings
Large radial load capacity.
Suitable for high-speed applications.
Low friction between rollers and flanges.
Configuration N , NU
No redial load capacity due to no flange of outer or inner ring.
Used a non-locating side.
Configuration NF , Configuration NJ , Configuration NUH
Small radial load capacity in only one direction with on integral flange or by mountings a loose flange.

Higher Load Capacities Provide Longer Life
Using larger rollers than those in conventional bearings drastically increases the load carrying capacity of this bearing design. This increase in load capacity provides for longer bearing life.
Low Temperature Rise and Quiet Operation
A polyamide retainer is highly effective in minimizing temperature increases and ensuring quiet operation at high operating speeds.

Cylindrical roller bearings have high radial-load capacity and moderate thrust loads. They contain rollers which are cylindrically-shaped, but are not true cylinders. Instead, these rollers are crowned or end-relieved to reduce stress concentrations. This geometry results in low friction and allows for high-speed applications. Cylindrical roller bearings are commonly available in precision grades such as RBEC-5, a classification from the Roller Bearing Engineers Committee (RBEC). RBEC ratings describe the accuracy and tolerance range for different types of bearings. As a rule, the higher the RBEC number, the tighter the bearing tolerances. Typically, cylindrical roller bearings are lubricated with oil, which also serves as a coolant.
Most cylindrical roller bearings are made of alloy steels or low-carbon steels. Some applications require the use of case-hardened or thorough-hardened, high-carbon, bearing-quality steel. High-carbon grades of steel do not require carburizing and can be case-hardened by induction heating or thorough-hardened by conventional heating methods. When low-carbon, carburized grades of steel are used, carbon is introduced after the cylindrical roller bearings are machined to a depth sufficient to produce a hardened case that can sustain bearing loads. The addition of carbon and alloys ensures the proper combination of a hard, fatigue-resistant case and a tough, ductile core.

Construction of this roller bearing type is the simplest of all radial roller bearings. This bearing type is often used in high-speed applications. Because the inner ring, outer ring, and rollers are in line contact, this bearing type has a large radial load capacity. Various Cylindrical roller bearing configurations are:
N,NJ,NF,NU,RNU : integral ribs (flanges)
NH,NP;NUP;NUH : integral and loose ribs
NN,NNU : double-row bearings
Configurations having integral flanges or loose ribs on both the inner and outer rings can sustain a asmall amount of axial load. Since this bearing type supports axial loads as sliding action between the end of the rollers and flange faces, axial loading is Limited. Double-row Cylindrical roller bearings are used for high-speed, high-accuracy applications such as; main spindle support for lathes, milling machines, machining centers.

RKB double row taper roller bearings can take up heavy loads.
The basic styles are two row converging TDI configuration and two row diverging TDO configuration.
RKB bearings in TDI configuration have a double cone assembly and two single cups and they are generally supplied with a cup spacer.
The cup spacer is face ground after accurate measurement of the distance to obtain a predetermined internal play. Spacers or components may not be interchanged.
RKB also produces the taper roller steep contact angle TDIS version with higher thrust capacity than the TDI type.
These TDIS bearings have combination of face slots (e.g. N, N1, N2) and bore key-way for locking the cone on the shaft.
Also helical groove in the bore and lubrication grooves in side faces of double cone and/or retention sleeve with annular groove and lubrication holes can be provided.
RKB bearings in TDO configuration have a double cup, two single cone assemblies and can be supplied with a shaft supported cone spacer.
The TDO style bearings are mainly used in a floating cup mounting. Additional features of a lubrication groove and oil holes in the double cup for simplified lubrication through the outer ring are included (suffix CD).
In the TDO type the contact angle diverges, so the rigidity of the shaft mounting is increased.
Bearing sets with steep contact angle and intermediate ring, pierced rollers and steel pin-type cage (TDOS design), bearing sets with extended inner rings which abut each other (TDONA and TDONASW designs), bearing sets with heavy wall cup (TNASWH design) and bearing sets with shields of pressed steel (TDO 4422 design) are also in RKB manufacturing program.

