Epsilon EP
“Motion Made Easy”TM
230V Servo Drive Systems
Epsilon EP, the compact and easy to use servo drive, is scalable from a simple amplifier to a completely programmable 1.5 Axis motion controller. The Epsilon EP comes in 3 flexible models, and 5 drive sizes — 2.2A, 4.0A, 6.5A, 9.0A and 16.0A, able to deliver over 40Nm of torque at the rated motor speed.
3 functional configurations:
Base: Epsilon EP-B
This base drive is ideal for servo applications utilizing an external motion controller. The EP-B has the unique capability of combining an analog command with a preset velocity for trimming or advance/retard operations. The EP-B drive is an excellent choice for stepper replacements or centralized control systems.
Indexer: Epsilon EP-I or EP-IDN
The EP-I drive is a highly capable position controller that provides Home, Index, and Jog motion profiles. The EP-I has a unique alternate mode feature whereby it can perform an Index or Home function, and then switch to an alternate mode such as analog torque, analog velocity, or pulse follower mode on the fly! This compact indexing drive is a cost-effective solution for countless applications.
Programming: Epsilon EP-P, EP-PDN and EP-PPB
The EP-P drive provides the highest level of control by allowing the user to create complete user programs to sequence the motion control along with other machine functionality. The EP-P can be used to solve the most complex motion applications and still be easy-to-use because of the PowerTools Pro configuration software. With intuitive software and plenty of online help, programming this servo drive is easy; in fact it is “Motion Made Easy!”

A revolutionary approach to complex servo-system...Servo drives made simple by Force Control Industries Inc. So simple, laptop computers are not necessary to make adjustments to your motion profile, or motor adjustments. No need to learn complex servo drive programming. We make it simple for all users and operators.
The PosiDrive® Team combines the skills of our applications and electrical groups. Both groups have years of experience in diverse industries. Together we provide simple solutions for high speed, extremely accurate, and ultimately reliable indexing systems. Our goal is to provide hi-tech solutions for general industry that everyone can understand.
An industrial grade Touch Screen Interface (TSI), preprogrammed, is included with each system. Setup, motion control, and troubleshooting is greatly simplified. The TSI records fault history, monitors motor performance, and displays temperature. It also lets you simply adjust any motion parameter. Motor tuning is also simplified. Change your index speed, adjust your accel/decel, all at the touch of a screen. The PosiDrive® TSI makes servo drive setup and operation simple.
Like all of the products produced at Force Control Industries, the PosiDrive® systems are rugged. Built to last, guaranteed to perform. There is nothing lightweight about our compact RA servomotors. 460 volt is our standard (230 volt is available). We use nothing less than industrial tough cables and cable connectors. They meet IP 65 standards. Our resolver based motor feedback, encapsulated windings and rare earth magnets make our brushless RA servomotors powerful performers.

Deciding whether to use a digital drive or an analog drive really depends on what you need the drive to do. If you already have an intelligent controller that can handle events and it has enough I/O then either will work for your system. If your controller has limitations then a digital drive may be able to make up for them.

Servo Amplifiers
An amplifier is required to power any general purpose drive or servo drive. Depending on the application requirement, CMC offers both general purpose amplifiers and servo amplifiers.
CMC Amplifiers are available with new machinery, in systems and for retrofit.

Two TTL signals control these drives, one for PWM and the other for Direction. Since these drives don't take analog inputs for command the need for a D/A converter for drive control is eliminated.

The POSYS® 3004 (Designed & Made in Germany) is a PC/104 form factor board dedicated to high performance motion control applications with extensive interpolation functionality. The POSYS® 3004 is designed to control up to 4 axes of servo and stepper motors and provides hardware linear, circular, Bit Pattern and continuous interpolation which allow to perform the most complex motion profiles. Update rates per axis do not exist as each axis runs in absolute real-time mode simultaneously which makes these boards to one of the best performing motion controllers for up to 4 axes in the market.
The POSYS® 3004 in addition provides an on-board DOS-like RTOS with 8 MB SDRAM and 8 MB Flash RAM with integrated Web, FTP and Telnet server for communication purposes via the x3 RS232/RS485 serial, x1 Ethernet, x1 USB1.1 or x2 CAN 2.0b interface which enhances this board for a variety of connection solutions. This allows maintenance, executing, monitoring, updating and diagnostics to be performed easily via network, field bus, Internet or Intranet. The multitasking capability allows up to 12 tasks to be executed simultaneously. Together with the CoDeSys IEC 61131-3 Runtime library integrated, this board can be used for almost any kind of motion control application. An optional switch allows to choose between pure PC/104-Bus (Option; ISA-Bus) communication or any of the other communication possibilities which can be used in parallel mode.
