The PCIx is a PCI 4 axis motion controller that conforms to the PCI Rev. 2.2 specification. The PCIx is a
four-axis controller for either servo or stepping motors. It supports 12 general purpose bits which are
opto-isolated for optimum noise immunity. The home and over travel inputs are opt-isolated. The architecture
of the PCIx includes a dual-port Ram for special functions where fast collection of large amounts
of data is required, such as profile capture.
The servo output is a +/- 10V or 0-10V signal that is driven by a 16 bit DAC. The servo control loop is a
PID filter with feed forward coefficients. The step pulse is a TTL level 50% duty cycle square wave that
supports velocities of 0 through 1,044,000 pulses per second. The encoder feedback functionality supports
quadrature encoders up to 4 MHz at a 4 times resolution and is used as the servo feedback, as
feedback for the stepper axes or as independent position feedback. The encoder feedback can provide
slip or stall detection. Every axis includes dedicated +/- over travel inputs, a home input, and an auxiliary
output. The PCIx is available in several different models at several different prices so that you don’t
have to pay for a lot of functionality that you don’t need.

The use of this processor delivers exceptional servo control, capabilities, quality, and application performance on multi-axis requirements. Drivers and Controllers for piezo actuators
To fulfill various requirements in terms of driving and control conditions for its piezo actuators (static, pulse, dynamic), the CEDRAT Group has developed 3 different families of standard drivers:
CA45 rack: Low cost & compact (1 channel) linear voltage amplifier for precise and quasi-static motion.
LA75 rack: Linear voltage amplifier for dynamic and precise motion.
SP75 rack: Switching power amplifier for fast motion.
These standard drivers can be equipped with controllers and sensor conditioners.

Piezo LEGS® - Electronics
As the Piezo LEGS® motor is a non-resonant motor, the drive electronics can be made very simple and reliable. There is no need to keep track of the temperature or other environmental factors normally associated with electronics for resonant piezo motors, nor is there a need to tune the motor for the surrounding mechanical structure, different cable lengths etc.
To drive the Piezo LEGS® motor you need four phases plus ground. To create motion in one drive leg of the motor element you need two phases, one for each side of the electrically separated halves of the leg. The walking drive principle of the motor requires two pairs of legs that operate independently, adding two drive phases.
The same curve form is used for all phases and normally with a drive voltage signal from 0 to + 48 V. For each drive leg the applied signals are normally phase shifted 90° between the two independent sides of one drive leg and normally 180° between the two pairs of legs (see figure to the left below).
It is our experience that most of our customers want to integrate the drive electronics into their own PCB boards etc. and we encourage this by having several design proposals available for different applications and demands. Please contact us if you need further information in this respect.
We also offer our own PDA 3.1 Driver. This is a low cost driver with a simple +/- 10 V analogue interface that allows you hook up the driver to any standard DC or servo motor controller.
There is also other commercially available drivers and controllers from different manufacturers that have been developed for the Piezo LEGS® motors and we would be glad to give you assistance.

The PS 90 is a modular designed position control for maximal nine axes, divided in three groups, each with three axes. Because of this special feature, it is possible to operate respectively three 2-phase step motors or DC servo motors (brush and brushless). Each axis has two inputs for incremental encoder or position measuring system. Thus, very precise positioning in closed loop mode is possible for all drive systems. Step motors can be operated from full step up to 256 micro steps per full step. The PS 90 can be operated by a handheld terminal or a PC via the integrated USB interface. Point-to-point positioning mode with different velocity profi les as well as complex continuous-path control like circular interpolation or 3-axes linear interpolation are possible. Because of safety requirements, an external emergency stop button is pluggable.
The software tool OWISoft is also part of the delivery. Thus, the PS 90 can be configured and operated comfortably.

DSM's VF-90 linear piezoelectric amplifier module provides functionality for driving piezoelectric (capacitive) loads in an extremely compact form factor.
The single channel module is designed into National Instruments' CompactRIO format for use in a CompactRIO and CompactDAQ chassis or for use outside of the chassis environment.
The VF-90 is powered by a 5.5V AC/DC adapter (provided by DSM with the VF-90). Low voltage analog input signals are amplified by the VF-90 with a gain of 40.
The VF-90 is configured at the factory for one of two output voltage ranges: -30 to +150V or -30 to +200V
Electrical connections for power, input signal, and output voltage are made through the module's screw terminals. The VF-90 features over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection as well as protection against over/under voltage conditions on the power line.

Description
1-axis PIEZO motor driver module 3kHz/48V
The TMCM-090 is a compact piezo motor driver module for high precision and highly dynamic piezo axis. It is specially designed for four phase piezo motors, like the PIEZO motor "Piezo Legs". It can be combined with the driver-less modules TMCM-301 or TMCM-302 or with any step/direction controller. The TMCM-323 can be added for encoder feedback. Its small size makes it an optimum solution for integration on any user board. The board can be connected to a baseboard or customized electronics with a pin connector. Applications are optical and analytical instruments. Its high microstep resolution leads to a linear motor resolution of about 2nm per microstep

RMC70 Hardware:
The RMC70 is a modular controller. The Base module - consisting of the CPU and the Axis module - is factory-configured. The NSC-3311 Series servo motion controller is a single-axis controller and amplifier designed for use with all Newmark servo motor stages. The controller can communicate with the host computer through an RS-232 or 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface. With built-in high level functionality such as position tracking, contouring and teach/playback, programming the controller is greatly simplified.
The motion controller can operate as a stand-alone system through the digital I/O for synchronizing motion with external events. The NSC-3311 utilizes a 32-bit microprocessor to control the trajectory profile, acceleration, velocity, deceleration and program memory with multitasking for simultaneously running up to eight programs.
