Continuous operation data and conditions, working angle 5°, average life 1000 hours.
The drive shaft is fitted with an "ECS" device for easy coupling with the PTO.
The operations of coupling and uncoupling the transmission shaft and the PTO on tractors or other farm machinery (previously fitted with a dedicated device) are easier and safer with the "ECS" device.
The "ECS" device is made up of a collar fitted on the stub of the yoke, free to rotate around the stub but connected to it through a float-type coupling.

Over the last twenty years MAINA has developed the production of a series of industrial universal shafts, to be installed in the main drives of machines or in parts of plants having continuous or unidirectional or reversible operation, subjected to high loads, and in the presence of overloads and repeated impacts.
The product range includes 22 sizes, divided according to the dimensions and the uses, into two different series of universal shafts: a “heavy duty” standard one and a “super heavy duty” special one.
Any technical information regarding the selection and the use, maintenance and lubrication is contained in MAINA catalogue 250/E.

Shaft with Casing & Fittings
S.S. White Motor couplings come in 2 types of assemblies - Oilite Bearings Assemblies and Ball Bearings Assemblies. Both Oilite and Ball Bearings Assemblies are available in ten (10) different diameter sizes: .130, .150, .187, .250, .312, .375, .500, .625, .750, and 1.000. Casing is usually necessary for shaft lengths that exceed 8 inches. Also, casing is recommended when the environment is dirty, dusty, or corrosive or when the shafts are run at high speeds in exposed areas where injury can occur. Refer to the chart below to find specifics on each assembly diameter.

|
Shaft with Fittings
For shaft applications that do not require casing, use the chart below to choose your fitting(s). Fittings are available in seven mating sizes (A through G) for each size shaft up to .500 diameter. Panel mount fittings (H & I) are available for some sizes. Casing is usually necessary for shaft lengths that exceed 8 inches. Also, casing is recommended when the environment is dirty, dusty, or corrosive or when the shafts are run at high speeds in exposed areas where injury can occur.

Shafting
While Shafts may appear the same, there are significant performance differences due to the manufacturer's selected standards, and the manufacturing processes used to achieve them.
The linear inner race demands the highest levels of material cleanliness, surface topography, surface hardening, diameter, taper and roundness, surface finish and straightness to provide optimum performance, minimal maintenance and long life.
Unlike common shafting, Thomson 60 Case LinearRace* shafting is manufactured to the highest quality standards. Our techniques are continuously upgraded with proprietary know-how gained from over 53 years of linear bearing design and manufacture. Using 60 Case LinearRace shafting with Thomson Ball Bushing* bearings ensures optimal bearing performance and travel life.
Manufactured in an ISO 9002 registered facility.

Choosing Ready-Flex® Standard Flexible Shafts
Many Flexible Shaft applications require custom designed Flexible Shafts-and some do not. For low-volume applications, the use of custom designed Flexible Shafts can be costly and time consuming due to the engineering effort required in the development process.
S.S. White has found there are certain designs and applications that come up over and over again and would be better served by standard, "off the shelf" solutions. For these applications, we have developed a line of readily available "standard" Flexible Shafts called Ready-Flex ®. They are offered in ten different diameter sizes to cover the majority of torque requirements and are available in a variety of End Coupling configurations.