Spherical roller bearings are bearings for highest loads and contain two rows of symmetric barrel-shaped rollers which adjust automatically without force in the hollow-ball outer raceway.
Based on this design, shaft deflections and alignment errors can be compensated.
Spherical roller bearings are provided with the maximum number of rollers with highest diameter and high length.
Uniform stress distribution and high load-carrying capacities are archieved by the close osculation between rollers and raceways.
The standard designs of SLF spherical roller bearings are E designs, thus E will not be written separately.
Spherical roller bearings are provided with cylindrical and conical bores. In addition, they are provided with an lubrication ring groove and lubrication bores at the outer race without any additional identification being made.

|
These bearings stand radial and thrust loads but axially in one direction only.
They are available with different contact angles as per specs ISO 355.
For heavy industries, multiple two or four rows bearings are available, metric and inch sized.
For easy assembly in blind configuration, with precise adjustment of the internal clearance, there can be available matched sets of two bearings with spacer.

Tapered roller bearings are designed such that cup, cone and rollers have tapered surfaces whose apexes converge at a common point on the bearing axis. Along with metric series bearings, inch series bearings are also available. This type of bearing is suitable for applications that involve heavy or impact loading.
Tapered roller bearings consist of an inner ring (cone), an outer ring (cup), a cage and rollers which are profiled to distribute the load evenly. They have high radial and axial (thrust) load capacities at low to intermediate speeds. Tapered roller bearings are available in single-row, two-row and four-row designs. With single-row bearings, the thrust load capacity is about 60% of the radial capacity. Double-row bearings have a greater radial load capacity and can handle thrust loads from both directions. The rollers can be configured so that the contact lines to the races converge or diverge towards the axis of rotation. Diverging double-row bearings increase the rigidity of the shaft mounting, but converging bearings do not. Other configurations for double-row bearings feature a single outer ring and two inner rings, or two outer rings and a single inner ring. Four-row tapered roller bearings consist of four rows of alternating converging and diverging rollers.
|
|
Single row tapered roller bearings are separable radial bearings:
- Suitable for high radial loads and thrust loads (in one direction)
- Take up tilting moments
- When paired, can take up thrust loads in both directions
- Standards: DIN 616, DIN 720
- Series: 30200, 30300, 31300, 32000, 32200, 32300, 33000, 33100, 33200
- Application examples: gear boxes, pumps, compressors, etc.
Tapered roller bearings, IKOS design are sealed, ready-for-use, non-separable bearing units.
|
|
The inner and outer ring raceways and rollers of this type of bearing are made with a taper so that the planes of the surfaces of the raceways and roller axis meet at a point. The rollers are guided by the cone (inner ring) back-face rib. A single-row Tapered roller bearing can support a combined radial and axial load. If either a radial load or bi-directional axial load is to be carried, a pair of bearings must be used in a "face-to-face" or "back-to-back" mounting.
Tapered roller bearings are separable into the components: outer ring, inner ring and roller assembly. The non-separable inner ring and roller assembly is called the "cone", and the outer ring is called the "cup". Internal clearance is established during mounting by the axial positioning of the cone relative to the cup. This bearing type can be used in a preload situation to obtain higher rigidity and better running accuaracy of the shaft.
|
|
Since the rolling elements in cylindrical roller bearings make line contact with raceways, these bearings can accommodate heavy radial loads . The rollers are guided by ribs on either the inner or outer ring ,therefore these bearings aer also suitablefor high speed applications.Furthermore, cylindrical roller bearings are separable ,and relatively easy to install and disassemble even when interference fits are required.
Double and multiple row bearing arrangments are also available.
Single row cylindrical roller bearings can accommodate heavy radial loads and high speeds. They are manufactured in several different designs, the main difference being in the configuration of the flanges .The most popular are the NU,N,NJ and NUP designs.
|
|
|
Tapered roller bearings comprise solid inner and outer rings with tapered raceways and tapered rollers with cages. The bearings are not self-retaining. As a result, the inner ring together with the rollers and cage can be fitted separately from the outer ring. Tapered roller bearings can support axial loads from one direction as well as high radial loads. They must normally be axially adjusted against a second bearing fitted in a mirror image arrangement.
