An Important Advance in Cartridge Filtration:
Now you can have all the benefits of cartridge filtration for industrial and commercial applications - while getting complete corrosion resistance. Hayward's one-piece, seamless, plastic-body cartridge filters will never rust or corrode, nor will they contaminate the process fluid.
Thousands of Applications:
Hayward's Series 4200 all-plastic cartridge filters have been designed to work in the most demanding of applications - whether for high purity water or aggressive chemical filtration. These heavy-wall-housing filters will withstand operating pressures of up to 150 PSI with no problem. Series 4200 filters will work in corrosive atmospheres and harsh environments, places where a metal housing would have to be painted or epoxy-coated just to survive. All this, plus light weight and easy installation, make the Hayward Series 4200 cartridge filter right for your application.
The Right Configuration for Your Application:
Series 4200 cartridge filter housings are offered in three sizes - making it easier to choose the exact filter for your application requirements. And you can choose between two types of Hayward cartridges. Hayward HC cellulose cartridges are perfect for all types of water filtration up to 165°F. Their special design packs 47 sq ft of filter media into a 16" tall cartridge. Hayward PF polypropylene cartridges are silicone-free and feature graded density construction for superior particle retention.
Duplex Models:
Choose a Hayward Series 4200 duplex cartridge filter for those applications where the pipeline flow cannot be shut down to change out filter cartridges. Duplex filters allow the pipeline flow to be diverted to one of the two filter housings. This permits the off-line housing to be serviced without flow shutdown.

The use of Cartridge Filters is a simple, low cost, filtration method that is well suited to a variety of applications and works well with many types of first stage pre-filters or separators. The typical pleated type filter elements provide a good amount of filter area for reasonable life and good contaminant removal. Best suited for operations which generate modest contaminant loads and require fairly infrequent element changes, they offer compact size, minimizing floor space requirements. Depending on the particular application they can be used as full flow filters where all the coolant being delivered to the work zone is filtered or as side stream or kidney loop filters to maintain contaminants in the machine sump at reasonable levels.

Liquid line and suction line filter-driers are often referred to as System Protectors because they remove harmful elements from the circulating refrigerant before serious damage results.
Keeping the system clean and free of foreign contaminants that can restrict the operation of valves, block capillary tubes or damage compressors is the best way to assure trouble-free operation. These contaminants can be solids, such as metal filings, flux, dust and dirt. Other equally menacing contaminants are solubles, such as acid, water, resins and wax.
No matter how many precautions are taken during assembly and installation or servicing of a system, contaminants can find a way into the system. Filter-driers are designed to protect a system during operation. It is the function of this all-important unit to remove those residual elements that can attack and eventually destroy the system components.

Filter Press Cloths
Filter presses were introduced at the turn of the century and have been around for many years. A filter press contains a series of plates with a filtering surface on both sides. The plates are covered with a press cloth. Many of these plates are pushed together to form chambers with sufficient filtration area for the application. A slurry is forced into the chamber. The press cloth allows the filtrate to pass through, dewatering the filter cake which forms on the press cloth. The cake is discharged by pulling the plates apart. The cycle then repeats itself. Filter presses are among the most versatile of all liquid/solid separation unit operations. They adapt easily to variations in feed concentrations, particle size and other physical properties, delivering very dry cake and high solids capture with low chemical conditioning costs.
Press Types:
- Plate and frame
- Recessed chamber
- Membrane chamber
Typical Applications:
- Silicas / Silicates
- Pigment and dyes
- Chemical processing

Polytech’s gravity bed filters, which offer automatic operation and use low cost bulk roll filter media, are well suited to applications with moderate contaminant levels. Contaminated liquid flows through non-woven synthetic filter fabric supported by the conveyor belt. As filtered contaminants restrict the liquid flow, the liquid level rises and actuates a float switch which starts the conveyor. Unlike so-called “deep bed filters” which utilize a submerged edge seal to prevent contaminated coolant from leaking directly into the filtered coolant tank, the filter paper contains the entire pool of liquid and filter paper is transported beneath the liquid. You get reliable filtration without seal maintenance. Gravity filters are available as filter chassis only or fully outfitted with tank, pump and electrical controls.

