The PLATE HANDLER can be used for different applications. The first development is to automate the colony counting with COUNTERMAT FLASH or Flash & Go.
Built-in Bar code reader: The bar code reader stops the rotating movement when has got the information. This information could be used for identification purposes as well as to give orders to the counter.
Compact carrousel: The Petri plates are stacked in a carrousel that contains up to 80 (four columns of 20). The carrousel is taken from the incubator and installed in the unit. The Petri dishes can have a bar code label to be identified. If they do not have a bar code label, the position of the Petri plate in the column and the column itself are used as identification.
Automated counting: The PLATE HANDLER can be used for different applications. The first development is to automate the colony counting with the COUNTERMAT FLASH or Flash and Go.

Increasing numbers of legislative measures are aimed at improving air quality (e.g. in working place environments) and require gas-monitoring equipment with the flexibility to provide sensitive and accurate monitoring. LumaSense offers Multipoint Sampler systems for comprehensive air-exchange analyses and ventilation-efficiency checks.
Multipoint Sampler INNOVA 1309 can be used in conjunction with the gas monitors 1412 and 1314 or the Fermentation Monitor 1313 to provide a multi-channel monitoring system.
The 1309 increases the monitoring capabilities of the gas monitors by drawing air-samples through tubing from up to 12 different sampling points and delivering the samples to the monitor.
Up to 6 temperature sensors, connected to the 1309, can be positioned at the sampling points (up to 50m away) to give information about the environment at that point. The temperature-transducer inputs are suitable for use with the Air Temperature Transducer MM 0034.
The Multipoint Sampler and Doser INNOVA 1303 is used in conjunction with a Photoacoustic Field Gas-Monitor 1412 to provide an air-exchange analysis and ventilation-efficiency monitoring system. It increases the area monitoring capabilities of the 1412 by drawing air-samples through tubing from up to six different sampling points (up to 50 m away) and delivering the samples to the 1412.
The doser system marks the supply-air of the room with a known amount of tracer-gas.
The sampler system then takes a sample of the return-air from the room, and delivers the sample to the Gas-Monitor 1412 for analysis. If required, the ventilation-system performance can be calculated and controlled by the Application Software 7620.

The M 11 manual piston sampler is used to obtain a 50 cm3 volume sample in a vertical chute.
This sampler has the advantage of not altering the particle size distribution of the sample, and the sampling is carried out using a 50 cm3 calibrated opening. When it is not in the sampling position, the sampler is retracted and does therefore not protrude into the product chute.
The sample collection begins by pushing the piston of the sampler into the product flow using the handle. The sample is collected gravitally, and is then discharged by pulling back the handle and rotating it a 180°.

Pneumatic piston sampler type P11
The P 11 sampler with pneumatic control is set up to extract a quantity of product defined through a vertical pipe. This volume is selected by a twin wheel which controls the cleaning and the tightness of the whole. The sampling collection is made by the pneumatic piston action within the chamber. It enters into the material flow by putting off the residual product. When the piston is in the flow, the product is collected in the twin wheel. The sample is collected gravity. Two air intakes are forecast : one for the twin wheel cleaning in the rear position and one for the retention of the product.
Main Advantages :
Constant volume
No mechanical constraint
Adjustable frequency
Less pollution between two operations
Easy to install
Easy to use

The rotating cup sampler type PGR is made of a steel body set up between 2 flanges directly into the vertical chute, from which a representative sample will be extracted. A pivoting sampling spoon, is used to cut across the flow of material and grab a representative sample. When at rest, this spoon remains outside the product flow.
As each particle in the product flow has an equal probability of being sampled this sampler provides a really representative sample.

Automated Dynamic Headspace DHS is available for the GERSTEL MultiPurpose Sampler MPS. The DHS station efficiently extracts and concentrates VOCs from liquid or solid samples placed in standard Headspace vials. The sample is thermostated and agitated while the headspace is purged with a controlled flow of inert gas, providing controlled and efficient extraction conditions. Sample temperatures can be selected from 10 °C to 200 °C. Lowering the temperature provides a means of reducing the amount of water vapor released and ultimately retrapped. The DHS station additionally holds a replaceable adsorbent- or sorbent filled tube used for analyte concentration. The temperature of the adsorbent tube during the DHS process can be varied from 20 °C to 70 °C for optimal trapping of the analytes in question.
Adsorbent tubes used are standard GERSTEL Thermal Desorption Unit TDU tubes. Following analyte concentration, the tube is automatically transferred to the TDU for Thermal Desorption and analyte transfer to the GC. Tubes are fitted with individual adapters enabling both automated movement and leak-free sealing during the DHS and Thermal Desorption steps and during storage in the autosampler tray.
Automated Dynamic Headspace DHS combined with sample introduction to a GC or GC/MS system is performed by the MPS and TDU. Up to 98 samples can be processed automatically in one sequence.

Solvent extractions that normally require labor-intensive steps are automated or performed in minutes, with reduced solvent consumption and reduced sample handling using Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE®) or AutoTrace®.
ASE is a patented instrument for the extraction of solid and semisolid sample matrices using common solvents at elevated temperatures and pressures. ASE systems are available in both the entry-level ASE 150 and the fully automated ASE 350.
AutoTrace is automated SPE instrument for extractions of large volume liquid sample matrixes. AutoTrace automates the standard SPE steps of condition, load, rinse and elute to reduce sample handling and improve productivity. AutoTrace systems are available in cartridge or disk formats.

Smartline Autosampler 3950
fast and very versatile HPLC autosampler, analytical Version
The Smartline Autosampler 3950 can inject from up to 768 positions when equipped with microtiter plates (either high or low formats) or from up to 96 standard 2 ml sample vials. Sample carryover is significantly minimized thanks to a highly-effective interior and exterior needle wash procedure. This autosampler is also fast and flexible: one complete sample injection cycle takes less than one minute, including needle wash. Three different injection modes are supported; “full loop filling” (highest precision and reproducibility), “partial loop filling” (variable volumes, e.g. for dilution series) and “µl pickup” (loss-free injection of extremely small sample volumes), allowing the user to optimize sample usage. The headspace pressure function prevents bubbles from forming in the vial during sample uptake. Precolumn derivatization is supported.
Options include sample tray cooling (4 - 22°C), biocompatible sample path, and a preparative version for sample volumes up to 10 ml.
