A screw conveyor is a conveying system that uses a helical screw blade within a tube to advance liquid or granular material. Based on the Archimedean screw, this conveying system is used in many different modern industries to efficiently move bulk or semi-solid materials horizontally or along an incline. These conveyors can be equipped with one of two screw, or augur arrangements and also may be used as variable rate feeders.
These conveyors are often used to move waste, wood chips, aggregates, cereal grains, animal feed, etc..
The choice is dependent on the application and the required flow rate.