Fuel Manager Style Filters
Baldwin Filters design incorporates a removable, all-metal, self-venting drain valve into the filters assembly for full compatibility with OE designs. All OE drain valves, sensors and bowls may be used with the Baldwin design.
The Baldwin Design
Baldwins design removed the OE raised Ckeys to allow universal fit on multiple OE fuel bases.
This makes filter installation easier as no alignment to the mounting head is necessary.
All primary filters are painted red, while all secondary filters are painted white. This color coding helps determine, at a glance, that the proper filter is being installed.
The metal drain valve adds versatility of use on both standard and marine applications.
Baldwins removable self-venting drain valve is standard on these filters; however, the filter can be used with the Baldwin drain or removed for use with the OE sensor or bowl.

These magnet filters are used to filter ferrous particles from liquids and they are frequently used in hydraulic circuits and cooling systems. The magnet system is constructed from ceramic magnets and the unit is built into a stainless steel (AISI 304) casing. For cleaning, the magnet system is simple to remove by undoing several quick-release fasteners. A special double-walled version is available for use in heated pipeline systems (for example, separating ferrous particles from molten chocolate and cheese). Bakker Magnetics magnet filters are available in a number of versions for special applications. For situations where extremely stringent requirements for ferrous separation have to be met and/or tiny ferrous particles (m region) have to be extracted, a system can
be fitted with Neodymium magnets (add "/01" to the article number). A special version is available for use in systems with high pressures. Sanitary models are also available for applications in, for example, the food industry. For processing large quantities of raw materials, heavy-duty versions can be supplied. These versions have a processing capacity from 1000 to 8500 l/min.

The DUO3 off-line oil filter increases the availability and reliability of hydraulic and lubricant oil systems. For optimum oil filtration performance, more often than not filtering takes place in off-line circuits, where the oil filter can operate 24 hours a day independently of the main system, avoiding any changes in pressure and flow.
Fields of application
Typical fields of application include hydraulic systems, lubricating systems, hydraulic presses, injection moulding machines and machine tools. When rebuilding a system we recommend installation of an off line oil filter.
Design
Its low noise level and compact size make the DUO3 ideal for use in many different machines and working environments. For uniform and good circulation and oil filtration, the DUO3 has been fitted with a low pressure pump from our QPM range. This pump has few moving parts and is designed to have a long service life and consume little power.

We manufacture vacuum filters which use consumable filter paper for filtration. These vacuum filters can effectively handle viscous fluids up to 40 Cst. They require lesser space as dirty fluid tank and filter are together. They can easily be designed to handle much larger flows & dirt quantities. They use pump suction vacuum for filtration in addition to gravity head available. Pressure drop used is about 4 m of fluid column. Hence gathers more dirt layer to perform much better than all types of gravity filters.

The rotary vacuum drum filter (RVDF) is one of the oldest filters applied to industrial liquid filtration. A rotary drum filter resembles a large drum on its side. Half of the drum is submerged in the slurry, with the other half above it. The filter cloth winds around the drum and as the drum rotates, the slurry is sucked into the cloth. As the drum rotates out of the slurry, the cake is dried. This drying is caused by the vacuum continuously being drawn through the cake in the exposed section of the drum. At the end of the rotation cycle, at approximately a three o'clock position, the filter cake will be discharged and the process repeats itself. The filters may incorporate a drum cloth that is caulked onto the drum itself, or they may utilize an endless belt which tracks off and discharges away from the drum.
Typical Applications:
- Kaolin clay
- Titanium dioxide
- Alumina (red mud)
- Pharmaceuticals
- Chemical Processing
- Food processing (starches)
