O2DS Scanner measures where others give up - think of hot rolled steel.
The O2DS scanner is an optoelectronic unit for non-contact precision measurement in two dimensions, developed for 2D- / profile-measurement in all kinds of industrial applications.
The O2DS is a laser scanner of the Flying Spot type. The measurement is performed by oscillating the triangulation plane over an angel up to 50°. A fine focused/collimated laser beam is diffusely reflected from the surface of almost any kind of object, and a CCD-camera records the image through an objective.
The measuring frequency is 2 kHz. Different scanning angels can be combined with four different measuring ranges. The smallest range covers 80 to 180 mm and the largest 380 to 1080 mm. The smaller the measuring range is, the higher the resolution will be.
As well as the ODS sensors, the 02DS scanner can be delivered as HT (high temperature) models for measuring on objects with surface temperature up to about 1200°C. Used under such conditions, precautions must be taken to protect the scanner from the heat.
Scanners can furthermore be customized to other than standard scan angels and measuring ranges.

Cobra 2D is a portable laser scanning system that provides high resolution linear profiles. And since it uses low power laser light, it is ideal for fragile or pliable parts that have critical surface contours. It's quick and easy to measure height, length, slope, and radius.
Its Scan-X®software makes scanning easy. View and analyze scans for the dimensional information you need. The heart of the system is field proven DRS™ (Digital Range Sensor) technology, combined with accurate motor control, and data analysis software. Since Cobra 2D scans by moving the DRS sensor over the surface, no special fixturing is required. Cobra is portable. When used with a laptop computer, you can take it where you need it.

Cobra™ 3D adds a motorized X axis to produce scans over an area as large as 2 " x 2".
Scan-X™ software makes it easy to scan and analyze the results.
Cobra 3D uses DRS™ (Digital Range Sensor) technology, motorized X and Y axis motion, a heavy duty granite base, and Scan-X software.

Cobra™ 3D is a non-contact measuring instrument capable of automatically acquiring a series of linear profiles in order to map an area for 3D analysis. 3D profiles provide important detail easily missed in a single linear profile. For example, the symmetry of a critical feature clearly shows in a 3D plot. Scanning an area also proves that the apex of a feature was scanned, an important capability not easily verified with a single linear scan.
Cobra 3D uses proven DRS™(Digital Range Sensor) laser technology to scan surfaces with up to 0.125 µm Z height resolution. Computer controlled motors move the DRS over the part while a precision stage translates the part beneath the DRS to build up a series of linear scans. Scan-X® analysis software controls the process and presents the results graphically and numerically.
The optional video camera makes setup even easier and provides live color imaging of the scanning process for visual verification of the scan location on the part.

The contactless, three-dimensional measurement of surface coordinates represents an important tool for the following industry areas: product development, reverse engineering, and quality control.
A significant improvement has been established with the mobile and easy-to-use, handheld triangulation scanner T-SCAN. One of the most important advangages of this system lies in the fact that objects can be digitized on-site in the production area or in the measurement facilities without time-consuming measurement preparation. Having launched this innovative concept a few years ago, Steinbichler Optotechnik was the first company worldwide who transformed the idea of an optically tracked handscanner into a system solution for industrial use.
The intelligent, hand-held laserscanner T-SCAN can be used even by inexperienced staff. Like painting a surface with a paintbrush, the scanner is moved over the object surface and acquires a high number of 3D coordinate points. To support an intuitive operation, the scanning process is displayed in real-time on the monitor.

LMC-M-M2D-LASER for Profile-Contour Scanning
The Scanner M2D provides 2-dimensional measuring of profile heights. The measured objects may consist of various materials. A laser line is projected onto the target and the distance to several points of the object is measured by triangulation. The Scanner is suitable for the geometric profile recognition and distance measurement. The height (Z-axis) by distance (X-axis) is measured. The result is the contour of the object at the point of measurement. Every 20 ms a complete scan of 283 points of measurement, or every 40 ms a scan with 566 points of measurement is done. The measurement range works from 5...1200 mm (X-axis) and 8...600mm(Z-axis).
Typical applications
Precise guidance of handling-robots:
– disc mounting, positioning of car-bodies, gap adjustment in the automotive industry
– welding seam tracking and quality assurance
fast measurement of:
– fast moving objects
– gaps
– edges
– width and depth of slots
– 3D shapes and profiles
– SMD components in the production process
